Luisa recently prepared a 6-course dinner for 12 in my home for my 35th birthday. It was wonderful! This was our first time working with Luisa, but not the first time having a chef in our home. Luisa has a beautiful website and glowing recommendations on Yelp so I sent her a note asking if she was available. She was immediately responsive with availability and menu suggestions and we booked her within a day or two. Luisa and her assistant Michelle arrived 2 hours before our party and they were a pleasure to have in our home. They were friendly and professional and our dinner went beautifully, our guests enjoyed themselves and we were so pleased with the food and presentation. For lack of a better word and at the risk of sounding completely unprofessional- i ADORE Luisa. I am the office manager at a company in San Carlos and have been using Luisa on a regular basis for about 2 years now. From small functions to 100 person lunch "buffets", Luisa is absolutely amazing. She has already left her mark on our entire staff--they definitely ask me where she is when she has a scheduling conflict and can't provide her tasty meals and treats for us. The combination of ingredients she uses are so innovative and delicious that unless I'm looking to serve something specific, I let her take over and prepare whatever she likes. Planning the Memorial and Celebration of Life for my father is the last thing I ever wanted to have to do, and I waited until almost the last minute to pull everything together before the date was upon me. I reached out to a few caterers, and the only one that actually wrote me back was Luisa. So strange! Even if you're not available, a courtesy response is super appreciated. Not only did Luisa do everything she could to make it happen for me within a week, but her food far exceeded my expectations. My Dad was a total foodie, a huge lover of Italian food, and I wanted what he would have loved served to his family and friends. She did NOT disappoint. We also had an odd schedule that day, as my Dad was a lay ordained Zen Buddhist and we had a meditation scheduled before the Celebration of Life - with a strange time window between the two events and people milling about all around her, she and her staff gracefully still managed to set everything up so beautifully and professionally. With an event of this nature you want... NEED!... the vendors to be spot on. With grief you almost don't have the capacity for things going wrong or being bad. Wonderful experience!! We had Luisa cater a small event at our home for 35 people. We were thrilled not only with the food, but with how pulled together she was in terms of arriving, prep, food presentation and follow up. Everything was on time and tasted fantastic. She prepared very nice charcuterie and cheese platters as a start, followed by leg of lamb, prime rib, salad, and tomato salad. Our group included young children and for them she made chicken skewers and cheese/fruit skewers which were a huge hit! All wonderful. We'd happily have Luisa cater for us again. read more

We had a baby shower for 2 brothers and their wives in February -- both expecting babies in March. There were lots of people at the shower, including 4 generations of family -- and not the largest kitchen in the world -- but Luisa's team did a spectacular job and the kitchen was cleaner after they left than when they first arrived. Also, the food was not only delicious, it was beautiful, and absolutely made the party! Luisa helped us pull together my brother's wedding in a short time frame. My brother announced he was getting married in my backyard in 4 weeks. Luisa saved the day. My future sister-in-law wanted casual elegance (whatever that means). I had my hands full with planning the decor and I didn't know what to do for food. Then we met Luisa. She came over to the house and reassured me that the space was big enough. Then she planned the entire menu. Simply by mentioning that the bride was from Australia, they currently lived in North Carolina, the groom likes brownies and there were going to be lots of kids, Luisa planned it all! She made kid friendly fruit kebabs (I saw quite a few of the adults grabbing these). She had appetizers that were plated beautifully and quite creatively. For the entree, she had lamb chops and pulled pork sliders (with a North Carolina BBQ sauce). The best part was dessert. Luisa told us that pavlovas were a traditional Australian wedding dessert. I had no idea but it sounded great. The bride was nearly crying when she saw them on the buffet table. She was so touched that we had included that (All thanks to Luisa!!!). The brownies for the groom were amazing and she had little mini cupcakes for the kids. I couldn't believe we pulled it off! All of the guests were raving about the food!!!!!!! Luisa and the server she brought with her were so friendly to all of the guests. They explained each item. My cousin hadn't mentioned his food allergies prior to they party but Luisa was able to answer his questions and point out which foods he could have. The clean up was fast, and my kitchen was spotless! I NEVER want to host a wedding again, but I'll have Luisa on speed dial for any other events I do!!!! She's amazing!!!!!!! read more

Thanks to Luisa, I really enjoyed my party- stress free! My husband and I gave a combination holiday open house/couples baby shower for our son and daughter-in-law... about 40 adults and a dozen kids. Luisa presented the most scrumptious hors d'oeuvres buffet which included beet/goat cheese bites, pork tenderloin crostini with cranberry chutney, lobster stuffed mushrooms, and pumpkin risotto balls drizzled with port wine reduction. The kids loved the Thai meatballs with peanut sauce. Everyone was very impressed with the food! And the presentation was lovely. Luisa is a pleasure to work with.
