My husband surprised me for my birthday with a fully personalized lunch prepared in front of my eyes and in the comfort of my own home by the amazing Chef Braggs. I walked into my kitchen to a beautifully set table (with my favorite flowers) and proceeded to be impressed by every course. Chef Braggs is amazing! I hosted a tequila pairing dinner for 7 girlfriends, and had Terry plan the menu. When I reached out to him, he was very responsive and quick to accommodate our group. He came up with several personalized menus after I told him our "theme". He and his awesome sous chef arrived about an hour and 20 minutes prior to the guests, and quickly set up shop. They were both the perfect combination of polite, personal, and efficient- even taking time to chat with my two little boys. We had a delicious Mexican-Californian fusion meal - all healthy and exceptionally done. Appetizers were shrimp and lobster tail skewers, home made tortilla chips with guacamole and a corn pico de Gallo, vegetarian hibiscus quesadillas paired with margaritas and rosé. Since all the ladies were busy chatting, I greatly appreciated how Terry ushered us to the dinner table at the appropriate time. Dinner was a heirloom tomatoes and grilled peach salad with questo, followed by a duo of halibut and filet mignon over an herb risotto. Recently I have started taking care of my 79 year old grandfather 24/7. He has type 2 diabetes, congestive heart failure, kidney failure, dementia, and recently had his gallbladder removed. He became a widower in the year 2012 and I had noticed that his health started to decline quickly. The doctors kept switching up his medications with no solutions on how to keep him from going into the hospital every week and told the family that there is nothing else that could be done. Of course that brought upon a lot of stress for the family but I wasn't ready to give up on trying to help my grandfather live a healthier and happy life. I asked his doctors and nutritionist if they could help me come up with a healthy diet lifestyle for my grandpa. Let's just say they wasn't interested because they didn't believe that his health could be turn around for the better. I believed that if he changed his diet, things would get a lot better. So I decided to take on the challenging task to find him a personal chef that was knowledgeable about health and nutrition. I found chef Braggs on yelp and I reached out to him discussing the needs for my grandpa. I was very nervous because my grandpa diet plan is a very strict diet and I wanted to make sure he still enjoys his meals and not feel like he is eating bland hospital food. At the time I had a list of 10 personal chefs that I was considering choosing between but to be honest they all seem overwhelmed with the task. But Chef Braggs took on the challenge like a champ. At first I wanted him to only cook lunch and dinner for my grandpa but chef Braggs was like nope I want to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for him every week. I was so relieved. Chef Braggs then proceeded to take on the task that my grandpa nutritionist was supposed to help me with and he helped me create an amazing diet plan. My grandfather loves bread, added sugar sweets and dairy. However we have been able to cut bread, added sugar sweets, and dairy out of his diet. He hasn't even recognized that he doesn't eat those things that he loves anymore. My grandfather doctors were very impressed with Chef Braggs ability to create such an amazing health conscious diet and it is working out very well. Also due to my grandpa needing a low sodium diet, chef Braggs created his own seasonings to help accommodate my grandpa needs. Chef Braggs has been cooking for us for the past 5 months. Things have been working out really well for my grandpa's health. His kidney functions has went from functioning at 20% to 65% within the first 2 months of chef Braggs cooking for us. I have been able to keep his diabetes under control whereas he isn't taking so much insulin anymore. He used to be on a total of 20 pills a day and now he is only taking 9 pills. He isn't swelling up with fluid around his lungs anymore as often which used to cause him shortness of breath. Also the doctors had informed me that my grandfather would never ever eat solid foods again and he would always need to be fed through a tube. The doctors were against me wanting to get his feeding tube taken out at first because they didn't believe in the diet plan that was chosen by myself and chef Braggs. They stated that " The diet plan might not adjust well with his body". I refuse to listen to what they were saying and proceeded with faith to work out a good diet plan with chef Braggs. I was a bit worried about him adapting to his new diet and new a person who would be cooking his food besides his wife who now deceased. However he adapted well to chef Braggs cooking and enjoys talking to him. If there is 1 day that goes by and he doesn't have chef Braggs cooking he will become very anxious because he used to a certain quality of food and diet plan. The food that is being prepared is always fresh and of great quality. Everything is organic and nothing is pre-packaged process food. I can honestly say I have such a hard time going out to eat now because the food doesn't taste that well to me because I am used to fresh quality food now. His presentation is always on point. We have a new menu every week and it is always exciting to try new things. I am very blessed to have found chef Braggs. I am thankful for all the work he has put in for us. I appreciate the positive spirit that he carries within himself to work and cooking our meals with love. He is always willing to take on any new challenges and conquer it. He has lifted a heavy load off of me as far as my grandpa's diet. I don't know if chef Braggs realizes how much of a great impact he is in our lives. I wouldn't know what I would do without his help. Not to be ignored, I'm posting again to alert the public.Not honoring a contract and commitment to provide services for a Bride and her 233 guests on her wedding day is unforgivable and I want to warn other brides. Do Not put your trust or invest money with him. I'm not going to stop telling everyone I know to be aware of his actions. We managed to pull off the most beautiful wedding with the most outstanding food, all provided by professionals that bent over backwards to make the wedding a success. Not only did mr braggs take over 21K for food and catering that he's yet to refund, he instead offered 5K of our money back and claimed to have spent 16K in prep when I know for a fact that was a lie. He had no health permit, and no permit from the venue, The Bentley Reserve, he had hired no staff and he didn't have the funds to buy food, pay staff etc etc because he had spent it on whatever. He has yet to even apologize or to be honest about his failure. We wanted to support black business but I won't do it again, this was just unacceptable and I'm still mad as hell about it. I have flashbacks of our guests having no food, drinks etc. which would have been the case had we not been warned by the wedding planner that this guy was going to flake a WEEK before the event. Caviar deviled eggs with quail eggs, smoked salmon over potato bellinis with creme fraiche, strawberri puree champagne bellinis, traditional eggs benedict with some of the best hollandaise ive ever had and to top it off (by request and supplies provided by one of our guests) cannabis infused plum puree french toast.
