With many caterers, they will jump through hoops for your large events, but won't even talk to you for your small events. We recently had a small 7 person brunch and lunch event at my boss' home in Atherton. I spoke to a handful of different caterers and they didn't seem to understand the white glove service I was looking for. I felt so good after chatting with Nicolana from IDK. She really took the time to listen to what I was looking for, and went out of her way to deliver for me. We did a fancy mimosa brunch and wine paired lunch. Both came with multiple dishes and the team LOVED it. We opted for a fusion Indian theme and they brought a tandoori and the food and flavors were amazing. We were so impressed with the wine pairing as well, since Indian spaces are difficult to pair with. Once the event was done, they cleaned our kitchen and dining area and made it look even better than when they first started. Thank you so much Nicolana and Chef Jai. We love you guys, your mission of fresh local ingredients, and your level of care and service. We will be using you for future events, large and small!

We had hired IDK caterers for our wedding celebration last weekend. The decision was an extremely…read moredisappointing one for us as hosts and family. There were not one but various major issues with the service. 1. The amount of food being served was limited and all the guests had to wait for long periods of time between the servings. Many of the food items like roti and paratha were not even served. 2. We witnessed a lot of rudeness from the staff while interacting with family and friends, which is very unexpected since one doesn't expect this from someone in service industry, let alone basic human manners. 3. Coming to major part, we had 2 main desserts that we primarily had in the menu while they added 1 more complimentary dessert to the menu. However on the day, I could only see 1 complimentary dessert being served, that too when we asked where the desserts are. Me, being the bride, never saw the other 2 desserts, that I was so much looking forward to. This was way more disappointing that things promised were not delivered. As a host and bride, I was very disappointed with the management as things were slow and everyone in the staff looking clueless on what to be served next, clearly showing lack of management and service. Honestly, for me, they don't even deserve single star review, as instead of acting on the feedback that we were giving them on the day, they chose to be even more rude to us, which shows the most unprofessional service company. Overall, realistically, I would rate 0 stars and would recommend others to run away from this company if you want to enjoy your party/celebration.

There's something distinct about Spice Ladle's cuisine that I have yet to find anywhere else. It's definitely unlike the usual greasy, Indian heavy food you'll find in restaurants. What's also nice is that the owners - Peri and Rohit are genuinely passionate about what they do, which is evident in the meals they offer. They offer a wide selection of menus. I haven't tried all of them yet. But, my favorites are their buttermilk and thyme chicken tikka and Parsi Chicken Curry!! If you're a busy working family that don't have time to cook, but want to enjoy a nice home cooked meal, then I highly recommend Spice Ladle. They offer bento boxes - ideal for a family of 2 or 4.

Among these was Joshua Charles Catering. As committee chairman, I worked directly with Joshua, who was very responsive to our needs, and proactive in staying in contact as we negotiated.  The food he offered looked exquisite and varied, and his services generous. I was pretty much sold. Our committee did find one other caterer who, surprisingly, was able to beat Joshua Charles' very low price points.  No one else came close, all but the one being almost double their price. Although we did decide on another, I would highly recommend others give Joshua Charles Catering a very close look.  I would certainly do so again.

All the food was extremely delicious - every guest had a different favorite whenever we asked them. We had more than enough food for all of our guests, even when some guests went back for a third serving! They were able to accommodate all our guest's dietary restrictions (ie. allergies, gluten-free, vegetarian). The entire staff was attentive, friendly, and professional - even a month after the wedding, our family members still raved about their top-notch service and care. We worked with Sierra, Samantha, and Jessica, and what a joy it was to work with them. They were very responsive to all our emails and were open to all our calls leading up to the wedding. My husband and I are endlessly grateful to Samantha (our main coordinator), Jessica (coordinator and office manager), Chris (owner and extraordinary chef), and their whole team for executing the most magical, seamless, and unforgettable wedding day we could have ever imagined. Culinary Excellence is so much more than a catering company -- they are a full-service dream team. From planning to execution, every detail was handled with care, creativity, and professionalism. I never once felt the stress of juggling multiple vendors, because this team truly does it all. Florals? Samantha not only understood my vision of a wildflower theme -- she invited me to join her at the flower market early in the morning and then personally designed and arranged every floral element herself, all while flawlessly managing day-of coordination. Her dedication, artistry, and calm presence exceeded anything I could have hoped for. Food? Absolutely amazing. Multiple guests told us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. As a Filipino couple, having Lechon (whole roasted pig) was especially important to us -- and not only did they source it along with the traditional sauces, but it was hands-down the best lechon we've ever had. Chris himself was carving and serving it for our guests, which made it even more special. Decor & Setup? Impeccable. They handled all the activities for cocktail hour, ensured a seamless setup, and brought my reception table vision to life down to the smallest detail. This team is truly one of a kind -- it felt less like working with a company and more like being supported by family. Any event we have in the future, there's no question -- we will wholeheartedly choose Culinary Excellence again. They made our wedding day not just beautiful, but unforgettable.

The Persian Chicken Kabobs are excellent. Between Santorini and Danville International Market I think Diamondbite's has the juiciest by far. Grilled to perfection. For the ground meat kabobs, I can only recommend the Beef version. The ground chicken was dry and overly seasoned - salty to the point of being inedible. The saffron rice is also good, though some more oil would be nice. They also offer extreme contrast of flavors - a side of pickled cabbage that's really tart and a single jalapeño pepper that's spicy for me. Definitely plan to try some of their other offerings. They ran out of Aush Resteh last time so it'll be something to look forward to forward too.
