Looking forward to trying more of their menu!

Definitely try Eggplant and tofu- crispy pillowy tofu cooked with eggplant. Flavors were good. I recommend. Tofu is extremely hot so be careful of your 1st bite. I had to do the huffing noises and lean to the opposite side to not get burned. Everybody does this and still goes in for the second bite to burn the roof of their mouth. Fried veggie eggrolls- small, dry and split in half. Don't get this. Not worth the calories Veggie gyoza- I ordered steam not fried but I didn't want to return them to the kitchen. These were good with great flavors. Definitely try! If your in a hurry, have no fear you will be out quickly.

The Tamarind chicken wings were seasoned to perfection, it was crispy and moist. The ginger tea was refreshingly delicious, tastes like pure ginger. The atmosphere is casual with jazz music playing. It's very clean. The customer service was the best. We were greeted by a lady at the front immediately upon entering the restaurant and quickly seated. Great Thai restaurant. This was my first visit and it won't be my last visit. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the food, I will next time.

The food was tasty but often arrived lukewarm. You could definitely tell that it sat for a while before it got to our table (and we only ordered one entree and two appetizers). Getting the bill was also difficult. I'd say 30 minutes was spent actually eating and an hour and 30 minutes were spent waiting. Some tables that arrived after us got their food AND bill first and even were able to leave before us since we couldn't get the server. I'm not blaming the servers since they seemed to be overwhelmed but I think they need more people on a Friday night. There was like one host and one server doing everything Overall: food is great but I think they need to staff more people in order to improve overall service

I took a risk and ordered this through UberEats because I was really drawn in by the grilled shrimp…read moreand grilled salmon. I did end up getting the grilled salmon dinner for my daughter, with the rice and peas, minus the salad; lemon pepper wings and buffalo wings. Here's my honest thoughts: Salmon: The salmon itself was GREAT. The plantains were far too chewy and the rice & peas had a weird sweet taste to it. My partner and his family are Haitian so I'm used to their version, maybe that's why? I'm not sure, but the sweet taste didn't cut it for me and my daughter wouldn't touch it. The same was great though! Shrimp: Grilled shrimp from here? PERFECTION. Easily my favorite thing that I ordered. I made a little dip of melted butter, lemon juice and lemon pepper and it was phenomenal. Honestly, i'll probably order this any and every time. My only complaint was that it was for half a pound and the amount of shrimp definitely seemed like half a pound so that was disappointing but the ones I had were amazing. Lemon pepper wings: it was like fried chicken wings with a hint of lemon pepper, mostly salt. Definitely need more of the lemon pepper! But was really good and my favorite of the two wings. Buffalo wings: same breading/style, fried chicken wings with buffalo sauce. But the sauce makes it kind of soggy. The taste of the sauce wasn't bad, but the texture of it soaked in wasn't great. All in all, I'll still order from here and I'm curious to try their jerk chicken. The grilled shrimp will definitely be a go to for me any time.

Some things are definitely better than others. BUT - after going a few times, I really think this place is a case of learning the menu and playing to its strengths. Once you know whats worth it and whats just ok, you can put together a genuinely great meal here. This time around, the star of the show was the Chef's Choice jiaozi which gives you one of each dumpling they offer. That was a GREAT move. They were colorful, satisfying, and even better with a side of the spicy chili sauce which I highly recommend adding. I also want to give credit where it's due: the soup dumplings here are delicious, and I have also really enjoyed the fried rice and the spicy noodle dishes on past visits. So yeah, I get the mixed reputation....But I think Mr Bao is one of those spots that rewards a little menu knowledge. Order smart, skip the mid stuff, and there is a very solid meal waiting for you.
