Four things i would highly recommend from this store- the samosas (best I have had in the US), the batatawada (batter-fried mashed potato thats freshly made), home-made idli batter, indian home-style yogurt. Other than that, this indian stocks some unique products that are native to the Western Indian state of Maharashtra that cannot be found in other stores- I am very grateful for that. read more

UNEXPECTED NON-CHAIN FOOD in this trendy and developing area of Frisco. We dropped into the Spice Bazaar today looking for something that wasn't American chain food -- not the easiest find in Frisco. We enjoyed shopping in this small but well-stocked market area while we waited for our food, which came out hot and delicious!! We noted the disparity of reviews between Anglos and ethnic Indians (which concerned us, frankly) but we found each of the dishes we bought to be DELICIOUS!! We ordered Goat Korma, Saag Paneer, Chicken Biryani, and two kinds of tomato chutney, one with mango and one without. Goat was tender and flavorful, in a deliciously spicy and aromatic gravy. Saag paneer was spicier than expected, which I LOVED, but the kid who expected a lower to no level of heat HATED. MORE for me!! Everyone agreed the Chicken Biryani was delicious, and the raita that came with it provided a fresh and cooling counterpoint to the warm spices and roasted chicken. I have sneaked the tomato chutney into all manner of dishes - I love it!! 5 stars for food!! We will be back!!!! read more

This ridiculous place, I picked up a MTR mix from the store and checked the expiry date the next day before I was going to use it. It is June 2018 now and the expiry on the product was 'best before August 2017'. The best part of this was, I went the following day to return the product with the receipt and they are questioning me if I really bought it from their store and told me they cant give me a refund they can only issue a store credit. Please be cautious, and mindful of your customers. read more

Hi... I ordered 9 samosa and I have to tell you that samosa made my entire family sick.. It was refried and it was full of oil . And the kind of sickness my family felt was very much due to the oil that has been used multiple times. The brown bag was half soaked in oil. We have been taking samosa from this place for 8 years but had never experienced such a deteriorated quality. The samosa had consistently been same quality wise and taste wise ,for so many years but I can't say the same now. read more

If it weren't for Yelp, I would have never found out about Spice Bazaar. We've ordered a variety of food from here; our favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala - it is so creamy and the tomato sauce really stands out. Very good. The Saag Paneer is also very good but for some reason, the greenness of the sauce doesn't preserve very well. Nevertheless, it stlll tastes great. Their Bryiani is also fab. Oh my goodness, what an amazing meal! I had heard about this place for several months, and finally remembered to try it for lunch. There was one guy stocking shelves, and must have been someone in the back cooking (didn't see them). When I walked in the door, I was greeted (yay, I'm not invisible!), and the smell of curry and other wonderfulness was in the air. I asked for suggestions, and ordered the tikka masala chicken, and a samosa. Spice Bazaar doesn't have tables that I could see, so I got it to go. I was home in a few minutes, and opened the containers. The man had carefully plastic-wrapped them so as to not have them spill, wow, what a thoughtful thing! I got out the samosa and two kinds of chutney (no clue... one was maybe a coconut base?), both were wonderful, but the samosa - wow. Just wow. Perfectly fried, super tasty and fresh, just wow. I've never had one so wonderful! Then I went on to the main dish - again, just wonderful... thick sauce, spicy enough (I always hate when they tone it down for me, a white guy), I devoured it, and am still stuffed two hours later. Waaay too much food for one person to eat, enough for two meals! Again, I'm just blown away by the service, the friendliness, the quality of the food. They were all amazing! read more

I end up buying a DUM EGG Biryani from this store, which tasted anything like a Biriyani or it looked like a DUM preparation.. this by far, the worst of the Biriyani I have ever tasted @ DFW area.. never again.... Great place to shop. Bottle water was $0.50 for one! Random thought but great spot to stop by after my workout and grab a bite to eat. They have spices you can't get at the supermarket. Nice change of pace. Never crowded and everyone was helpful. Support your local grocers! read more

I had a very bad experience here. I bought rice three different varieties, in 2 of them found worms and one rice was smelled bad. My coworker and I were looking for a new lunch spot, and we lucked out with Spice Bazaar! When we arrived, we were the only customers in the grocery store, so we walked right up to the counter and ordered chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. We wandered around in the store while waiting on our food, and then enjoyed our meals in the small eating area. The place started filling up as we were finishing, and no wonder - the food was delicious, and a great value in terms of portion size and cost! Bless this oasis for Indian food in Frisco. Everything else right now is incredibly expensive and probably not as good as this. A giant thank you to the owners. Pros: -Menu is easy to read and features lots of familiar staples (Chicken Masala, Lamb Korma, Tandoori Chicken). -Food is delicious! Great portions. -Extremely fair price. Roughly 7-8 dollars per entree. -Very fast. About 10 minutes wait time. -Very accommodating staff; willing to answer questions and provide help. Cons: -The interior can be jarring for anyone at first. It is a mini-mart full of authentic Indian goods with a counter on the side for ordering food from. You may have to reassure any first-timers you bring. - Naan and rice are not included; this is not a huge deal for me as I just fire up the rice cooker when I get home. It's a few bucks for some naan which I always grab. read more

So I went here to try and buy some rice paper. I know I know not the right area of food but I was desperate not to drive to hmart and this place was the closest thing Yelp had for me. There was no rice paper but what they did have was a very friendly helpful staff. I ended up purchasing some deep fried onion/spinach mix from the counter. It was perfect. It had a nice curry kick with a slight ginger ness. The crunch was just right. I'm in love and will be back to try all the foods. This is the second time when we ordered chicken 65, the meat was spiced up with bad smelling chicken that my kids could not eat, the chicken clearly was stale that they spiced up and packed, they will loose credibility at the end. read more

My husband and I were passing through Frisco and decided to have a late lunch. We had a craving for Indian food, so thought we'd try out Spice Bazaar. The food is delicious. We each got the chicken tikka masala, total for both and some chapattis was about $15. It's very fresh, spicy, just the right amount of heat, but what really stood out for me was the size of the portions (we split one serving and were satisfied) and the amount of chicken. It's a gripe of mine how so often Indian restaurants skimp on the meat, but not in this case! Since it's located in an Indian grocery store, we checked out the merchandise and I ended up with a basket of tea and spices for a lot less than it would cost in a regular grocery store. The food is take-out only, so we drove to City Lake Park and had a picnic. I'll definitely be back. read more

This place needs to be SHUT DOWN! If it isn't bad enough they are selling expired groceries, they are scamming their customers about it. I was not going to post anything but when I read other reviews I had to share my experience.... Today we grabbed a few things, frozen meat products, and some beans in cans... We noticed all of the cans were expired, as we approached the counter, and the meat products were expired 4 days ago. We mentioned this to the guy behind the counter, his response just about floored me, his exact words were "it's only 4 days, you can use it".... UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!! I think they have a new owner, this place used to be good, but now it's simply waiting for a lawsuit to happen on someone else's expense. read more

If I had to heavily critique, then I'd say the mixed veg saag could use a wider variety of vegetables besides peas and carrots, some roasted cauliflower or broccoli would have been nice. read more
