    Madurai Chilli Chicken

I visited this restaurant last Monday with a local friend, eager to experience what I had heard so much about. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me straight to Tamil Nadu, with Tamil movie posters on the walls and a large screen playing film songs. We ordered a variety of dishes: - **Starters (5/5)**: Fish 65 and Madurai Chilli Chicken were fantastic; both had properly cooked meat with perfect spice. - **Main Dishes (4/5)**: The Mutton Kari Dosai and Chicken Kothu Parotta were decent, but I expected more spice. The Salna served with the Kothu Parotta was a nice touch, and the portions were generous enough for two. The standout was definitely the Chicken Kulambu Kalakki--absolutely delicious! I can see this place getting extremely busy on weekends!

Best Chennai food I've ever had in the US. My husband was born and raised in Chennai and he's a hardcore fan of the cuisine. He took me to this restaurant and ordered all his favourites. Basha / Nikha mutton biryani: out of the world, so flavorful rice, tender meats. Served with the best combination to the biryani ever brinjal curry. The combination was so tasty that I couldn't stop myself from eating. Paired with thick onion raita. Drooling as I type this review. Parrota and salan : 2 pieces of crispy flaky parrota with veg salan gravy. This was so tasty delicious comforting and yummy. Loved it. Chicken dosa : this was food too. Thick yet crispy dosa, topped with scrambled egg cooked with chicken curry and gravy. Very unique. Jigarthanda: out of the world. So delicious lip smacking dessert. Sugar attack for sure but worth it. Very popular sweet from Madurai. Goat Paya: flavour blast of goat soup, very tasty and refreshing. Best for when you are sick, or it's cold outside as it was that day, or you need something warm for ur throat. Meetha pan: yummy!! Self service. Pretty quick. Absolutely must visit. Am gonna visit again with my hubby during our next visit to Dallas.

Ambience replicates the Indian tamilnadu style with all film posters. Food was good and again it's a self service. Felt salt in the food was a little downside. Quantity would serve one person. Kothu parotta could have been even tastier as I couldn't find more eggs and chicken. It was minimal. Chilli chicken and idly was good. Idly was served with sambar and two types of chutney.

If you want to enjoy that local flavors of Tamil food then this is the one. I simply love the non veg food here. A simple cafe ambience with a local touch of movie posters and kitchen utensils and accessories. The counter calls you to order food and it's a self serve style. The prices are pretty reasonable for that lip smacking food. Since my husband is a vegetarian, he dint enjoy his food as much as I did. However don't miss the pillowy soft idlis and if you're an iddiyapam fan then go for it! The menu allows you to mix and match with a bunch of combinations, simply best if your bringing kids along. I always order one portion of idli and one portion of kal dosa for the kids. I have been twice or thrice so far, just wish this place was close by home!

One of the best Biryanis I've had in the Dallas Fort Worth area. I had the combo and every bite was worth it. Definitely coming back.

This Place serves South Indian ( Tamil ) Food like Idly, Kottu Parotta which are like staple food in that region of India. Food is good but spicy so make sure you order the right level. Good Staff Free Parking

I was there a few times and the food was OK! This will be not be my regular if i am craving for Indian or south indian food. I tried their parota and sherwa which was good on my first visit and wanted to take my wife. However it did not taste the same in my recent visit. Idiyappam and coconut milk was fine. Poricha kozhi was deep fried and had very mild flavour. Curry fried rice had a mixed flavour between fried rice and biryani. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Overall the experience was fine. I would not recommend this to anyone wanting to celebrate their special days here. The decor gives you a vibe of you sitting in a roadside resturant in Tamil Nadu. Overall our experience was OK and not worth the drive from my location to Plano for something that's OK!!

We ordered dosa and pomfret fry . The dosa tasted good. It came with two types of chutneys and veg salna. The pomfret fry was cooked well, but wasn't very tasty because most spices were probably washed away while frying. We also tried tea , which was kind of okay but too sweet for my taste

As a non-Indian I can't speak to the authenticity, but the constant stream of Indian customers was a good sign. The menu is South Indian/Tamil and the khotu parotta was so good I was tasting it in my imagination a day later. My veg salna was similarly delicious, but was heavy on the gravy. Thankfully I had plenty of roti to sop it up..

I've always wanted to make sure I try out places that are not only.top rated but also those which are not. In that endeavor, I visited Madrurai Thattu Kadai. Basically the interiors gets you , as it's rustic and catchy, but that's about it. I went on a Saturday evening and basically to my surprise her with me to you for customers in the store then I hate waiting for the guys to come up at the ordering those finally someone showed up so I ordered a coffee , Gobi 65, and egg Dosa. The egg Dosa was too thick, the coffee was served in a styrofoam cups and lacked flavor and above all the biggest let down was the Gobi 65 but was just oily and flavorless. The store owners were in no way concerned or apologetic when I told them that I requested the Gobi 65 spicy and it was completely bland. All I got was a "Sorry Sir", as though they knew that when they gave it to me. This basically will be the reason that I may not be going there anymore.

It only looks good. Not spicy, low in flavor. Only thing I liked about the place is the fast service

My husband and friends ordered the thali, and I went for the masala dosa. Everything was exceptional. I even tried my husband's goat thali - something I'm usually cautious about due to the strong flavor goat can have - but every single item was well-balanced. My masala dosa was absolutely outstanding in terms of texture and crispiness with just the right amount of ghee and stuffing. The chutneys were fresh and complemented everything so well. Too bad I forgot to take the photos! The service was warm and attentive, and the restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated. We're already planning to go back next weekend to try their buffet-style thali served on a banana leaf and the unlimited dosa. Can't wait! We couldn't be happier to have this gem just 10 minutes from home. Highly recommend!

They were very friendly and hospitable and that care transfers over to the quality of food. Edit: So I quickly made a substandard review at the restaurant because I wanted to get up new pictures. This establishment is no longer a small mainly takeout spot. They added on another unit and it has a very large sitting spot that can most likely accommodate upwards of 100 people easily. This place is 100 percent authentic. Spice levels? You either eat it or not. They take longer to prepare, but you know they are making it from scratch with love. I took home garlic and butter naan, butter chicken, Hariyali Chicken Kebab (insane the best I've ever had), and a Biryani that I specifically forgot which one. First the butter chicken is #1, often most establishments get the consistency of the curry sauce wrong...too much oil, not enough spices, or vice versa. I legit wanted to cry, it was that perfect and they don't skimp on the chicken either. The Hariyali Chicken Kebab melts in your mouth. You can taste the mint, coriander, the packed in spinach. They marinate these suckers well, it's a timely dish to make and you can tell they are fully locked in when they make it. The gongura paneer biryani was an absolute hit, my first time trying they particular biryani. Today is day two and I have a ton of leftovers, you judge the quality of a restaurant by the bread first and the naan is still moist and amazing after reheating. Not flaky or dried out after storing in the fridge overnight and reheating in the oven...... outstanding. Yo, I'm scared.... People please visit this spot. This establishment needs more traffic, I want them to stick around. They deserve all the love.
