While not the newest, this store was renovated recently and is sometimes a goldmine for a specific (and popular) sneaker or shoe, due to their location in the deserted Westgate Mall. On both occasions I have made special trips into this mall just to come here and just a particular pair of shoes they had in stock in my size that none of the other Famous Footwear locations had. Around the summertime they normally have sandals, and if you shop smart, they nearly always have coupons available to use (and when I called here recently and asked if they would accept a coupon that clearly said on it that it was only eligible at the new Braintree store, they had no issue accepting it here). Manager is friendly and in general staff are as well, and having staff always around to help is a plus. Decent enough store in a low-volume mall. 3 stars.

Their "wicked good moccasins" are incredibly comfortable and I love wearing them in the fall/winter time. I've definitely gone through several pairs. Enough to get me into the store, which was their goal. The discount was for something like a flat amount off the total purchase, or maybe a percentage discount. Don't really remember but you get my drift I hope. After trying on a handful of shoes, I found three or four pairs that I was happy with and wanted to buy. I brought them to the front of the store, which was being staffed by a guy i had been chatting with my whole time there. He was very personable and friendly. Good guy. He rang up my order and went to use my coupon. Ladies and gentlemen, this is when the malarkey started to happen. I had naïvely assumed I would just be able to use the coupon on any shoes in the store. How stupid of me! DXL is a corporation, of course they'll be operating with predatory practices. There was more fine print on that stupid coupon than a contract with the devil. Not ONE of the shoes that I wanted to buy were eligible to be used under that coupon. After reading it, I realized that I had got sent a coupon for a discount for shoes in which probably half the stores inventory did not qualify for. Probably will not be returning to the store with business practices like that.

First of all I must mention how absolutely wonderful the staff are at this location. They are all so thoughtful and helpful. We were greeted shortly after entering the shop, asked if we were looking for anything in particular and immediately they set to work with ideas. I found a sweater for layering but wasn't sure if it was right. They offered to hold it while I continued to look.
