Our family LOVES Spenga! It's an excellent work out and great for our whole family! My Husband & Son like the strength training & the free weights are an added bonus. Both of my Daughters LOVE taking the classes. Especially when Danica is teaching. Buyer Beware -- Read the Billing Terms Carefully First, I want to say that SPENGA has an awesome workout. The instructors are great, the staff is friendly, and I genuinely enjoyed going to the gym. Unfortunately, billing transparency is the reason I canceled my membership. When you enroll, they explain that payments are made every 28 days (four weeks). What I don't feel is clearly explained verbally is that a 28-day billing cycle results in 13 payments over a 12-month period, rather than the 12 payments you would have with traditional monthly billing. That means the actual annual cost is higher than what many people may initially perceive when they hear a monthly membership price. Yes, the 28-day billing cycle is stated in the contract, and I acknowledge that I should have read the agreement more carefully. However, I believe this is something that should be clearly explained upfront by the GM whom I was working with, or sales staff so customers fully understand the financial commitment before enrolling. I have worked in sales myself, and I understand that sales are sales. But I also believe transparency is important when you're asking someone to commit to a membership. For me, the issue isn't the workout or the people, I actually really liked both. It's the lack of transparency around the billing structure. In my opinion, that was enough for me to cancel and take my business elsewhere. Aside from no one calling back to explain this and having a staff member, telling me it's part of my contract. Poor customer service. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. If you're considering joining, my advice is simple: ask specifically how often you'll be charged and how many payments you'll make in a full year. If 13 payments instead of 12 doesn't bother you, that's completely fine. But if it matters to you, make sure you understand the billing cycle and total annual cost before signing up. An efficient workout- great for getting/staying in shape and getting toned. I went to Tiffany's class and it was a killer full body workout! Wow. Great music too, but l was too busy huffing and puffing to pay much attention. They have hair ties and earplugs in case you need them, but the music volume was just right in this class. You don't need to bring a yoga mat- they have a full set of them in their yoga area, and they have you fold the corner of yours so they know it's been used. After the strength training portion of the class, they give everyone a sanitizing wipe to wipe down the equipment you used. read more

Recently had a bad experience I was few minutes late and the general manager didn't let me in told me to wait for couple of minutes because it's dark in the spin room. And then told me you can't go inside until the entire spin session is over. She wasn't rude but not friendly. What management needs to take in consideration is there is traffic in the morning. I love working out here. At first I felt like 20 minutes!? each session? I felt like I would not get enough time to build my muscles yet in 20 minutes, but after all, I felt like it's just good enough for me. Also, if I want to do more, I just have to book another session or go to session that stress only spin and strengthening which sometimes it's hard because of my work schedule, and they have this kind of session just a few. l feel like yoga is important to me as it helps me stretch and give me some little time to reset my mind in peace before days started. Things that l don't like is you can't cancel class less than 8 hours otherwise you will get charged 10 dollars. Basically, if you booked session, you have to come if you don't want to pay 10 dollars, even you are sick or have emergency which you might have one to two times a month knowing less than 8 hours!! I have only good things to say about the instructors and classes. Unfortunately, the management is unable to enforce basic standards of decency and manners to stop certain customers from acting disrespectfully. Some women consistently use the bathroom as changing areas, creating frustration and class tardiness. I have always arrived at the studio early to give myself enough time to put my shoes on, use the toilette (NOT for changing), and set up my bike before the class. The difficulty of setting up the bike in the dark exacerbates the annoyance of the tardiness excuse. There is no justification for such mistreatment because the studio has a space for showers and changing. I complained already twice and I gave up. The quality of a studio is also a reflection of the quality of its customers. Very sad. read more

I love going to the gym but wanted to try something different to switch things up! I found out about Spenga via social media and wanted to give it a try after learning that it's a 60 minute workout (20 min spin/20 min strength and cardio/20 min yoga). I signed up for a free course and enjoyed it so much that I signed up for the first month unlimited membership for $99. They have different membership options depending on how frequently you plan on attending their classes. The first portion is the spin class which will definitely make you work up a sweat so make sure you bring a water bottle and a towel! You can go at your own pace or try to challenge yourself and keep up with the instructor. The next portion is the strength/cardio portion which is my favorite. All of the classes incorporate weights/kettlebells which are essential for building strength and muscle! It is fast-paced but you can always go at your own pace as well. The last portion is the yoga portion which is more of a stretching class. I have gone to several classes and each time the yoga portion was my least favorite. The instructors move at a fast pace with each move/position and you don't really have time to stay in one position. Again, you can always go at your own pace. Overall, I have been enjoying the few days out of the week at Spenga! I'm glad to have found a place that incorporates different exercises all within 60 minutes! The instructors are helpful and motivating which are important if you want to reach your fitness goals! read more

I did one trial class. They also have an option for 3 classes for $15. You can get hour cardio, strength and stretching / mental relaxation in one class. They asked me to come in 30 min early for a tour and to setup. I asked if I really needed the full 30 minutes, and the answer was yes. The intro and info were a bit lacking, and I probably could have showed up 10 minutes early with plenty of time left to kill. Time is precious! Spin: they helped set me up on my bike but didn't go over handlebar positioning, so I ended up doing that on my own. They mentioned the screen for zones but didn't really describe it in enough detail so I spent part of the class time figuring it out. It seems that the range setup for each zone is dependent on the individual. I was "green" the whole time bc my zone ranges were fairly low, probably as a first timer. I'm not big on spin, but this section was ok. strength: the area was not setup that well. We used the TRX bands, and the step was in the way for the exercises. There was also a bug on the floor by me, and I found myself very distracted watching its path to make sure we didn't collide. They have screens to show the exercise and a countdown timer Yoga: take off your shoes and socks and then move to the yoga area. This section included some challenging moves but was also basic enough for someone familiar with yoga to follow. There's these fluorescent lights hanging above the yoga area, which would look nice except for all the dead bugs in the lights. There's not much individual instructor guidance so if you need more individual help with form or how to, this may not be the place for you. I was a bit uncomfortable with how close together we all were and breathing heavy during the workout. I wore my mask but was the only one. Cleanliness is an issue. Bugs. I went to the first class of the day, and the hand sanitizer at the door was empty. The workout itself was ok - definitely good to fit all that into one hour. Overall, the studio isn't for me, but I can see the appeal. read more

I love working out but tend to get bored of the gym so when I heard about Spenga, I was really excited to try it. I got lucky and got an amazing deal "12$ for 12 classes". I really enjoyed attending the 4 classes that I did. The facility was very clean, the instructors were super nice and hands on. Now let me tell you why this review is only getting 3 stars.... so unfortunately I was not able to finish my remaining 8 classes because a winter storm hit. Mind you, the studio was CLOSED but also no one advised me that I'd have to take these 12 classes back to back to not lose them. I texted today to try and book a class now that the weather is back to normal and I had someone from the studio call me. She told me that because I got such a good offer, it unfortunately expired despite the winter storm and they were shut down anyways but OH am I interested in buying a package? REALLY? You couldn't even honor the trial period I purchased. I did love the workouts and was leaning towards purchasing a package once my 12 sessions were over but now I feel cheated. It's the principle of offering the deal, not telling me of any restrictions or expiration date, and suddenly I'm caught off guard. For that reason, I opted to not buy any package deals. read more

Joined this location after being a long time member of the "Y". I love SPENGA bc the workout is a 3 part program. I've never been very good at spinning but w SPENGA I can push myself bc I know it's only 20 minutes. Just when I think I can't pedal one more minute, it's time to move to strength training which is my favorite. I'm 64 so I love that the instructor helps w modifications. She's not trying to enforce heavy weights but instead encourages you to use the weights for YOUR body. The last part of class is yoga and some of the poses are also strength and balanced based. I leave the studio feeling refreshed and ready for my day. The Sugar Land location is so clean that I recently told a friend you could eat off of restroom floor! read more

I love Spenga combination of spin, strength, and yoga...honestly didn't like spin, but with the awesome instructors music mash ups, it makes the ride so cool esp when you're trying to always beat your sweet spot, strength has made me stronger, in fact, it compliments my yoga practice levelling up my yogi game...arm balances mastered like crow and head stands, too!  It's addictive that I come everyday! read more
