There is a residential road infront of the shop where you can park but most visitors park on the main road outside of the shop and walk over the grassy verge. The shop is open almost all of the time and is the first place I think of when I desperately need something out of hours. The staff are brilliant at working hard and keeping the store up and running and they are a credit to shopping services in the town. The shop has a glass fronted window which is often quite crowded and stock-heavy. They have neat and inviting displays often showing the prices of goods or advertising any special offers. The store sells all sorts of products from your typical newsagents goods: newspapers and magazines, sweets, drinks, crisps etc to fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned goods, cosmetic products and women's products as well as alcohol and cigarettes. Basically, if there is anything you can't find at the local supermarket try here and there is a strong possibility they'll have it! It has familiar staff who are very helpful and chatty. The shop sells sweets, newspapers, cards, drinks, cigarettes and a few other nick nacks! They do a newspaper delivery service which is reasonably priced and reliable( I get my paper delivery from them). The shop has hardly changed since I was a little girl and that familiarity is a lovely thing to have in a town like Bedlington. This is such a centrally placed shop at the top end of Bedlington in the best location in town. It is popular with the school kids as it is both beside the school bus stand and also on route to several schools. It can therefore get very busy in the mornings! Prices are stabndard prices with some cheap greeting cards available. They do great mix-ups too, although as a grown up I really should curb my sweet tooth - it's a nostalgia thing!

The store has for a long time had a problem with the interior being flooded and as a result looks rather shabby and unpleasant inside. There are often buckets and pots (still for sale) which are set around the store to catch any drips coming from the celing! Apart from this problem, the actual merchandise available is great. The staff here are competent and quick to serve people at the tills. No staff on the floor as far as I have seen but I have always found what I wanted without needing any help.

They run various deals throughout the year and for various occasions, afterwards all the stock from that occasion is sold off at a very low price!! The staff are always friendly and look tidy and are more than competant. They are always available to help should you need it!

The shop is well signposted from the road but unfortunately is a little difficult to get to due to having a narrow staircase to the main shop. The building in which the shop is housed is bedecked by brilliant decorations and displays highlighting what they can offer, though, and it is very impressive. I first went to the shop before a party and I was astonished by the sheer amount of materials and clothes and fun accessories available. Comparing it to two major retailers in Newcastle I'd have to say this has much more and much better quality stock! The shop is actually a bit crowded and a bit messy with lots of things piled up on top of each other and thrown into baskets and tubs. Kids will be absolutely amazed if you take them here though, as it is like an Aladdin's Cave! There are rope and curtain style changing areas if you have come for a full outfit. The staff will wait on you hand and foot until you find what you are looking for. Prices are very reasonable and there is always something cheap that will do the trick for a special night out!

I found the perfect gift for a couple of my friends and bought a few bits for myself also. I contacted the site owner with some questions I had and he promptly and professionally dealt with my query. Upon receiving the items, everything was well packed and just as described expect 1 item had a small bit of damage to it. I contacted the site owner and he was very apologetic, immediately refunded the item and went above and beyond in his customer service despite it more than likely being rough handling by the postman. A very pleasant company with lovely items. Highly recommended for unusual gifts!

All items are reasonably priced and great service always given. A nice local business rather than a large chain that does not care and only cares about its profits and not the need of the customer. A place your kid will love with all the sweets, toys and magazines in store. Toys are often branded toys such as Thomas the tank etc - not cheap tacky stuff as some shops sell.

Parking is available outisde of the supermarket or in the central section of the mall adjecent to the Subway sandwich shop. There are usually plenty of spaces except on Wednesdays which is market day. The shop is located beside another discount store, The Yorkshire Trading Company and it is worth visiting both stores for your bargain buys. Home Bargains sells things like cosmetics and bathroom products that you'd find in similar stores like Superdrug. They also sell toys and some food, which appears to be imported from abroad. The prices of all items is very cheap and less than at other stores. Home Bargains is a narrow store with three long aisles stretching to the back of the one room. The tills (about four of them) are located at the front of the store. The entrance is wide enough for a wheelchair or pram but it can get congested. There is no window display and the area can look a little messy as staff tend to leave stock and plastic bags in the area. I generally find that this store is so popular that there is ALWAYS queues at the tills, often going back seven or eight customers per line. The staff do not usually pace around the shop offering help as it is too busy. So if you need anything it is difficult to find anyone to ask. It is a brilliant store to get a bargain but be prepared to fight your way through the aisles and wait for a long time to be served.

It had some fantastic gift sets for christmas for cheap and offers well known brands for cheaper than other shops. It has a great selection of childhood sweets and last time I was in I heard someone keep inform their dad they must get everything as they were only 10p. The assistants are usually quick and your bags are packed for you I did have a problem one time with them not being able to find a price on something and it taking them a while to figure it out but they are usually quite good
