The store has for a long time had a problem with the interior being flooded and as a result looks rather shabby and unpleasant inside. There are often buckets and pots (still for sale) which are set around the store to catch any drips coming from the celing! Apart from this problem, the actual merchandise available is great. The staff here are competent and quick to serve people at the tills. No staff on the floor as far as I have seen but I have always found what I wanted without needing any help.

They run various deals throughout the year and for various occasions, afterwards all the stock from that occasion is sold off at a very low price!! The staff are always friendly and look tidy and are more than competant. They are always available to help should you need it!

Spend and Save is a brilliant bargain store. The shop is very higgledy piggledy and it takes a bit of rooting around before you find what you are looking for. There is always lots of products stacked and lots of them dumped around the entrance which you have to step around! The staff are active, pleasant and talkative. There are usually two helping at the till. They pack your product in a bag for you and always have a friendly natter. Spend and Save is always my first choice if I need something. I can bet my bottom dollar I will find it here and at half the price of anywhere else in Bedlington. The store has had some opening times issues since the large Tesco store opened up next door to them. I hope they survive the regeneration of the Market Place.

Chahals is located at the bottom of the bank road which leads towards Guidepost. It is just beyond…read morethe mini roundabout. There is a residential road infront of the shop where you can park but most visitors park on the main road outside of the shop and walk over the grassy verge. The shop is open almost all of the time and is the first place I think of when I desperately need something out of hours. The staff are brilliant at working hard and keeping the store up and running and they are a credit to shopping services in the town. The shop has a glass fronted window which is often quite crowded and stock-heavy. They have neat and inviting displays often showing the prices of goods or advertising any special offers. The store sells all sorts of products from your typical newsagents goods: newspapers and magazines, sweets, drinks, crisps etc to fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned goods, cosmetic products and women's products as well as alcohol and cigarettes. Basically, if there is anything you can't find at the local supermarket try here and there is a strong possibility they'll have it! A brilliant, convenient store whose staff are also very personable and kind.

An unusual kind of specialist shop to find in a small town area, this is as good and perhaps even…read morebetter than similar places in the city. The shop is well signposted from the road but unfortunately is a little difficult to get to due to having a narrow staircase to the main shop. The building in which the shop is housed is bedecked by brilliant decorations and displays highlighting what they can offer, though, and it is very impressive. I first went to the shop before a party and I was astonished by the sheer amount of materials and clothes and fun accessories available. Comparing it to two major retailers in Newcastle I'd have to say this has much more and much better quality stock! The shop is actually a bit crowded and a bit messy with lots of things piled up on top of each other and thrown into baskets and tubs. Kids will be absolutely amazed if you take them here though, as it is like an Aladdin's Cave! There are rope and curtain style changing areas if you have come for a full outfit. The staff will wait on you hand and foot until you find what you are looking for. Prices are very reasonable and there is always something cheap that will do the trick for a special night out!

It has in it's favour some lovely homeware and a brilliant cookshop.I was totally unimpressed by the clothing range though,although there was a good range of shoes. The store is supposed to be a discount one but I did'nt think the goods were that much of a bargain.I've often got the same thing cheaper elsewhere. It's got a good sized cafe if you fancy a break and there is a huge car park too. I won't be rushing back to shop here,there's plenty other places much better to go to.
