This branch of Primark is a fairly large branch of the "discount" fashion retailer, and it is one of two branches of the chain I visited during my trip to Newcastle and the North East of England in the Summer of 2017, this branch is a decent branch, albeit slightly smaller than my local store in Manchester, I did prefer it compared to Manchester, but still this branch isn't fantastic and is probably only the second best in the region, behind the branch at the intu Metrocentre in Gateshead. This store is located on Northumberland Street in a fairly decent location in the city centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The store is over four floors, with Women's on the Ground Floor, Mens in the "Basement" and a Costa Coffee store with the Kids range and Customer Services on the upper/second floor. The staff around the store seemed average, perhaps less helpful than other branches, however. A decent store in a decent location - hence the reason I'm struggling to rate this place, yet sadly due to some slight issues with product range, slight issues with service not being as good as other Primark branches and issues with the overall feel of the store in parts, the lifts also were an issue for me, I feel this store only deserves a medium to high two-star rating at best. read more

This Primark is massive! I actually think it's the second biggest in the UK, after Tottenham Court Road. It opened in 2012 to replace the old BHS and it has proven popular with Newcastle because it's always jam packed. The basement has the menswear department which is pretty large. I can always find something I like on this floor. The ground and first floors are both taken up by the womenswear but the second floor has the amazing Primark home section, accessories and a Costa, which you can head to if you want to escape the crowds of the main store. Even though it does get VERY packed, the store is very spacious, so it doesn't really feel busy. The escalator arrangement is complete and utter pants. You have to go to the other side of the store to get to the next one in the set, what rubbish! Also the elevators (even though there is lots of them) feel like they are always flooded with people. It has a good layout, it is pretty generous in size, mens department is big and it has a coffee shop, so what is not to like about Primark Newcastle? read more

Great location in the city centre of Newcastle. Very easy to spot. Always pretty busy. Always loaded with good deals on fair quality items. A great place to get items that you might need for a random night out. These are not well tailored items for the men. I suggest trying things on or you might be returning to Primark for a refund or exchange. They also offer a home section that has quirky items that are pretty great! An enormous store spanning 4 or 5 floors with some of the most inexpensive clothing available on the high street. I'd recommend Primark of you're looking for some cheap stuff for a holiday or something like that. It does get very busy on weekends. Very good location in the centre of Northumberland Street, it can be easily located by the hordes of dejected, soulless husks, that were men, that have been casually discarded at the stores main entrance. read more

You Brits got it good. I would stop by here several times a week. British fashion is a lot better than American fashion. I own both casual and dress wear from Primark, and when I wear the dress wear out (trousers, shirts, ties, etc), everyone thinks I paid a lot more than I actually did. The quality might not be top notch, but it is certainly still durable. Some people say you get what you pay for, but here you get a lot more. read more

This is a great shop if you want something that is in at the moment and that you might only were a few times Not as good a range as some of the others and you really have to come in early in the morning for things not to be strewn all over the place They do some nice little hand bags underwear and socks fab socks If you want some cheap jewerlly for a night out then this is the place to pick something up for a couple of quid Got a nice top and pants for a hen night here (policewoman) for a £5 each and you could actually wear them again They also do some quite nice shoes and my fav thing in my house are the fleecy blankets they do which are really warm and soft and only a £5 If you go upstairs the queues are better than downstairs normally Not expensive fashion but some nice things for an okay price read more

I could'nt believe my eyes when I first saw how cheap Primark was.Who cares if a top only lasts till you wash it,it's so cheap you can afford to throw it away but the stuff I've bought here has washed well.It's just amazing what you can find in here and even more amazing how cheap it is.There is loads of stock and the store is huge so your'e bound to come out with something.I tend to stick to tops and underwear,although I did get a lovely well fitting jacket last week for next to nothing.I don't find the cut of the skirts,trousers ect very good but perhaps that's just me.There are also childrens ,mens and homewear departments.The queues at the checkouts are usually vast but they always have a lot of assistants manning them so you get served realy quickly.Lifts and escalators for access. Primark is well known for its cheap prices and is, as a result, incredibly popular and you have to fight with hundreds of others to get to the shelves. This is a very large store which caters for children, men and children and also sells a large range of accessories. However, they were recently in the headlines when it was discovered that some of their clothes had been made by children in Indian sweatshops, despite Primark's apparent commitment to ethical issues. This has made many people think twice about shopping there and now take their business elsewhere. read more

They have got a fantastic range of kids clothing and you can even pick some items up in the sale at even better prices!!! Since the refit, this Primark has become one of my favourites. It's always so nice and tidy. Not only is it tidy, it always has plenty of every size and always has the new stock in so if I see something online I want I know it'll be in this Primark very soon. I am not a fan of this particular Primark store as you are never able to move on the first floor and there are always clothes lying everywhere and it is hard to find something you want. I do like going to the second floor though for some underwear as it is much tidier and less busy up there. The prices are really good and I tend to buy a lot my basics such as vest tops and tights from here. read more

This was always the Primark i used to visit before we got the one in Sunderland. I always used to get the metro just to visit this shop, a great big 2 leveled store with lots of choice and bargains to be picked up. There are always loads of staff on the tills, so even when the store is chokka block, you get served quite quick. A lovely selection of kids clothes and homewear, along with mens and womens clothing. You can even pick sale stuff up, which at Primark prices are a steal!! Definately a good shop to visit if you live close by, go and grab a bargain. read more

The arm pit of the fashion world, this shop wears bargains NOT deodrant. People shop here for cheap fashionable clothes and they flock here in masses, trampling over each other in the process. Stock is often left hanging off rails and let's face it, Primark wouldn't win the competition for the the tidiest shop in town. If I wanted to appear fashionable whilst I painted the garden fence, I could shop here to buy a plain t-shirt and a pair of jeans for a few quid. Although I'd probably be better of listening to the voices in my head and going for the white overalls look. Really cheap, wear once and never again. read more

The one main argument i have with this store above all else is the fact that its on the busiest shopping street in Newcastle, so surely they should make a bit more room inside the store to accomodate more people? No. They just pack even more in so you have to squeeze between rails of neon clothes and hot sweaty people to get anywhere. Really badly designed, staff are largely irritable and unfriendly. Avoid at all costs at busy times on the weekend and only venture there any other time if you are prepared for the barrage of chavs trying to sneak 50p underwear into their handbags. read more

Primark in Newcastle is a big 2 floored shop. However, the menswear section is a small bit at the back of the first floor, and is smaller than the menswear section in other primark's I've been to. Nonetheless its still easy to find good clothes. And better yet they're cheap as chips! Great for students and those short on pennies, lets just not think about the ethics eh?... read more
