Fenwick is a large department store, located in Newcastle city centre, it's spread over five floors and is one of the anchor stores at Eldon Square Shopping Centre. Fenwick as a brand has 8 locations across the country and was founded here in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This location is their flagship. The store has entrances on street level (Northumberland Street) as well as entrances from the mall. The store is open until 7 pm on most days, although opening hours can vary, this means they're generally open an hour later than John Lewis, which is the mall's other main department store. The store is fairly attractive, with modern and older parts and the selection again is reasonable. The renovation is starting to show which is ongoing to celebrate the store's 140th anniversary. The Food Hall area reminded me a little of a smaller version of Harrods, pricey for sure but they had a variety of items appearing to be high-quality, including some meats which looked of a fantastic quality. I love Fenwicks! It's a fantastic department store with everything you could need under one roof and my personal go to place for a cosmetics and clothes fix! Whether it be perfumes,international foods from the food hall or homeware products Fenwicks has it all. There's a great choice of places to dine too including an American diner and Cafe 21 for those who literally like to shop until they drop. Plus what a bonus!! Every Christmas time they unveil their Christmas window (which changes each year) and flood Northumberland street with the cheery sound of Christmas music! read more

Fenwick is such a huge store! With an entrance on Northumberland street and one that opens onto The Monument as well as having other exits and entrances into different parts of intu Eldon Square...to say the least, I get very lost when I go in there. To confuse matters, there's also steps and stairs taking you here, there and everywhere! I much prefer Bentalls but I can say, Fenwicks does have a range of good name concession stands (which follow with the price tag), a make-up floor, some cute bits and pieces of stationary and randomly, some food joints which includes a sushi joint that kind of smells up the place. The layout is pretty confusing so I haven't ventured in too many times. There's wifi in here but you have to sign-up and it takes a while to be connected... The Christmas window this past year was pretty cool though (not sure if it was worth the queues or the aggressive shoving!) The building front from Northumberland street is a looker, if nothing else, Fenwicks can offer a visually pleasing building to admire. read more

There make up department and perfum store is great they have lovely stuff in the food department and a wide range of whiskeys in the drinks shop. The toy shop is great, there is a hairdresses up there and a nice cafe The underwear shop is great, they offer a great bra fitting service and the changes rooms are large with good lighting The best bit is the toilets load of them and a seperate ladies waiting room which is massive with mirrors and chairs to wait in Great in the sales and who would do without fenwicks window read more

Fenwicks is a huge multi-level store. At Northumberland street level the food section is a brilliant place to get lush cream cakes and pastries. The small supermarket section leans towards selling organic and more unusual products, lots of locally produced stuff too, such as the Chain Bridge Honey Farm range of honey. Several independant clothing outlets on the same level here, many of them quite expensive. A new Yo-sushi bar has proved very popular! Upper levels have a toy and children's clothing department, and a furniture department. One level leads directly into Eldon Square, but it is easy to get lost in the vast store. I like Fenwick but a lot of the stuff they sell is not very competatively priced. The restaurants are very nice though and all the food is reasonable. It's good because you can get a full meal or just a sandwich or even just a cake and a coffee. Mmmm i love their cream cakes! At Christmastime, Fenwick also have their legendary 'Fenwick Window' that attracts a lot of children. Every year it is always beautifully decorated in a different style with a different theme but it is always very pretty and magical for the kids. Even if you don't want to shop in the store, it's still worth a look at the window on the main street! read more

The Fenwick building is a magnificent structure with beautiful stone work and intricate stained glass windows on the Northumberland Street facade. Fenwicks is a huge multi-level store with one of the biggest cosmetic halls in the country. The store offers a choice of restaurants, including a popular Yo-sushi bar located within the Food Hall. The Food Hall sells organic and unusual products, delightful pastries, local produce and a fantastic assortment of sweets; as well as containing a delicatessan with an enormous range of mouth watering treats. There is an entire floor of (quite expensive) ladies and mens fashion and accessories, as well as furniture, jewellery, china and gifts, a huge toy department, sports clothes and equipment, magazines and newspapers, children's clothing and babywear, household appliances, craft items, material, paint and DIY goods - it's got everything (but often at a price!) Definitely worth a visit just to see the magnificent facade and to taste the cream cakes. Fenwicks is definitely my go to shop in Newcastle. It has by far the largest collection of designer clothes in the city, although it doesn't match up to the bigger department stores such as selfridges, Bloomingdales etc for a small city it serves us well! I recommend popping to cafe 21 in there whilst you're about too, great food & service. read more

Listen, Im not one of THOSE American ex-pats that is all obnoxious about needing certain American food items, but it is awesome to see a place selling canned pumpkin pie filling or cornbread mix, just in case. Im totally down with the American food selection here, though it can be pricey. Prepare to pay £7.50 for a box of Lucky Charms. The good news is you can get stuff like Mountain Dew, Twizzlers and Reese's for a decent price. read more

Love Fenwick Newcastle, but dreadful customer service in Electrical Dept. Bought washing machine July 2017 & paid £25 for installation. New washer installed but engineers stated connection on old machine was not compatible with new. I could use new machine but would have to put dish underneath for leaking water! Told to arrange plumber myself! Plumber came same day. Had to pay £100 call out for part he valued at £6!! Had already paid Fenwick £25. Fail. Bought new gas cooker from Fenwick last week. Was told to contact store to have old cooker removed for £15 when gas fitters had installed new cooker. Duly visited store after installation as advised (re-iterated by delivery services) & told by rude assistant that they did not offer this service! Eventually she agreed but said salesman & warehouse staff had no right to offer this service! Would consider John Lewis for large goods in future. read more

The first floor Has Fenwicks French featuring High End clothing, underwear department, sungasses, watches, jewellery, bags, ladies shoes and clothing, you will find concessions here like TopShop, Oasis, Warehouse, Karen Millen, Levis, Wheels and Doll baby and many more. Fenwicks is great- a department store with all sorts, which caters for designer lable lovers and grannies a-like!! It has a food hall with lots of nice food, chocolates etc, a makeup floor, underware department, haberdashery, clothes for men and women of all ages. Fenwicks is easily the best department store in Newcastle. With a variety of departments and concession stands there is something to suit everyone. All of the leading highstreet names can be found here as well as some more up market names. The food court provdies a wide range of fresh and frozen foods, as well as luxuary food items. There are also several food and drink services including a YD sushi bar and a coffee shop. Thelayout is well structured with floors being devoted to a particular audience. read more

The Food Hall is a must, it has allsorts of goodies. It seems to stock everything, Fresh Meat, Veg, Cheeses, Cold meats, Freshly gound coffees. This I think is the biggest department store in Newcastle which is partly the reason I get lost in it. There are numerous floors of high quality products ranging from cosmetics, clothes, electronics, homeware, toys and much more. This of one of them shops you can easily spend a good few hours in. The staff always smile and say hi as your walk past. If you need a lot of different items when your in town this would be the one place that is likely to have all of them under one roof. read more

I have found this shop to be competitent on price though I have found that day to day items are cvheaper but its ideal for that large purchase one may need time to time. The one thing I didnt like was the security guard following me all over the shop, fair enough they have the right to protect their property but following a lady who shops in tyhe store regularly and has nothing to hide nor did I have a bag on this last visit. I will be hearing about a complaint about this sometime this week thus the low rating. read more

The only good thing about this place is the not so cheap pick n mix which is located on the ground floor in the food hall. Apart from that, there is very little good, only rich of the poor kind. I remember when the toy floor was good, back in the day when it was bigger. Sometimes I try and use Fenwicks as a shortcut but rarely succeed since it's one of those 'no matter how hard you try, you're gonna get lost' kind of worlds. This world is for you if you have money in your back burner or in most cases, Gucci purses. It's also great if you enjou expensive coffee, 85p canks of coke and a bit a natter. read more

Used to be a regular shopper at Fenwick's Newcastle Upon Tyne - bought leather furniture, lighting, foothall food, cafe, restaurant, all departments basically just because my husband's a bit of a snob. However, we wanted to buy a standing lamp in the sale but the one on display was dented quite badly next to the bulb and it was the only one in that shade of colour so we asked for a discount. The shop assistants kindly obliged and went to find the manager to ask, but came back saying the manager has refused a discount. So we decided to buy the one in a different shade in storage, same price, undamaged! Consequently, I wrote an email complaining that it is not the standard we expect of Fenwick's, being the reputation of a high-quality store, to refuse a discount on a damaged display model when there was an undamaged alternative in stock albeit in a different shade of colour. This was the reply: "Yogesh did not believe that the item needed to be reduced any further and this was purely a commercial decision and we are both sorry that you were disappointed by this and do hope that you will not be deterred from shopping on our Lighting Department again in the future." If they don't want to discount it then it should not be on sale/displayed in a store which we believed (until recently) to be of a high standard. My views of Fenwick's has changed dramatically, its standard of goods, its standard of service is not worth the price of its products and its image that it is trying to portray. Since then I have noticed that other products on display is lacking class, e.g. a cat doorstopper has sticky white paper marks on its body. My husband still wants to wander around the store, but I refuse point-blank at actually purchasing anything now. Try Lewis's, formerly Bainbridges, a much classier store with excellent customer service and look for yourself - much happier staff! So disappointed with Fenwick's. read more

Fenwicks is a Newcastle institution. It is a massive shop selling almost anything over all the different floors. Probably best known for its Christmas window display which is always a sight to behold. Pretty easy to get lost in though due to the size and the number of entrances. read more

Fenwick store is not a store that I like to visit to be honest. It is expensive place to shop I think. It is not as expensive as Marks & Spencers and House of Frasers though. But, certainly it is not the cheapest. It offers a good variety of goods. Worth to look at if you want to get christmas gift ideas. The food hall is nice, but once again it's not cheap. The store is pretty big, I got lost several times. The best thing about Fenwick store is its christmas display. When it comes to near Christmas, the marvelous display is at its window. I can rate Fenwick's christmas window display the best in north east I believe. read more
