This is a really nice, unique and interesting little shop on Yarm High Street. It's located near to Boots and the Black Bull.
I'm not really sure how best to describe it as it sells so many different types of things, it's hard to categorise! They sell gifts, lots of cuddly toys, posh notebooks, diaries and calendars. They also have lots of wonderful little toys and puzzles, the type of thing you might find in party bags, or stocking fillers. If you've ever seen the Hawkins Bazaar catalogue, you'll know what I mean. They also have a nice range of greeting cards.
They have a nice selection of gift books, mostly cartoon joke books. They also have some really nice books about Yarm itself. I think Strickland and Holt's actually published them, but I'm not certain. The books have lots of old photos showing Yarm in the past, and it's really fascinating.
Then as you move to the back of the shop they have a really nice gift section with all kinds of ornaments, and seasonal decorations. At Christmas they have a lovely selection of Christmas decorations, and at Halloween they had loads of witchy things!
They have a jewellery section and a clothing section. These, it has to be said, are very expensive, and ever so slightly out of my price range!
Upstairs there is a really nice cafe, a great place for a morning coffee and a chat with a friend.
It's really a lovely little shop. The only downside is that most of the stuff is so expensive. read more
