Short and sweet - just make the effort to stop. It's hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a long long time. It's in a league of its own quite frankly. It starts with that grill and im telling you they knew how to season it. Not much i can add to this review other than its everything the other reviews already capture...and more. The warm welcoming to the amazing food - start to finish - all exceptional. Get the onion rings, get the fries and have to burger!! It's also dog friendly so you don't have to eat in your car to keep the hound cool! They brought out fresh water for him and just made all of us more than welcome!! We will always make a point to stop here - it's a no brainer!! Wow!!

Stopped in for a quick bite and couldn't resist the mighty Rancher breakfast. This really is enough food for two but I was a savage today. Try it sometime, you won't regret it! Delicious and filling with plenty of fresh coffee. Thank you once again Spencer Grill!

Wow great service and very friendly! The food was excellentl If you are REALLY hungry try the 20 oz ham steak and eggs! What huge portions My wife had a burger and fries they were also large and delicious If you are hungry You have try this place, I doubt you will be disappointed!!

This is a teeny tiny town with 1 old fashioned gas pump. I guess this grill will be closing and selling soon. I believe it it the only restaurant in Spencer. It is family owned and operated. The top floor is the restaurant and downstairs is their home. I laughed when I saw that people would ride their Polaris to come eat. The owners were pretty friendly. My daughter and I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with tater tots and I ordered a small breakfast with french toast, bacon and egg. Was just the right size. Also the flavor of the food was very tasty. Too bad they have to close.

Dog friendly! Nicest ice cream waitresses Rhylee and Layten! Ask for them if you go. And who says Americans don't want to work- they are hard workers at making everyone human and canine feel welcome!. If you and your dogs are on I-15 near the Idaho- Montana border and it is time for a break and some food this is your place!!

This business has been closed for several years & just reopened. The new owners have done a fantastic job remodeling- it is bright, welcoming & CLEAN. The restrooms have also been upgraded. We stopped to grab lunch & the food was great! The hamburgers were freshly made - not frozen hockey pucks. Delish!!!! They offer wine & beer currently & are awaiting a liquor license. This is a place you can feel comfortable taking your kids. Stop if you are traveling through - you won't be disappointed. Driving from AZ to MT and we found this gem on Yelp! Road construction made it a little tricky to get to it but it was worth it in the end. We had the potato skins and a burger. Both very delicious. Friendly staff as well! read more

Stopped by for lunch on a trip north... and very glad we did!! Service great, food great, good portion size, and... GREAT french fries!!! Prices very reasonable, clean bathroom. This is a very worthy stop if you need a break from the road. They have a full bar as well! I'd eat here again in a heartbeat! read more

Great burgers & sandwiches! We had the best little waitress (grandaughter of manager) we could ask for!!! She greeted our 6 dogs (amongst family members) & brought them water. My Wife & I were on a road trip to Glacier National Park from Arizona in late June 2017. We stopped in another little town South of here and found nothing. The next exit was in Spencer, so would we be lucky? We spotted the Spencer Grill on the South side of the highway--what the heck, we'll try it! So glad we did as the restaurant appeared very clean and friendly. Now the big question, what to order? My wife order the BLT and it had 12 pieces of BACON! I ordered a cheese, bacon burger with fries. All items are cooked to order so they arrive HOT! Service was great and the restrooms were clean! If you're in the area, this is the place to stop and get refreshed! read more

We were driving from Breckenridge, CO to Butte, MT trying to make time on our 14 hour drive and passed Rexburg heading North. I found a dearth of dining options at 7PM with my intermittent Google access and discovered The Spencer Grill. Ordered by phone to pick up at 7:30. Amazing food! Unbelievable to find one of the best char grilled burgers I've ever had in this lonely outpost at the edge of the Montana and Idaho border. The frys were yummy and the pool table was fun! I totally wish this place was in my home town but at least I know where I will be stopping on my future Montana expeditions. YUMM! read more

My only complaint is that the other reviews didn't go on enough about what a gem this spot is! Food is made to order, but fast! Breakfast all day- so if you have a dietary need in the middle of no where you're covered. Full bar. Spotlessly clean. And yes, incredibly nice. Fries are hand cut and the cook grilled my jalapeños for my burger cause that's how he likes them. He was right! read more

We stopped here on our way to northern Montana to grab a quick bite. Service was excellent - we were able to sit on the outside patio with our dog and they even brought a bowl of water for him. Food was also delicious - we ordered a French dip and a burger and both were excellent! read more

While traveling through from Southern California to Montana we stopped in this little diner for breakfast. They were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions. We stopped at Spencer Grill while on a road trip. There were not many restaurants during our drive, and we were glad to come upon a place with good Yelp reviews. The service was slow, but the food was really good. My son had the chicken nuggets, and they were fantastic. We also ordered grilled cheese, pulled pork special, and the monte crispy, all good. I wouldn't hesitate to stop there again. read more

Stopped at Spencer Grill for breakfast off I15 in Idaho. Wow! All the breakfast's were great and tasty! Chicken fried steak and eggs...yummy....eggs and bacon the Best with4 large pieces of thick bacon....Breakfast sausage the size we have never seen before and the ham and eggs unbelievable! The owner very hospitable and friendly! Well worth the stop off the interstate and well worth a drive just to eat here! Exit 180 off I15 in Idaho you will love it! Don't be fooled by the looks of the outside....newly remodeled and clean and fresh on the inside. read more

The service was SLOW - bartender said it would be a bit / I didn't realize that meant 50 minutes. With 3 Grand kids and a daughter I would have moved on if I had known. When I mentioned this fact the guy got all upset with me trying to justify his service - final kicker / after I paid and walked away he tells my daughter to never come back again - he won't serve us‼Food was good, but with an attitude like that, he doesn't have to worry about telling us not to return. read more

When we arrived, the last table was just getting up to leave. Food was ok, there was 12 of us. They could not handle the party. They gave us attitude because we did not call ahead. Never received one of the meals. The one chef took offense to us asking about the missing breakfast and once again told us that's why we were to call ahead. We left what was considered to be an unacceptable tip on the table and the chef with the attitude chased us into the parking lot to return the tip to us. read more

You have two choices of where to eat in Spencer Idaho. I have been to both as we go camping near there several times a year.vi would definitely choose the Spencer grill (log cabin look) over the other white buiding one. There food is much much better and they treat you as customers should be treated. They are family friendly so you don't have to worry about kids acting like kids even when they are polite. The other cafe doesn't really like kids and the locals are grumpy at any noise children make. Not here, they have TV's on to watch, a pool tabke, and a bar area of you drink. They have great fluffy pancakes and their Philly cheese steak is also good. Our friends like the finger steaks. read more

We had a really great breakfast here, French toast and #3. Service was good and the ambiance as well. Our Garmin GPS didn't list this place and we would have missed it if we hadn't also checked Yelp. Hope the owner contacts Garmin to rectify this because it would be a shame if you missed it. The hamburgers looked really good too. read more

It was a weekday and we arrived an hour before closing without a reservation... it was packed, but a few tables looked open. However, they told us they weren't sure if we'd get a table since there were other parties waiting. We decided to take a flier and wait anyway since it was late. 20 minutes later, we were seated. Our server was very chipper and friendly, gave recommendations, and was proactive about letting us know what they'd run out of. (In my opinion, a place that runs out of some ingredients is a signal that they serve things fresh or not at all, a green flag.) My partner and I each got a variety of the chicken sandwich, while our friends shared the steak. Portions were large, chicken and steak was cooked appropriately, and the fries were some of the best any of us have ever had. All in all, we were glad we decided to forego the tourist traps closer to the park entrance. Anglers Riverfront was wonderful. We were even lucky enough to glimpse the sunset across the river while we ate, and we left happy with full bellies just before they closed up for the night. Once the waitress from the restaurant showed up with our order, Jan offered to pay our bill in cash and she would just add it to our tab, simplifying the whole transaction for everyone involved. We GREATLY appreciated this since we were paying with a card. During our time in the Imperial we chatted with Jan and some of her other patrons as well as got to get to know her two adorable pups, Belle and Reo (as in Speedwagon). We are SO GLAD we stumbled upon this place and hope to be back again one day.

They have good prices for drinks including $3 wells, $8 pitchers, $2.50 cans, $2.75 bottles, and $7.50 pizzas per their fridge. I mainly ate the Bison Burger which was rich and tasty. I got it well done. It was very rich and…read morethe cheese went well with it. I would say though that bison meat is on the drier side, so the veggies on the side of the plate and my drink (just water lol) were quite useful. The onion rings I got were crispy as well. The restaurant is nicely decorated with taxidermied animals such as moose and a bison head. If it hadn't rained we could have potentially sat outside where the outdoor seating is riverside. The waiter also checked in every now and then making the service great. The Jalapeño Chicken Sandwich I took a few bites out of. It was also great and I liked that the jalapeños were fresh not pickled.

There are only a few bars in Saint Anthony so I didn't have too many options but I'm glad I stumbled upon this place! It's your typical dive bar with pool tables (50 cents a game), darts, and TVs for sports. Their wells are $3 which is always a great price and they also have happy hour from 5-7pm which is 50 cents off wells. My bartender Abby was also amazing! We had some great conversations and we realized we were both huge true crime fans and were talking about a particular active case local to Saint Anthony/Rexburg (Mommy Doomsday anyone?). The locals at the bar were very welcoming to out-of-towners which is always a good feeling, and you have great conversations with random strangers which make for the best memories. This is a fun place!
