However, the staff (especially Mike) were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction, and even found and gave some nice opals to us. Ultimately, we found a good amount of gem grade opal--enough to offset the fees paid for mining for it. I will have many hours of cutting ahead of me and anticipate many fine stones coming out of the material that we found. Overall, it was a good experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to acquire some opal rough and experience the mining process. As a side note, they do provide a nice lunch and beverages to keep you hydrated during hot weather.

The pink opal is the rarest. They have the triplet opal, never knew it existed, looks dark and mysterious. Staff member waited on me. He had an opal pendant dangling on him. He was helpful and friendly and attentive too. They were putting together some marquis shaped dangle earrings on sterling silver posts. The pink gold is available, but the backings are white gold. It's an additional $100 or so. I settled on the sterling silver post and marquis since they had no earrings readily available with the white gold posts or sterling silver posts. $200 for the small dangling sterling silver opal earrings.

Spencer grill This RV park is a little gem. I found it on…read morethe Harvest Host website and when I checked for availability they were showing full. So I took a chance and called just to see if maybe they could fit us in for one night. I spoke to Jess and she allowed as to how she could make room for us but it may be without any hookups. I told her that was fine with us and asked if a spot with hookups came available could she please put us in it. After I hung up I realized that I did not give her my phone number so I called back. Jess said that she did indeed have a full hookup space and that she had already moved us into it. When we arrived we were greeted by Brad the bar tender. He directed us to our spot and told us they were open and serving food until 10:00. Once we got settled we went back in for dinner. We had fish & chips, wings and Matt's hot chicken sandwich. The food was good and the service was even better and pretty fast. It is located about 1/3 mile from the I-15 exit ramp. The scenery is awesome, and considering how close to the freeway it is it was decently quiet. We will definitely stay here again.
