Came here with two friends after a day at Yellowstone and I'm very shocked at what the older lady behind the counter said to us as we checked out. The old woman decided it was appropriate to tell us how much she hates tax, how she is REPUBLICAN because they're "hard workers", etc etc. I countered her statement by even adding how immigrant families across the country are are all hard working as well to push her buttons after not wanting to hear her political beliefs. From there she countered with how her family aren't immigrants but they were here first! WOW. I'm sure she'd be the first to tell you she's the least racist person alive, but her subtle racism and strong political opinions should not be demonstrated nor shared to customers choosing to patronize their souvenir shop. All of my friends looked at eachother in disgust while she was making these comments. Also, let's not forget she would occasionally take her mask off when she was speaking as if we couldn't understand or hear her with it on? I read some reviews from another source on this location and was not surprised by seeing some poor reviews in regards to how people were treated or racist actions. Disgusting. I hope these people get out of their small town bubble and open their minds. read more

The best place for souvenirs is this shop. They have everything from key chains, t-shirst, mugs, postcards, Yellowstone figurines, rocks, huckleberry products, bags, hats, books, and some native American jewelry. The people that work here are so welcoming and nice. We met a couple that works together here and they were so lovely. read more

When you are on vacation, and just want to shop, you certainly don't want to be accosted with Trump/conservative republican garbage. I was drawn aside by an elderly clerk, and was told the reason why nearby Yellowstone park was so crowded was that the liberal rangers were letting all the liberals in. This is the best place to get souvenirs and gifts. It's right in the middle of town, with plenty of parking all around. But what makes the store is the staff. The owner is a sweet lady that just loves chatting. It felt good supporting such a nice person. read more

This store is located inside of the Canyon Square Mall. The Cradleboard is basically a giant souvenir and gift shop and it's got some cool stuff to look at. They have postcards, books, mugs, wood carvings of little bears, stone and minerals, t-shirts, hats, bags, etc. Some of the shirts that they had were really funny - like one that said "Bears Love People" and the bear is chasing a human. They had a lot of jewelry also, many that had a Native American theme look to it. They also were selling really pretty dreamcatchers. This is a good place to stop and purchase some gifts to bring back home. Or a fun place to just browse. read more

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!! The cashier charged us 12.44 for a 3.99 item, then when I called him out he only gave us $4 back, he should have given back $8. Easy scam since most customers are tourists and won't notice. Make sure they read back the total to you before you give them your card. read more

NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. Extremely rude older man behind the counter kicked my family out as the younger kids had pressed the "press here"-labeled plush toys that were being displayed at their eye level. My kids were in the act of putting them back and had not touched any of the pretty rocks or collectibles as they know how to behave (mostly). No warning, just a sudden and very rude "out" with no explanation or humanity. When asked what was wrong he mumbled something about touching inventory. He wouldn't give his name when asked and just kept grumbling "out". We have been repeat customers for years (my wife literally wearing the last ring she bought here). I'm glad he decided to be so rude right as we were buying some jewelry. He not only lost that sale that would more than have made up for any potential issue with wearing out a display battery, but we will NEVER return to such a family-unfriendly store as long as this man works there. Too bad, because the jewelry lady was wonderful and only had to accept the card we were handing her to close her sale. Looking at other reviews, it seems we are not the only ones who have been treated this way by this man who is obviously unfit for the stresses of family oriented retail. May as well post a sign saying CHILDREN NOT WELCOME until this man is gone. read more

As far as tourist town gift shops go The Cradleboard was as good as I've seen. They offer many Yellowstone souvenirs as well reasonably priced Native American crafted jewelry. They had large selection of knives that were also inexpensive. If you want to cover all your souvenir shopping at one store this is the spot. read more

I recently visited this shop and had a conversation with the owner. The discussion was lively and informative and made me glad I shopped there. The service was excellent and the atmosphere friendly and accommodating. It was nothing like the story made up by Hannah B. a couple of years ago. Hannah B. obviously has a burr under her saddle. This is the best gift shop in West Yellowstone, MT. They are super friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. They have everything you could possibly imagine to take back to your family and friends after your vacation to Yellowstone National Park. Their selection of Native American Jewelry and Zuni Fetishes is rivaled only by the jewelry and fetishes found on the reservations of the Southwest.
