MOUNT HOLLY: another day in NJ, another wonderful brewery! Spellbound Brewing allows leashed-dogs at their charming outdoor area decked out with picnic tables and umbrellas. There are over 20 beers on tap and the Quad +1 Fifth anniversary beer was really good and well balanced. Bring home a growler, cans, bottles, and even a keg for your next puppy party!

I've known the name for years & was happy to finally stop into their location! Finally got a chance to visit Spellbound Brewery in Mount Holly, and had a fantastic experience! The location was top-notch, with plenty of parking and a welcoming atmosphere. Parked in the back and made my way through their canning area. Looks like there is a second entryway that gets you right into the tasting room but my first time attending, I didn't realize that. Very spacious in there and looks like they host special events as they had a few cornhole boards off to the side and a couple of picnic tables. The tasting room was also spacious, I'd say about 10 tables for groups of 2-6, and then the bar area which had an additional 20 seats. Right behind the bar had a lot of wall decor and a wide selection of beers on tap to choose from. You were able to scan a QR code to see their full list or they had 2 TVs displaying their options at the end of the bar as well. I also appreciated that the brewery was dog-friendly, making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends and their furry companions. It was great to see a venue that catered to groups, with samplers available for those who wanted to try a bit of everything. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the various brews on offer but also chatted about the ingredients with other patrons and similar brands, which made for a great experience. If you're in the area, definitely worth the trip. There are a few other breweries and distilleries all in the area and worth the walk between them if you've got the warm weather to enjoy as well.

A custom flight

Some of the best tasting beers on the East Coast! The owners was friendly and super knowledgeable about the beers and flavors to help build the perfect flight. Personal favorite was Midnight Mole'. The friendly people really made a out of towner feel welcome. 5 stars!!!

Took a visit here on a Saturday around 3 PM. There were still a couple tables both open for outdoor and indoor seating. We walked up to the bar and decided to try the pumpkin ale and the lemon clementine. Later we also decided to try the quad. My boyfriend was a fan of his pumpkin ale. I also liked my lemon clementine because it was light and not too heavy. Staff were polite and helpful. Will most likely be returning for future weekend activities.

I was having so much fun I forgot to take more photos! This was a super cool brewery. They have a couple areas of outdoor seating and the indoor area. The night I came here there was a live band in one section of the indoor area and in a separate section you could still sit by the bar, high too, or normal level table. They have games to play, we chose beer trivia and a fridge with pre packaged beer cans for purchase. High quality beer, I had a mango ale but my husband says they have the best IPAs. This was also a kid friendly brewery!

Not bad! I stopped by Spellbound Brewing after I saw an advertisement at Rancocas Nature Preserve. I'm glad I stopped. It is located in a industrial strip mall but they reallt turned the outside of their location into looking nice. Small and quaint inside with friendly bartenders who wore masks. Bathrooms were clean and handicap accessible. I tried the holiday Cranberry Heifiwesser and really enjoyed my light tasting drink. Purchased pumpkin ale to go. Would be back. Check their hours.

Small cozy tasting room. Great staff. Good selection of beers. A few hazies, pilsners, stouts, fruity drinks. They have corn hole tournament during the week.

Very disappointed. My boyfriend and I love checking out new local brewery's. Took a drive up there today. We didn't even get greeted when we walked in or checked on the whole time we were there. The bar tender was drunk and cursing and talking about inappropriate things. I felt super uncomfortable and couldn't stay any longer. There was a roaming cat that had a cat door to the back of the brewery. I'm super allergic to cats and started itching and breaking out in hives. Just very disappointed and left feeling uncomfortable and covered in itchy bumps . On top of getting a private message. " this isn't for me".

One of my favorite breweries of the many popping up is Spellbound. Starting with the very cool servers that are welcoming and chatty. The small sized setting gives off the 'come in and get comfy' vibe. Spellbound flights are at a under $10 rate but some of the selections, for example a pricier stout, charge a slightly larger increase. No food is on site but is allowed. The favorites for me: Porter Aged, Peach Citra Pale Ale and Belgium Cherry Tripel. Dude and I agreed that Oatmeal Raisin Cookie can be skipped.

Tall lanky bartender rocks (with a plug nose). Lots of fun - varied music - Tried the Saturday Firkin - Bourbon Barrel Mayan Cocoa Livivingthedream?! Imperial Stout .... outrageously complex & grand. Some special bottles to go and "lanky# bartender #spellbound #mountholly

From left: Peach IPA, Tripel, Coffee Porter (Firkin), Cherry Chocolate Porter (Firkin).

Spellbound is enchanting. Did I just choose the most cliche opening statement possible? OH. WELL. It has been a couple weeks now since my visit to this brewery and I'm still daydreaming about these fantastic brews. [No, really. I'm half serious.] My desire to visit the brewery skyrocketed after trying their Porter at the AC Beer & Music Fest. Later, their IPAs were provided at the Rockhill Yelp event and it became that much more necessary to visit. The morning of the Yelper-outing, I found their current tap list online, made my picks, headed over to Mt. Holly, found their lot with no problem, and excitedly walked in. A couple minutes later, I ordered my $7 flight without looking at the board once: Peach IPA, NJCB Belgian Tripel, Coffee Porker (firkin) and Cherry Chocolate Porter (firkin). Picked that pretty thing up, walked it to a table and... yeah. Just great. All of them. Every last one of them. A standout? The cherry chocolate porter. Like no beer I've had before. So, yes. Visit Spellbound. The building isn't spectacular. The parking lot is a little weird. The space itself isn't large. But this place is just all around awesome and I wish them all the luck. Not that they need it, since they obviously cast a spell on everyo---okay I'm done.

Once again, I had a great experience at this brewery! This time I tried the Peach Double IPA, which is every tastier than the original Peach. The South Jersey Double IPA was also a new one on the menu, and lived up to my expectations. They really know how to brew a tasty IPA with not too much hoppy flavor. The Cherry Belgian Tripel was just as good as I remember. Cherry is such an unexpectedly great match with beer. The last sample I tried was the Lemongrass Ginger Pale Ale. I could really taste the hints of ginger and was super stoked about this flavor! The atmosphere was super laid back and there was indoor and outdoor seating options. I will be returning to try some of the other new beers and bring some friends along for the ride!

Stop #4 on our quest to visit NJ breweries. This is more of a traditional brewery in that you could see all the tanks and such from the tasting room. Our prediction is that this is the next up and comer ready to be discovered in the local beer world. The long bar of the tasting room meant you didn't feel crowded, and if you did, there is outdoor seating and small tables to sit. Like other breweries, no food is served (by law) but you may bring your own and clean up after yourself. The servers were very knowledgeable and very friendly here. The guy who took our order and served us was super great. We felt like long time customers or friends and could have spent a bit more time here. 4 tasting glasses for $7 turned into a growler for home for $20 ($15 if we had brought our own 32 oz). I got a growler of their Palo Santo Porter, which to me tastes like chocolate coconut. It is amazing. AMAZING, I tell you! They were out of the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie so we tried the peach IPA, Mango Pale Ale, the Collaboration Triple, and the Palo Santo Porter. All were good, but I was instantly in love with the Palo Santo Porter. In fact, I am drinking it now as I write this review at 12:23 in the afternoon. Definitely visit this place!

Yes we are. Ideally well behaved children :) We do not have any soft drinks/soda. Just our beer. Thanks

Hard to tell exactly when it opened, as their website offers scant information, but they first started posting on Facebook in 2011 if that is anything to go by. They don't have a large footprint in the NJ brewing scene as they don't distribute to any liquor stores or bars/restaurants (they don't even offer beers in cans to go), and they don't do any big events other than the typical karaoke or trivia nights. What they do offer is a nice place to hang out in an old historic building right on the Main Street in the downtown area, and a solid lineup of beers. One thing that makes them stand out is a great selection of beers on nitro. From my experience with NJ breweries, you're lucky to find a single beer on nitro. At Village Idiot there are seven of them, most of them dessert stouts like a cookie butter white stout and a salted caramel milk stout. All that we tried were delicious and not crazy high in ABV like other dessert stouts. Flights are only $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other NJ breweries. Of note is that as of November 2025 they no longer allow outside drinks including water bottles like Nalgenes and Stanley Cups. Too many idiots sneaking in alcohol, according to their social media. Overall it has a bit more of a dive bar vibe only frequented by locals rather than a traditional NJ brewery, but the beer is definitely good enough, and the surrounding Main Street charming and quaint enough that I would definitely return.

The barn itself is beautiful in that honest, weathered way. Big old beams, lots of natural light, and plenty of space to spread out. We grabbed a flight and headed outside, where you can sit at picnic tables, watch the cows, and just take in the quiet. It feels rural without feeling remote -- a great change of pace. The beer is solid across the board. Nothing felt rushed or gimmicky. The IPA was bright and easy to drink, the blonde was clean and refreshing, and the darker beers had depth without being heavy. Knowing they grow their own barley on site and brew on a traditional system somehow makes it all taste a little better. What really sticks with you is the experience. You can smell hay, hear the animals, feel the breeze -- this isn't a themed "farm-style" brewery, it's the real thing. It's relaxed, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming. Staff were friendly and happy to talk beer without hovering. It's also a great spot to bring family or friends who aren't hardcore beer people. There's room to wander, things to look at, and a general store next door if you want to take something home. If you're looking for flashy hype beers, this might not be your place. But if you want good beer, a beautiful setting, and a reminder that craft brewing can still feel grounded and human, Needle Creek is well worth the trip.

They have some beers available in cans and certain special releases in bottles. I think they particularly excel in stouts. When we were there they had two imperial stouts that were out of this world. They do an all stouts weekend every November so if stouts are your thing definitely keep an eye out for that.

While we were seated outside it was very quiet (everyone was inside) one other person came out to enjoy the outdoors and started smoking. At any brewery where we are from in NY smoking is prohibited even in the outdoor seating, so that was disappointing. It wasn't a bad brewery, but our visit wasn't impressive.
