Only problem was that dealer was 4 hours away. Called and spoke to Nathan at around 4:00pm. That's when the over the top exceptional customer service experience began. We had recently thought we found a vehicle only to arrive at dealer and find the car was sold. Expressed our concern that this might happen again. Nathan explained the VA Select Policy of not "holding" a car if someone came into lot and wanted to purchase. What he did do, was commit to letting us know upon closing that evening (via text), that the car was in fact still available and we could commit to driving there in the morning. But that wasn't good enough for Nathan. He also went the extra mile and took a picture of a scratch he noticed on the vehicle and sent us pictures. Said he would ask the body shop to buff it out first thing in the morning. We texted Nathan when we departed our house at 6:30am (they don't open until 9) and he was then able to remove it from the lot so no one could purchase since we were now enroute. Upon arriving to the location after 4-hour drive, the first thing we say at the entrance was a shiny, newly detailed Dodge Charger. My son was very excited and Nathan proceeded to give us a 30-minute certificate to do a test drive. This completely suprised us, as our experience had been drive around the block with saleperson hovering in back seat. Son was convinced it was the car after driving it for 5 minutes. Upon our return, Nathan offered us beverages and escorted us to his desk for the daunting "sign and make it yours experience". Not once did we feel pressure. No haggling was required (we knew this before we came), and Nathan patiently answered each and every question. Once the paperwork was complete and ready for us to go to the financing department, we all went outside and talked about the car some more. Nathan shared several personal stories with our family and we were happy that we had him as our salesperson. But it didn't stop there. Once Finanace was ready for us, Nathan took it upon himself to take the vehicle to the the nearby service station and top of the gas tank. Outstanding. The financing process was quick and painless as we had pre-approval for the loan. Robert Seeney (F & I Manager) took over from there and made sure all the paperwork was in order since we were from out of state. He was extremely professional and had the personality of someone who took the customer service experience seriously. Bottom line is that our experience with Virginia Select Auto was exceptionally pleasant and we would hope that everyone would get the opportunity to work with Nathan if in the market to purchase a car. Their no-pressure process is something we will never forget. Thank you VA Select Auto!

When you follow the online prompts to sell a car, you think that CARMAX will get the job done…read more I wound up selling my car to a junker. The online tool stated that they would pick up my car, for a $199 fee. On the day of the appointment they reneged on that offer and they could not provide me a good reason. I was told, "It could be a number of factors." I filled the online application and was offered $1700. When my daughter arrived at CARMAX, (having payed $115 for a ten mile tow), CARMAX said they could not take the car because it hadn't been registered in Va. The car had been parked, legally, at my am daughter's home. The DMV was notified and plates, tags were removed. The car had been parked for 2 years. I've seen CARMAX in Spotsylvania County purchase a used 'car, that had not been registered for 18 months. They told my friend not to worry about it- that they'd take care of it. She was purchasing another car from them. I guess that makes CARMAX's decision much easier. No one at the CARMAX in Midlothian could make that decision. I wound up selling the car well below that offer of $1700 - but I had to get it done because my daughter sold the home where it was parked. This leaves a very bad taste in my mouth about CARMAX. My older vehicle had 72k miles on it (and was a 2006). The hood of the car needed painting - no body damage, no accident. A good auto, with title in hand. When I purchase my car, I will not use CARMAX.

I called around to a few places to find a place that worked on diesel cars and they said they did. When I showed up there was lots of confusion about my car. Wrong parts were used and eventually they determined they didn't have the part my car needed. I was advised to come back the next day, still no part. Day 3 at first they told me they didn't have the part then a second person came to correct the first so I was finally able to get my oil change. I thought everything was good until I went to get my car inspected...something was wrong with my car. Wrong filter and I had an oil leak (I'm not a car person but I'm pretty sure that was it). So I had to take my car to VW to get the work done correctly. This place was a waste if my time and money. I would never return.

I pulled in and was immediately greeted by a tech to tell me which lane to go in. I only had waited about 5 minutes until the car in front of me was done. I pulled in and the tech was super friendly. I asked a lot of questions and he answered all of them. I believe his name was Nathan and he was one of the assistant managers. I literally sat in my car the whole time and was in and out literally in 10-15 minutes!! They don't just do oil changes, he checked all of my lights, horn, signals etc. Also, if you are a first time customer, you get $5 off! I'm glad I stumbled across this place because I will definitely be coming back!! *This place is also Veteran owned and operated, much respect!*

And the bad part about this is I don't drive the car every day and have put on Less than 100 miles on it. Very Disappointed. Here's an update. Harry at va cars in Hopewell sent my Mustang to the Midlothian service shop. They fixed it and Harold took it back to Hopewell. I picked it up and have driven it with out breaking down and needing a tow. It feels good and drives good. Harry, Harold, Sean, Jamie and Jamie took care of me and my Mustang . Mustang Sally is on the road again Here is an update. Mustang Sally has been raring to go !!! . She hums when she is galloping at 80 mph. I love Sally and she is doing great so far. I came into your dealership not having stellar credit after being invited to receive a voucher to help with my current situation and potentially purchase a vehicle. During my visit, I was told I would need a co-signer. When that option didn't work out, I was assured that you would continue exploring other financing options and that I would be contacted "either way." I had an appointment on Friday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Today is Tuesday, May 5, and I have not received any follow-up. The issue here isn't just about whether or not I was approved. It's about communication and basic customer service. If you tell a customer you'll follow up "either way," that commitment should be honored. A quick call or message would have shown professionalism and respect for my time. Customer service matters, regardless of the outcome. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that. This review will also be shared on Yelp.

I filled out the credit application and was approved for the 2026 Mustang GT Premium. I flew in from out of state (California) and James actually picked me up from the airport early the next morning. We went straight to the dealership where I made my purchase. I'm taking the time to write this review because from the moment I began this journey with James and Stockton, it was the "absolute" best customer service that I've ever received. These guys were amazing and I must add that the entire staff there was great. I'm a 60 year old man who pays close attention to the way I'm treated especially when I'm about to spend my hard earned money. I have nothing but great things to say about these guys (James and Stockton) along with the entire staff there at Sheehy Ford of Richmond Virginia as the entire atmosphere was warm, professional and inviting. I'd definitely recommend to anyone considering buying a Ford to come here where you won't get pressured but you will be treated the absolute best by James, Stockton and the entire team there at Sheehy Ford of Richmond Virginia. Because of my amazing experience I'll fly in again and again for all my future purchases (by the way this was Mustang #7, I think I like Mustangs). Thanks again to James and Stockton.

I've always expected better from Sheehy, but this recent experience was really disappointing. They…read morepicked up my truck using their valet service, which I thought was a great convenience at first. However, they got it to the dealership first thing in the morning, but I was told at around 5pm when I was supposed to have it back they didn't have the parts in stock. That's fine -- it happens -- but instead of letting me know so I could get the car back and use it until they had the parts, they kept my vehicle sitting there for a full day doing nothing. This is both my work and personal vehicle, so that lack of communication really put me in a bind. When I finally got the truck back over two days later, the driver dropped it off with only 4 miles of gas left until empty. I don't expect anyone to fill up my tank, but come on -- at least add a couple ounces of gas so the customer can make it to a station safely. I barely made it there, pulling in with 1 mile to go and the truck sputtering. Who thinks that's acceptable service? My company paid a lot of money for new tires and a full 40k service. After spending that kind of money, I shouldn't have to worry about running out of gas right after getting my vehicle back. This experience really made me lose a lot of respect for Sheehy.
