Can Do service: You love it when you find it…read more We hobbled into town from Fort Sumner with a bad fuel pump. We were in a pickup with a camper, trailing a car on a dolly: we were not a low-maintenance case. But we got the dolly and car detached, and these guys - whom we'd called 90 minutes earlier to let them know we were coming and to be sure they had the right pump - went right to work and got us out of there in a few hours. They had a hydraulic lift outside that took on the truck and camper like it was no big deal. They found that the pump the last shop installed (before my friend bought the truck recently) was the wrong pump for her vehicle; replaced it; saved almost all the gas that was in the tank; inflated the tires to the correct pressure; and even reattached the dolly for us without our asking. All while being helpful and pleasant. When you're having a bad day or two with unexpected problems, the best you can do is find highly competent people with the right tools and good attitudes. These guys are the best. Give them your business, and you'll be well-served.

As I pulled into town on New Years Eve, I started getting oil warning lights in my vehicle that I had just had service done (including an oil change) a few days prior. I was traveling with my dog and young daughter, and we were due to leave early in the morning on January 1st. When I woke up that morning, I started calling around to see if any auto repair shops might happen to be open on New Years day at 8 am. As you might expect, they were not. When I happened to call Blacklock, I was thrilled when someone answered the phone. Not only where they open, but Joel was super friendly and told me to come on by after I explained the situation. We headed over there and Joel immediately got to work. They ran a diagnostic on the car and found that a bunch of warnings were popping up - all things that I thought had been addressed with my service the prior week back in Austin. He noted that the fee for the diagnostic was going to be $150 before doing it, and I told him to go through with it as I didn't really have much of a choice. Another guy came (owner, perhaps?) and they finished up the diagnostic. The theory was that the place that I had worked with in Texas didn't reset the warnings, but that all was well. Checked the oil to confirm and reset the warnings. I was relieved and grateful for the fact that they were open and welcomed me in on New Years Day, but they weren't done yet. When it came time to head out - they told me not to worry about the diagnostic charge... on the house. I was blown away! Gave a healthy tip as a show of gratitude and then we headed back on our way to Santa Fe. I'm not one to go and write reviews for places, but this one absolutely deserved the 5 star shout out. If they treat others anything like how they treated us - a no brainer recommendation from me. Thanks, gents!

On the spot he took a moment to listen and even come out and do a quick assessment before he set us up for an appt that would've been later in the day. So we filled up, kept our fingers crossed, and he was right! We've since made it all the way back to NJ without a problem. His advice helped so much and so thankful to have someone to trust.
