After I sent in my car to get manual clutch fixed, the car came back with transmission issues. Major problem getting from 1st to 2nd gear and grinding to get into 3rd gear. clutch issue resolved which is why Blacklock gets 2 stars. but got my car back with a new problem with transmission when they said they had said the car was good to go on all gears. read more

Similar story to some of the other reviews, and I was was thrilled with the service I received at Blacklock's! I was recently in Clovis, just for a stop on a road trip further out West. As I pulled into town on New Years Eve, I started getting oil warning lights in my vehicle that I had just had service done (including an oil change) a few days prior. I was traveling with my dog and young daughter, and we were due to leave early in the morning on January 1st. When I woke up that morning, I started calling around to see if any auto repair shops might happen to be open on New Years day at 8 am. As you might expect, they were not. When I happened to call Blacklock, I was thrilled when someone answered the phone. Not only where they open, but Joel was super friendly and told me to come on by after I explained the situation. We headed over there and Joel immediately got to work. They ran a diagnostic on the car and found that a bunch of warnings were popping up - all things that I thought had been addressed with my service the prior week back in Austin. He noted that the fee for the diagnostic was going to be $150 before doing it, and I told him to go through with it as I didn't really have much of a choice. Another guy came (owner, perhaps?) and they finished up the diagnostic. The theory was that the place that I had worked with in Texas didn't reset the warnings, but that all was well. Checked the oil to confirm and reset the warnings. I was relieved and grateful for the fact that they were open and welcomed me in on New Years Day, but they weren't done yet. When it came time to head out - they told me not to worry about the diagnostic charge... on the house. I was blown away! Gave a healthy tip as a show of gratitude and then we headed back on our way to Santa Fe. I'm not one to go and write reviews for places, but this one absolutely deserved the 5 star shout out. Confirmed marginal service from previous review. I had called the shop two days to let them know that I needed to bring my vehicle in, and confirmed 8:00 am opening. I decided to wait until 8:30 am, based on the previous review stating they are always late. 8:30 am, still no mechanic. So I called the Ford dealership and asked if they could take my vehicle even though I didn't buy it there (2001 Lexus RX300.) They said yes, as long as it is not a factory warranty, which it wasn't. Service at Ford is quick and reliable, having my wife use them in the past. I have an extended warrenty through Wells Fargo, and the folks at Ford were very helpful in working with Wells Fargo for me. They even provided a ride home. I recommend Ford. read more

They were so amazing through the process, called me with a price before ordering any parts and even worked on their off time to get my truck back to me! My 2016 Jetta got the key stuck in the ignition which cause secondary problems to my fuel pump. I had it towed to Blacklock's where my car sat for over a month. They replaced my ignition cylinder and it works perfectly. They didn't put the plastic panels around my steering wheel together properly and stained my headliner with their dirty hands. When it came to the fuel pump it took a little longer because they ordered the wrong pump and were not very responsive with me this entire encounter. They got the new fuel pump in and the car ran perfect. I showed up and they had blown up my battery and did not replace it. So I had to spend an extra $200 to get that. It was dripping out battery acid and looked like a balloon. They also crushed the hose for my air intake and I had to spend another $300 to replace those components. The car runs perfectly well and their prices were reasonable. But the work isn't pretty. If time is a factor for you, take your car somewhere else. read more

Service here at Blacklock's Auto Service Repair is marginal due to the mechanics not showing up on time at 8:00 a.m. Monday-Friday and the slow turn around when you are waiting for your vehicle to be worked on. They tend to show 30 minutes after 8:00 a.m. on three visits I have been there and more than one hour late on my fourth visit there. Due to the lack of importance they show on being punctual I do not take my vehicle there anymore. Mr. Blacklock is a professional man who will deal with you very fairly; however, he is not always there to deal with you and the mechanics that he has working for him need to have their behavior corrected. There are many other mechanics in Clovis, NM and my suggestion is find a shop that values hard work and showing up on time because you are paying them. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could I would give them a negative 5 stars, taking my car here was the biggest mistake of my life. I'm a mom of three and an Enmu college student, with one child in college and no vehicle to get myself to school or pick up my oldest from school. Paid them half of the money up front for them to put my car into a worse state than when I took it in. Took my car to them in January for a sensor change and gave them almost three (a day shy of three months )months to fix it and they, somehow, fried the entire cars wiring. They gave me a ton of excuses as to why the cars was not finished, all the while took in other vehicles worked on them with no issues, (I feel) I went two months over my patient level with them and receive my car back in worse shape then when I took it in. When the car was taken in the lights, radio, windows, locks, sunroof all worked and now I have a lawn ornament in my driveway. Save your time and money go somewhere else read more

Blacklock's came very highly recommended, similar to Matthew F's review; that Mr. Blacklock is very fair and that their repairs/maintenance work can be trusted. Unfortunately, our experience was not very good at all. They had our vehicle for 3 full days before it was even looked at. Then, I had to be the one calling them for the next few days for updates; they had extremely poor communication with us. I understand if they are short-handed or simply could not get to my vehicle as originally stated - BUT CALL ME TO TELL ME THAT, don't leave us hanging in the wind, so to speak.
