i used Speedy Locksmith to create a new key dob for my 2022 Mazda CX-5. It worked for about 3 weeks and then I started receiving low battery notifications. I went to Auto Zone to purchase new batterie Ls but couldn't due to the way Speedy super glued the fob together! I contacted them for a replacement key and they never followed up and now I'm having unlock my car and start it with the mobile app. They are con artists who just want a quick buck at their customers expense. I needed new front door hardware installed because the gold/brass finish of the old set was peeling off on the outside of the door. I called Speedy Locksmith for an appointment and someone came that afternoon. When I paid, I noticed the receipt said M&M Emergency Locksmith. When I questioned it, I was told that's their name now. I don't know if they are one in the same, but I would NOT recommend M&M Emergency Locksmith. read more

paid hundreds of dollars after a long day to get into our family car and get a new key, after our key fob stopped working. (yes we changed the battery in it). i made it clear on the phone that i needed a new key, the one that physically fits inside the key fob. they told me it was no problem. came out and gave me a new key fob, but the key inside that i paid hundreds of dollars for was not cut. i called to see if they could come back out and fix it because they misunderstood what i needed. the man on the phone gave me an attitude and started raising his voice at me. i was 8 months pregnant at the time and in 98 degree heat. he showed me no sympathy and instead just kept giving me attitude and putting the problem off on me. do not give your time or money to this company. we ended up using Levi Locksmith Service. BEWARE Speedy Locksmith! These people are nothing more than a franchise who, apparently, take a fee from anyone who wants to be a locksmith. They don't care about their reputation or who they hire because they already have the franchise fee. I wrote an e-mail to Speedy Locksmith to file a formal complaint about one of their " specialists " concerning their complete lack of service and attempt to seriously overcharge, if not extort exorbitant fees from me, for a lock-out service. I unfortunately locked myself out of my house by accident. I contacted Speedy Locksmith, who then contacted one of their " specialists " who then called me from Boston College and said he will arrive in about 35 minutes. When he arrived, with his girlfriend, I showed him my garage door lock and he told me the fee would be $400. When I asked why $400, he said that it was a difficult lock and he was going to have to drill the lock. He claimed the same thing to drill out my back door lock, even though it was a " simpler " lock, according to this so-called " specialist ". The garage door lock is just a standard garage door lock and nothing special. Any locksmith worth his salt could pick that lock in no time. Even if drilling the lock was actually required, it would not take long. I told your " specialist " to forget it and to leave. I told him I will find someone else. This " specialist " then started dropping his price, down to maybe $100 but I was not listening and walked away. I eventually borrowed a drill and drilled the lock myself. Cost to replace the lock was fourteen ( 14 ) dollars. I don't know where Speedy Locksmith procures their " specialists " from but this particular person completely destroyed their reputation as far as I am concerned and I will inform anyone who asks my opinion on a locksmith that they should avoid Speedy Locksmith. I requested a response to my e-mail but, of course, as expected, I received zero response. read more

I got my door locked. When I got the call they said it would be one price. AFTER the service they said it was going to be $50 more! When I called to complain, they said I got overcharged. And a manager would call. I got no call. I called back the next day and they had the guy who did my service call me. He was extremely rude and hung up on me. I called the shop back to tell them and again they said a manager would call. Obviously I didn't get a call back again. I call back a week later and they said a manager would call in a few minutes and AGAIN NO CALL. This "business" is EXTREMELY unprofessional. The guy who came wasn't even in uniform and in a regular dirty car with this entire underwear out his pants. Do NOT recommend for key fobs at all, i don't think they know what they're doing, they programmed my key and it worked for like a a day before it started acting up, alarm buttons don't work, the car doesn't sense the fob in the car to start, it has to go in the key fob slot which it is a super tight fit you have to jam it in for the car to recognize it, called 3 times and left an email requesting for someone to at least fix it, after all the trouble I wanted a refund but I don't even think the operator knew what I was talking about, nice guy who came to do the programming but horrible work. read more

In January 2021, I had a technician from Speedy Locksmith come to my home to change 2 locks, as we had just moved into a new home. I picked this company because they had good reviews. But I was extremely upset because it was so OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive! He was at my house for exactly 30 minutes. He installed 2 deadbolts and he charged us $650. I called their office at least 6 times to complain & finally a gentleman (I believe his name was Olshin) called me back, he told me he would speak to the technician & find out why it was so high, & he would get back to me. He never called me back. I called him back again & again but he wouldn't return my calls. The technician also drilled a hole into the door jamb where the deadbolt would go in to, but he did not put the metal plate over it. I asked him why he didn't put the metal plate on there, & he said, I didn't need it!! I asked a locksmith at Home Depot about the locks he installed at my house, & if I did indeed need the metal plate in the door jamb & the Home Depot guy said, I absolutely needed the metal plate & it's part of the security of the lock. He also said, the locks they installed were $10 locks, Home Depot brand. So, I got two $10 deadbolts, one missing door jamb plate, all in 30 minutes for $650!! I would NEVER use this company ever again, & I would not recommend them! I wish I could have given them ZERO stars, instead of a 1. Sooo mad! read more

Then he 'accidentally' charged us twice and tried to drive away when we approached the car to confront him. After I called the banks and cancelled all my credit cards I started calling lock smiths to get the best price. They all seemed to give me the run around about the price and it just seemed very shady. My stress level was already so high and this just made things so much worse. I called Speed Locksmith and he was straight forward about the price. No games, no gimmicks to get me "in the door" just upfront honest pricing for the work that needed to be done. Once he arrived he was friendly and sympathetic about my troubles. He even accommodated me by doing my house key so I didn't have to go to the hardware store. When the job was done he handed me the new keys on a key ring with a keychain and a key pad for the locks. It sounds so minor, but since my entire set of keys had been stolen it was one less thing I had to worry about. From beginning to end the costumer service was excellent. The phone coordinator was rude, but "Speedy" was local and I was in need of a locksmith quickly. Upon speaking to the tech who would be assigned to my issue, I was quoted a different price from the coordinator. When I called her back to inquire, she was rude once again. They said they'd be on site in 1/2 hour. They didn't arrive until an hour later. The tech said he'd have to drill into the deadbolt; needing to rely on his expertise, I authorized him to move forward. He later called to tell me he was very sorry but was unable to release the lock and couldn't finish the job. The next locksmith I called was very professional, arrived on time, and told me the previous locksmith drilled into the deadbolt and never should've done so. All that was needed was for the locked to be picked rather than drilled. By him doing so, he destroyed the mechanism. This wound up costing me over $300 for a job that could've been less than $150. The locksmith to use would've been "Good Lock" - very professional. Got the job done. read more

Wow, not sure where to start with this review other than AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!! I had a stuck top deadbolt lock. A rep came 45 mins later with a drill in hand - he barely spoke to me and didn't try any other method. To be clear, I had the key for the door and thought he would try graphite spray, disassembling the lock with a screwdriver, etc. With the drill already in the door I thought he said ($195), which seemed high. He drilled the bolt out of the door and left a huge hole. He said to put in new hardware would be an additional $95, I said no - I just wanted him to just put the deadbolt back on so there wasn't a hole in my door -- he ruined it with the drill so he couldn't do that (which was probably his scam all along). He then charged me $355 for the entire process that took one minute. Yes, $355 for taking a drill to my door, removing my deadlock and leaving a HUGE HOLE IN MY DOOR. There was no explanation of the cost - it was completely made up. I immediately called dispatch after he left and explained what happened - their response "oh wow, a hole in the door? $355?" They called me back and said they were sorry and would send someone out to put on a new deadbolt. The woman who came was extremely kind and attentive - she replaced the top deadbolt. Unfortunately it still doesn't work. Besides the second representative, I am appalled at this company. It was clear the first rep who came out was trying to take advantage of my situation (and thought he could because I was a young woman). My husband and I have been trying to reach the manager and have not been able to. I will be reporting this company to the better business bureau and disputing the outrageous charge. read more

They never showed up nor called to say they would be late. 3 1/2 hours later in the day they called me. I hung up on them. Given I'd already secured another company that was actually at the home and fixing my locks. Very unprofessional and sketchy at best. Showed up quickly, but the technician soon found out that the door could not be opened by inflating the door tongue away from the lock, so he said he would have to drill through the existing lock. He said it was $140 to open the door and it would be $240 or $250 to replace it, and provide 2 new keys. I gave him the okay to drill. He opened the door fairly quickly after drilling, but he had a lot of trouble removing the drilled through door knob. He finally got the knob off and put the new door knob in place and gave the two new keys for a total of $245. Looking over the door, I see he damaged the door around the door knob significantly, to where it looks like we will need a new door. I am thinking now that it would have been cheaper to have broken a window to get in, instead. read more

Eh, mixed feelings. They did have a technician come out quickly (within 30 minutes) when I locked myself out, but he was at my house for about an hour, replaced the deadbolt and knob and it was $230. He used these blood pressure cuff things to try and get in to the other doors, but the locks wouldn't budge so he had to drill through a back door. There seemed to be some language barriers between us (he asked me if the doors were dead bolted and I said yes but he heard no) and he was in a bad mood and his pants were seriously sagging (no one needs to see that, dude)! A visiting family member locked me out of my house last weekend. I called this company because I was on a time crunch. Spoke to someone who couldn't give me a cost estimate for my one key lock.. he took my address and said his tech would call me. His "tech" called me and still couldn't give me an estimate, said he'd know when he got there.. I should have called another company right then and there. The young man who showed up, Adrian, parked on the wrong side of our residential street, and while working on the lock asked me if I lived here alone. It's literally laughable. Then he stated it would be 89 plus 30 service fee.... Mind you this is for one simple key hole. He said I had to Venmo to pay him because there's a SIX percent convenience charge on a credit card. He did not appear trustworthy or professional, and I deeply regret not calling the company and complaining as we sat there for an additional 20 minutes because I didn't even have venmo downloaded. It was equally parts frustrating and funny that this all went down like this, but I did in fact get my door unlocked and learned a little lesson about this company - worth sharing with anyone who calls them.
