I've been a Speedway customer since it was known around here as SuperAmerica and if I could check my lifetime Speedy Rewards points, it would probably be in seven digits. I only point that all out so I can say with some authority that after visiting Speedway locations in about 8 states, this is the most incredible station I've visited. It's in a great location (if you happen to live in Plainfield, which I don't) right on the Lincoln Highway (if you happen to know about that.) The station is huge with more pumps than I could count and a full truck stop area for 18 wheelers. The store is enormous with more selection than any Speedway I've visited before. The most unique feature of this particular store is a grill. Yes, a grill. Most Speedway locations have pizza and sandwiches, along with a roller grill and so does this one, but it has a grill! Food is cooked to order, which you place on a kiosk workstation. The computer gives you a confirmation which you take to the register. Once your order is paid for, the confirmation becomes a receipt and you simply wait for your number to be called. Incidentally, this Speedway had the lowest gas price I paid in the full length of Illinois on my trip. Yup, I'm a fan! read more

GAS-LIGHTING When was the last time you were furious at a Speedway? I've had a few days to cool down, though I'm still plenty ticked that this gas station duped me (and countless others) with fraudulent prices.  This Speedway is on S Lincoln Highway in Plainfield, IL but there's no reason you need to care about that. For at least a week, their billboard a few miles south on I-55 showed regular unleaded at $3.59/gal.  In reality, the price at the pump was $4.13/gal, a full 54¢ more than advertised.  How can that be so blatantly wrong??? 1 of 2 things happened: someone was asleep at the switch/sucks at their job/doesn't care (more likely), or they deliberately posted lower prices to lure customers in (less likely, more concerning).  Either way, it's pretty horseshit. The convenience mart was stocked out of cans of Arizona green tea, which I'd never seen before.  The counter was abandoned for a long time, and when a worker finally appeared, the guy was dropping stuff left & right and was clearly stoned out of his mind.  WTF? * TL;DR * This Speedway gas station and IN-convenience mart can suck a big one. I was so pissed about the gas bait-and-switch I emailed Speedway corporate to let them know what's up.  Wouldn't you know it, 2 days later they "fixed the glitch" and prices on the electronic billboard are now synced correctly.  Lotta good that does me now..... I went out of my way coming here in the hopes of saving up to $8 on gas (14 gal x 54¢).  Since that turned out to be a lie, I'm now going out of my way to give them the Yelp equivalent of a middle finger.  Fraud, shitty attitudes, no Arizona tea?  Most obvious 1-star review ever.  凸 (_) 凸 read more

I genuinely wish my 711 deliveries would start coming from this place. First of all my tacos did not come completely covered like they usually are they were just put in a cardboard bowl with Random pink shit all over it. And this is not the first issue I've had with this place. They have screwed my orders completely up. Even sent me things that I am allergic to. I do not recommend coming here or eating anything from there. And into the worker who continuously shows that their work ethic is below zero fuck you. Don't go here on the 1st of any month. The cashier is telling me they changed all the signs for the deals that ended yesterday. Spent $4 more for items that were literally at the cashier saying 3 for $5 but rang up 3 regular price for all 3 then protein bars also not marked correct price. If you know you need to remove all the previous sale tags then remove everything at once then put new sale tags. read more

Came to this Speedway in need for gas and to keep raking in more speedy reward points. Definitely a very clean store inside and out except for its bathrooms. Associates were friendly for the most part. It also features gambling machines and a beer cave of all things. read more

Cheapest gas in Will County, a ton of pumps and more than a dozen Speedy Freeze flavors at all times

If I could give the Speedway in Shorewood, IL (on the corner of Black Road and Route 59) less than 1 star - I would. I was very disappointed in the poor customer service skills shown by their employees (especially an employee named Tiffanie who felt she should raise her voice to talk over me instead of learning to explain her company policies in a professional manner) Maybe Speedway has better gas prices, but I think I will pay a little more to gain better customer service and be treated with more respect. This is a nice gas station and store. The store and bathrooms are clean with the exception of THE ENTRANCE DOOR TO THE MEN'S BATHROOM WHICH IS CONSTANTLY FILTHY, despite the bathroom inside being clean. THAT DOOR IS SO FILTHY that you hesitate to even touching it to push it open! You would think cleaning both sides of the bathroom entrance door, WHERE THE MOST HANDS TOUCH THUS THE MOST GERMS ARE would be cleaned at the same time as the inside of the bathrooms. However, you do see employees cleaning the other parts of the store often. Also, the design of the Soda area is very flawed in that the plastic cups are located in a long row under the soda dispensers. This causes people's sodas to drip on the plastic cups loaded in their dispensers, so when you reach for a brand new cup, it's often sticky on the outside due to people's soda dripping on it. It's a really poorly designed soda area. read more
