Anybody who monitors credit rating will tell you I have exceptional credit rating. I'm 65 and have never been denied a credit card. My purpose for the card was convenience only because I shop frequently at rural king. Not anymore! There is not one reason that rural king can tell me why I was denied. It's the humiliation factor, plus an addition credit app on my credit report that disgust me. I'm here to warn all consumers, don't waste your time applying for rural king credit card. It will only frustrate you and hurt your credit. I now shop with customer friendly Lowe's, TSC, Home Depot, Amazon and all farm parts online tractor stores. Rural King carries the cheapest grade tractors and equipment. The one and only positive thing I can say about rural king is that they have a limited gun section. Rural King does not offer veteran discounts either. Are you seeing the big picture yet? Harbor Frieght just opened next door which is probably gonna run rural king outta business anyway. Those who shop frequently can also contest that rural king is not organized when running outta stock on commonly purchased items. I came from over an hour away to buy a car. After paying for the car I had a roll of quarters to put gas in to get home. She told me she wouldn't take them because I was not from Niles. She said she couldn't be sure I had all $10 inside so I offered to count them out she said no. I asked why she said they wouldn't be rolled simple enough I can put them back in the roll, again no. She started talking loud and rudely to me in front of several others saying it wasn't her problem I didn't have gas to get home and telling me I should bring money for gas. When I asked the manager (Mindy) about wanting 2 packs of cigarettes the manager very rudely said she didn't hear me. So she asked if I wanted and pack I said yes but I asked if she only rings up 1 pack will I get the discount she said probably not so I asked if she could take back the one pack and ring me up for 2 packs so I can get the discount and she replied back to me that I was done and I needed to leave the store! I was in no way shape or form was I rude to this manager. I didn't want my day ruined by this manger that should not be a manager, I told her she was ridiculous and I left. I posted my issue on face book and many other people commented that they were treated the same. I will not use your store again till Mindy is removed. The backwoods fabric signs they have hanging behind the employee area where the cash register is were unique and I almost asked if they are decor for the store or for sale. Lots of tobacco products and things you might need to go with it (tray, papers if you roll your own cigarettes, and lighters). Didn't see a bathroom but I didn't need to go when I was there so I didn't think about it in the moment. Employee was friendly and quick to ask if we wanted to look at anything in the glass cases. They also sell incenses and incense holders. The outside awning being worn down can be deceiving but this place is decent for what it is.
