I pulled in and there was no wait - I explained to the cashier that I was a sweet caramel breve type and she told me to absolutely get the Blondie. I am so happy I took her advice because this drink was so good. I can only imagine the amount of sugar in it because it was extremely sweet but in the best way. The service was quick, establishment was clean and I loved that I can drive-thru and go. I definitely will be back..... today actually.

I settled for the German Chocolate, blended, with cold foam and choco drizzle on top (which was added a la cart). The additional dressing drove the drink up to a little over $8. Also, there is an undesirable wait between ordering and receiving your drink. Once I received the drink I was disappointed because it had a very subtle register of coconut and absolutely no flavor that resembled the cake. It was more like a mocha. One other note was the cold foam was extremely thin. In my mind if it's not better that StarBs then why am I here.

Really enjoyed my visit and stayed a bit to work in the cafe on my laptop.

Still, I'd come back and try more things. I also tried the chocolate banana thing (muffin? Donut? Cupcake.) and found it pretty disappointing. The cake part itself is good, very moist. Too moist to be a donut or a muffin, so it must be a cupcake, which is weird considering the shape. The icing was awful. It's so overpoweringly sweet it doesn't taste like chocolate or banana, just sugar. If you don't scrape it off, it makes the whole thing way too sweet.

Inside was a great chill vibe with relaxing music playing in the background and it's a fantastic place to get coffee, hang out or do some work. There are several coffee spots in the Riverside/Avondale area and Bold Bean is one of the best. If you're a coffee fan, Bold Bean is a must if you're in the Riverside area.
