I love this shopping center Speedway is in--such a great feel to it! It has a Starcrooks that is pleasant to sit outside and an International Market that has all kinds of fun foods. I stopped in here on my bike ride to use the RR and up my fluids on an Hot day after 20 miles. Picked up some fresh squeezed Simply Orange Juice. SO glad they had that because it totally rehabilitated me for another 20 miles. Now it's not cheap to shop here but when in an emergency glad they are open. Personally, I would not use Speedway fuels in my personal car--maybe a rental. But if you are okay with it--this is a fine place to stop. read more

My neighborhood gas station for a few years as it's near freeway access. Went this morning to fill up and couldn't get unleaded gas after trying several pumps. Painful when you're on your way to work and need to fill up! Went somewhere else nearby. The guy filling up next to me said Speedway LOCKS the unleaded pumps to get you to buy the higher price premium gas...it's a well known scam with them. My debit card was locked for multiple attempts at charges. Speedway also charged me $1.00 for each time I attempted to use a different pump with my card! Won't go back again. read more

It's now a very expensive Shell gas station that has no receipts and no customer service! Don't go to this location. We went inside to get a receipt because the pumps didn't have any paper for a receipt and the guy acted like he didn't even know what we were talking about and he tried to charge us again when we told him what pump we wanted the receipt with can you imagine he tried to charge me twice $95! This gas station and the Valero across the street are always in gas price wars, which is good. Sadly, Speedway requires cash or a debit card fee so depending on how much gas you need, it might be a bit cheaper to go to Valero if using a credit card. The other issue with the gas station is it has an identity crisis. It can't decide who it wants to be when the grows up. It was ACRO not long ago, but even before that, it was something else, and prior to that is was ACRO again. I've lived nearby for 13 years and it's almost a game of "guess today's brand!" That's not always a bad thing. I don't see signs that say "under new management" so I assume it's the same owners? Otherwise, the place is fairly clean, the people inside are hit and miss on their friendliness, and the little convenience store is pretty much on par with other small one-room quickie marts. Getting in and out can be tricky as it's easy to drive off the curb when pulling onto Tustin Ave. They do have a good-sized speed bump to help you remember when it's dark, but then you have to back up and watch for other cars that may have pulled up to the pump you were just at. Otherwise, it's cheap gas for the area, so it is what it is. read more

When this gas station first opened in Irvine they had excellent customer service. There was a female attendant working in the building. Very pleasant. I don't think she is there anymore. I was there recently and there were a man and woman (not sure if a couple or just cash managers) closing out the cash drawer. I asked the attendant for some gloves for pumping gas. There were some thin, cheap gloves in the cooked food area. The woman glared and said I could not take any. I was disgusted. (It wasn't the attendant's fault.) For the cost of gas it seems like those cheap gloves shouldn't be a big deal. In fact there are many other gas stations that give those to customers. I won't go to Speedway anymore and will only patronize other gas stations that have gloves available. It seems like such an inexpensive, simple customer service. read more

NICKEL-and-diming while overpriced. Goodbye and good riddance. Terrible "new" gas station, Speedway. Wish we had the Mobil station back, which we filled up at all the time (before Irvine Co. decided to go with Speedway instead). After the recent grand opening, they only had Premium/91 octane gas available at their bloated pricing. Guess my car that uses 87 octane isn't good enough (no 89 octane available either). Wasted first trip. More importantly, the customer service experience was garbage. Speedway sent out two rounds of promotional mailers to nearby residents, offering free drinks/snacks/etc. We went back a second time, purchased a full tank of regular gas once available, and used the promo coupons for a hot dog and slushie. Younger female cashier was less than friendly, but got the job done. Then, we go to the gas station again for a third time, and tried to redeem a 69-cent fountain drink promo coupon. The older balding male manager stepped in (brushing aside the cashier, from last time), and demanded 5--cents before even punching the drink into the register or scanning the coupon. When asked what for, he rudely and shortly replied, "for sales tax." Ultimately, as I didn't have cash with me, he let me go, like he was doing me a huge favor. I guess I should have just left the soda at the counter. Called the Speedway's number, and heard the same voice answer with no greeting, maybe a "hello." No introduction or hint that I had called a legitimate business. I asked if this was the Speedway at Parkview Center, and that's when I found out it was the manager who gave me the terrible experience. I shared my feedback about the experience and he continued to cut me off and continuously repeat that I was wrong in that everyone must pay sales tax. That was not stated on the coupon's fine print. See the photo as a sample. It simply offered a free fountain drink. I did not purchase anything, so why would I pay sales tax? I gave him examples of how other companies did giveaway/free items, and he just kept railroading me. I explained that he was ruining the entire purpose of the promotion by literally NICKEL-and-diming me to the point that he lost all of me, my family, and my neighbors' business. Horrible service! The manager never acknowledge any customers and yells out customer! The lady that helped me was so so so RUDE! She slammed the items I was buying, then gave me an attitude because I wanted to check on my lottery-their machine has been broken for over a month! My items I was buying was 17.88, I got 16.00 from lotto and was checking to see if I had 1.88 to give her, but I didn't, so I paid by card...oh what an attitude she gave me! I have been coming to this gas station since it opened. I have seen this lady multiple times, the ONLY way she will treat you with GOOD CUTOMER SERVICE is if you are a MALE CUSTOMER that she can FLIRT WITH! I will drive the extra miles to another gas station...NO NEED TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE! I don't expect much, but DAMN! I am so sorry the lady had to to her job! and I am not a MAN that you can flirt with you! Never again! SPEEDWAY UNIVERSITY YOU SUCK! Stop and put gas in my car on 3/29/23 sign at pump said they only had premium gas, so I put $26.00. The fuel truck pulled as i was pumping gas. Got 10 miles down the road, and my check engine light started flashing. Now I am 7 hours from home with my dog and my car is not running right. Never again, Speedway never again. read more

RIP offs make sure you are paying the right price at the pump. Cash is supposed to be lower. It always read higher.

Poor experience at pump, used tap pay, entered my PIN, but asked for a "rewards ID" afterwards. No option to not input one. Click red "Cancel" button asked for "Alternative ID". Click red "cancel" button again, "Please see cashier" he doesn't know what I'm talking about. I pay at the register, $40 ($4.29/gal) and my tank only fills 1/2 way (from 0 gal, 13 gal capacity tank) and the cherry on top, the ad playing on the screen was at MAX volume, and no way to mute.
