I had been wanting to come here so many times since I first noticed this Mobil station across the traffic light on Main Street across from the exit from the Thruway at New Paltz. Though I knew I had my Plenti card at home (for the Plenti program ending soon), when I saw the gas pumps say that I must insert my Plenti card, I knew I had to do something. At other locations I would have been able to get around and access my Plenty Loyalty card right from the pump, but this trip was so different. It had no extra button to get to access it, so I felt stuck. I knew I could go in and prepay, but it seemed like as soon as I got in there, the clerk behind the counter got snippy and after every word I tried to say (and answering his question), he'd repeat the question or go onto a new question. I knew all Mobil's had a way to access an alternate ID for my account, but this person really had the audacity to keep asking me questions after they just asked that same question. I was only picking up $10 in gas using my chip-styled debit card (because Mobil isn't accepting my GasBuddy card which would help them bring in more money), but it seemed like this place really didn't want my money. I was doing it(I had forgotten to pick it up at the Plattekill service station), regardless of gas price being higher than the normal average in the Hudson Valley (average gas price about 3.00 whereas here it was 3.19/gal. I was bound to do this sometime, so why not get it today when it first came to mind and had realized I had needed to pull-in and check out the dozens of text messages from my brothers who were group-chatting and were driving me bonkers as I went up the Thruway heading towards home. I filled up my mother's gas tank (though it barely touched it at 1/4 tank from nearly empty) and proceeded to exit. And although I had no real concern over seeing what was heading westbound, when I tried to travel east on Main St/Rte 299, I overshot my lane and ended up having to wait for the g.('Oh Holy One')d. traffic light holding me up for more than a couple minutes (back end in the Thruway on-ramp lane). Otherwise, the trip at the gas pumps was ample, but watch your money, as you spend way too much here.

Although a couple months ago when it was snowing I needed a quick touch up with a little wash from the washer fluid bucket which helped clear up some problems, when I came in here today for gas, I found this place to be an excellent choice. In the last few weeks, I hadn't seen gas as cheap as how I found it here today at less than 3.00/gal; A gas savings already! Then factor in my GasBuddy 5 cent/gal discount when all is said and done, and really made out like a bandit. I liked how clean, clear and crisp the display was, but why was the display so black? It's daylight, and black really hurts the eyes and makes it hard to see when the sun is setting (or at least in my viewpoint it does). And also, why didn't the display that tackled my pay-at-the-pump transaction not securely clear Pin-like entries which my GasBuddy card had when I entered my driver-ID? I thought that was rather rude, but I knew there wasn't too many others around who were looking, so I won't mind. Still not coming in though. I've had no use to come in just yet. But maybe in time, I'll think about stopping inside for something. Just nothing yet: many other choices require my needs first, sorry it isn't happening as fast. I'll be back around sometime.

Having come back from a mechanic around the corner yesterday, I stopped in as my first official…read moretime. However, I had been here before, but never for gas. Although I watch this station closely every time I go past and this station is higher-priced than most others, I knew I had to try it to get a close feel. But it bugs me to tell you that I had to stop in my tracks to figure out which pump is for which type of gas. None of the three nozzles (on any of the hook-ups) are labeled. I almost took the wrong one for that time). I was using a pay-at-the-pump transaction, but after running through the Alt-ID for my Speedy Rewards and my GasBuddy card, I was astounded that nothing is labeled on the pumps. And besides that, once I did eenie-meenie this (hoping that the one that was separated was the 87-unleaded, which it was), I couldn't figure out how you select the pump. It surely wasn't labeled that you pull the lever out (unlike most others) to select this grade. Maybe it's not time for this station to switch to adding Apple Pay/mobile pay functionality at the pumps. Perhaps it's time to find a cheaper solution to labeling things. Even if you just take a piece of tape and stick some labels on, it would make it more clear for customers to know which grade is for which nozzle, because I was baffled yesterday (and I don't generally get baffled often at gas stations). In the past, I've been inside to get general merchandise at the convenience store, but that's a different scoop (since the last time I was inside here was in 2017).
