The outside and inside is very nice here, definitely a country general store and great selection of items. Your average general store in town. The young guy behind the counter was very nice and was though taking down my order. The woman that worked behind the counter I will say was not welcoming or friendly and just seemed busy to herself. Well at least one of the two people was awesome. The sandwich was very good, plenty of boars head buffalo chicken and Turkey slices, plus nice crispy bacon and just the amount of ranch sauce. Honestly the place was nostalgia trip for considering the general store near me of near 100 years closed in 2020. That aside another choice in the area for a deli if the local gas station next to it is too busy. read more

This is a great little deli. They serve Boar's Head cold cuts and have many sandwich choices available. Staff is friendly.

1st Star because they are open. 2nd Star because they have convenient items. I've only forced myself to go in there 4 times in 3 years. Mostly because the lack of friendliness. One young man was very friendly and not yet jaded- I appreciated his help. On separate occasions, the ladies behind the counter were very unwelcoming to my sandwich inquiries. Lots of local flavor, the folks that work at the counter quickly learn your name your favorite order and routinely have it made as quickly as you walk through the door. I gave this place a half dozen tries before deciding that they really are only there to serve the 20 or so regulars who stand out on the porch and curse loudly and frequently as if they were in a bar. I'm no pansy, but having to pass through the porch gamut of cursing regulars when I just want a sandwich and cup of coffee is offputting. I asked the guys - very politely - if they might keep it down when women and children are entering the store and was told that the owner, Pete Patel, was even worse than them and I should take it up with him. The girl behind the counter will greet you with flatness and promptly put a regular's order ahead of you (when they are behind you). This happened on every visit. Every.single.one. I didn't know to order at the back of the deli counter (there is no sign and patrons can't see behind the high deli counter to know she is there.) After patiently waiting in line, I gave her my order and she told me I was on the wrong line. When I asked her if she transmitted my order to the deli woman (10 feet away from her) she flatly answered "No I did not" and glared at me. This was the final straw. This place only welcomes and serves regulars, others are treated unequally at best and with open hostility at worst. If you desire a welcoming and warm destination avoid this like the plague and continue a mile along 44 into Gardiner, there is a nice deli there with better atmosphere and good people. Sit down, go to Cafe Mio for a real taste of the Hudson Valley in both food and a warm welcome. Or continue into New Paltz, a few mules down the road - there's a LOT to choose from. read more

This is my coffee spot. Local place through and through, right down to the old guys sitting on the front porch. Great Sandwich's (specify boars head though) and general convenience. Breakfast through lunch a great place to go. No all sandwiches are created equal though, it helps when you know who is making yours, it determines a lot. read more

Today I stopped into this general store for a soda and decided to buy a sandwich. I got the Italian Combo that is posted by a colorful sign on the deli wall. The sandwich was perfect! I really mean perfect. The sub roll was both hard and soft with the perfect assortment of meats and thick slices of provolone cheese. I plan on returning to this store just for this specific sandwich. Nice job local gem! read more

Walk into the back where the eggs are being made and place your order to the friendly woman flipping eggs and crisping up bacon. There are chairs located right where the sandwiches are being made so you can have a seat and have your sandwich fresh off the griddle. Very tasty BEC and they have a decent selection of drinks to choose from. 2 BECs, a monster energy drink, chocolate milk and a small V8 came to $10 bucks. Out door seating on the patio if you want to eat and enjoy the weather too. There were plenty of people ordering deli sandwiches as well. read more

Is it possible to give zero stars? Red headed girl at the counter is ferocious and scary any time after 1 pm. Ordered a CHEESE and vegetable sandwich, received a sandwich comprised of cheese with meat on it (they only have one slicer!) and mayo. She threw a shit fit about banana peppers but never actually put said banana peppers on my sandwich. called to complain and got yelled at all over again. Drive to any other deli. Get a sandwich at mobil if you are starving. Don't go here. Just not worth it read more
