My friend's roast beef sandwich looked delicious and I love that it was on a nice ciabatta type roll. Much better than a regular Kaiser roll. She said it was delicious but the price was kinda steep at $13.99. I didn't care for the caprese sandwich. It was kinda bland even though it had plenty of pesto @ $10.99. The bill came in at over $31 for two sandwiches and two seltzers. Kinda expensive I thought especially since I didn't eat all my sandwich. I would probably not come here again because of the expense. There seems to be freshly baked items there. They looked good but we didn't try it. The general store is really nice though especially if you are camping nearby. They also had an area where you can pick up a nice gift in a hurry! About the service, it was slow when you consider that we were the only ones there. They have nice picnic tables outside where you can eat. I took a star off for my lackluster sandwich and the prices.

When we called, they said they didn't have the items on my list and would substitute and wanted to confirm, but the owner seemed to get rude, they got rather choppy upon answering the phone and then oversweetened in their responses. Furthermore, they made our sandwiches too early and even though they said they'd put them under temp control, I don't think the temperature was right either, because oddly they said they'd stick them under a heat lamp... for cream cheese sandwiches, "really?"! When the food arrived, I found that they didn't use enough cream cheese and someone else said they overused their cream cheese. I also found my blueberry bagel to not be as written. While the bagel wasn't as written, and it was a cinnamon raisin with blue speckles within the bagel (not too sure of mold, but It didn't look like it), I wasn't too sure and ate it anyway being forced to by the orderer. I have trouble finding words to describe the ambiance, because this was a DoorDash order and I couldn't go inside when ordering from home....hopefully, my Dasher found this place the same way as I experienced it...or they were missing lots of hilarity.

A true local country store with a ton of zany and mouthwatering sandwiches invented by the husband…read moreand wife owners of 30 years! On a way back from a Catskills cabin retreat, we wanted to find a country store, to perhaps find some local goods like local honey, jams, etc. Unfortunately, this place wasn't that because it was more of a deli/general store type on a main road, but they made up for it with delicious sandwich offerings featuring Boar's Head products! We had to wait for the dynamic husband and wife duo to help loyal customers who were coming back for "the usual" or trying something different "this week" and knew immediately how integral they were to this community! Later when trying to decide, the owner told us how he grew up there, wanted to be out of this woods so badly as a young man but never got to leave, and ended up sticking around - running this store for 30 yrs and how happy he was with family and a nice property with fields and stuff! We really bonded in that short while! My wife got the Honey Mama? which had turkey and ham with honey mustard and cheese. It was really loaded, maybe too loaded with ham that I felt the flavor was a bit skewed towards being too heavy. They were too generous! I had to have the pastrami on rye with swiss and horseradish sauce and the man asked, "you want bacon?" to which I obviously couldn't refuse! It took a bit long and the lady told me that she threw away the first toasted rye cuz she wasn't happy with how it was over toasted... much appreciated because when I bit into that gorgeous thing, I was in heaven. Pastrami wasn't too salty and had a great taste, buffered by refreshing horseradish sauce, accented by occasional bits of really crispy bacon. My wife stole a few bites of mine. Overall, other than sandwiches, the store offers usual fare of drinks, they have some beers, some baked goods and other usual packaged essentials but sandwich is their main game! You can see so many random sandwich concoctions scribbled on laminated sheets and posted everywhere near the sandwich counter! If you're passing by and want a great meal on the go, give this wonderful folks your time & business. You won't be sorry! Thanks again.
