First, when I…read moregot a message back and responded, the owner said they didn't get my response and we had to call them instead. When we called, they said they didn't have the items on my list and would substitute and wanted to confirm, but the owner seemed to get rude, they got rather choppy upon answering the phone and then oversweetened in their responses. Furthermore, they made our sandwiches too early and even though they said they'd put them under temp control, I don't think the temperature was right either, because oddly they said they'd stick them under a heat lamp... for cream cheese sandwiches, "really?"! When the food arrived, I found that they didn't use enough cream cheese and someone else said they overused their cream cheese. I also found my blueberry bagel to not be as written. While the bagel wasn't as written, and it was a cinnamon raisin with blue speckles within the bagel (not too sure of mold, but It didn't look like it), I wasn't too sure and ate it anyway being forced to by the orderer. I have trouble finding words to describe the ambiance, because this was a DoorDash order and I couldn't go inside when ordering from home....hopefully, my Dasher found this place the same way as I experienced it...or they were missing lots of hilarity.

It's a cute place and I love the wallpaper. I ordered food and the lady that took my order was having trouble focusing/ listening and added things to my bill. When I corrected her; she seemed to be paying attention, I thought she removed the item but she didn't. I order a drink (coffee) also and then changed my mind. When I told her I didn't want it she said she couldn't resell the paper cup to someone else. I know.... I know.. you must be thinking (WHAT it's just coffee!) I explained I didn't see the other sign with special drinks. So even though I wanted another drink that was more money, she kept it on my bill and gave it to me. That was when I decided not to go back ever again. Poor service, then I had added that specialty drink along with the coffee I got stuck with. Only to not ever receive it. I had to bother another girl to get my drink. She did tell me to wait she had to get this family's order first. That was rude. I waitressed before, so I can say that. Meanwhile I had finished my food (which was good) and coffee that I didn't want. I was there at least 30 mins and 15mins before the other family. They weren't busy. There was no excuse for poor service.

Misto Eats--Cafe, Market, and Catering is located on S. Broadway, one of the two main streets (the other being Market) which cross to make up the center of Red Hook, NY.  There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant if you don't want to park on the street. You review the posted menu (also available online) and the board listing the day's specials, order, pay, grab a table on either side of the restaurant, and wait for your food to arrive. If you are looking for creative eats, Misto Eats is the place to find them. They also carry lots of pre-made meals (including soups and stews) and various meat and salad preparations along with some grocery items, freshly baked cookies and breads.  The venue itself is airy, bright and warm.  A beautiful place to sit, relax, talk and enjoy some freshly prepared food. Our food came out after a brief wait as everything is made to order.   My wife ordered from the day's specials--Grilled vegetables sandwich on home-made Naan featuring zucchini, cauliflower, oyster mushrooms, goat cheese, and Baba Ghanoush-Hummus.  The sandwich comes with the daily side which today was a delicious home-made potato salad with red onions, chopped fresh Italian parsley, very lightly dressed.  I ordered from the regular menu--"The Little Pickles Sandwich"--and there was nothing "little" or diminutive about it.  The sandwich  included crispy cod fritters on house-made Pão Frances with pickled serrano chili, pickled red onions, baby arugula, and MISTO aioli.  An amazing combination of flavors and while I've eaten many a cod fritter, cake or ball over the years (think pastéis de bacalhau in a Brazilian or Portuguese restaurant), these were among the tastiest I have ever enjoyed.  That they make their own Pão Frances (which were available for purchase in the bakery case as well) helped elevate the palate experience of this dish.  My sandwich also came with a scoop of that lovely potato salad. We really enjoyed our sandwiches, beverages, and the relaxing atmosphere at Misto Eats.  If there weren't so many other wonderful places to explore in the Hudson Valley for lunch and dinner, I would go back to Misto Eats tomorrow to try something else from their creative menu. They are open 11:30 am - 6 pm most days, closed on Mondays.  We will definitely be back in a few weeks for further exploration of the menu
