After my initial review a few years ago, I am forced to write this very sad review. This review is really based on my experiences with the service department. Every time, taking my bike back for service after buying it at Speedway, has left me with such a bad taste in my mouth. It is always an argument and they just want to charge for everything. Nickel and dime me to death..... In fact, the last time I took it in, which was last year, the service manager argued with me over the extended warranty and what was and what wasn't covered. Since all the work done to my bike was by Speedway, when I bought it, according to the extended warranty, it should be covered. All the HD upgraded LED lighting had continued electrical issues, they installed genuine HD, so it should be covered. Well, I got sick of arguing and told the sales guy, I would never be back. In fact, I bought another bike from another HD dealer. Last night I took the bike back to Speedway for a oil leak. 9k miles. They told me that since I had put on an aftermarket exhaust, the fix is not covered by warranty. Again, the aftermarket exhaust was put on by an HD shop. They got my $185 for service. And in doing that, I will never go back to this dealership for any reason. This dealership is the classic "STEALERSHIP". So, looking back over the years, it should have been glaringly clear to me. Every time I go in there, there is a new service manager, parts manager and/or sales person. Several people have commented that since the shop went from Pat Rogers HD to Speedway HD, things were changed for the good. I totally disagree. Good luck trying to get to parts or clothing, because the sales person is thumping you, trying to up sell a new bike. If I go in for a shirt, I do not like being followed back and pestered about a new ride. Bought a Screaming Eagle Touring and traded my Softail (paid in full) as a down-payment. Payments were too high for me at the time but the finance manager at that time lied to me in order to get the sale. He said that if I made my payments on time for 12 months they would refinance the loan and lower my payments. I made my payments as agreed and went back in to get the loan refinanced and when I went back to Speedway they said they couldn't do anything about it now that the finance manager is no longer working there. They made out like a bandit because the CVO was overpriced and they got my Softail that I am sure they sold for great price. Plus I gave them two tires( out the box) and other accessories for the bike. And now I am stuck with an overpriced bike with high payments and they cant lower the payments. LIARS, LIARS!! So i go to the dealership yesterday, another 6 months of on-time payments and they said they still couldn't refinance but tried to sell me another bike and give me the bare minimum for the bike I have made almost $10,000 payments on and put me in another loan for $4 less payment if I put $3,000 down. What!! I am totally unhappy and keep dealing with finance managers who claim they don't have the authority to do anything. I need to sit down with someone who can correct the lie and make a customer happy, not double talk. read more

I hate having to write a bad review. Honestly, this place is terrible. I purchased a bike here and transferred my tag but then a month or so later got a call that they had a new tag for me. Not sure why, and nobody there knows why. I waited for months to hear from someone in order to figure out an answer while they held my tag and tax bill so I couldn't ride with the right tag or pay the taxes. Then after trying to call multiple times, leaving messages, and speaking to multiple people I still got no response except suggesting I shouldn't ride the bike until it's figured out (meanwhile I'm paying for the bike). Without any explanation I received the tag in the mail and my tax bill which is now almost 4 months past due, the owner called me back and had her salesperson Corey offer to pay half the bill. He said he would call me back or mail it... well it's been two weeks and haven't heard or seen anything. Not to mention the service department that never has parts in, takes months to get anything, and is extremely difficult to work with. Avoid this place if you want a good experience. read more

Let me start by saying that they are open on Sundays. Oh!...and Mondays, and Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, etc... I have yet to have a negative experience at Pat Rogers. Yeah, sometimes parts take a little longer than I'd expect...but then sometimes they don't. Either way they've kept me updated. The sales team is always ready and eager to help but pressure is something I've never felt. Test ride? I went in the other day for winter gloves and wound up spending a half hour on a v rod. (more fun than I had hoped, by the way!) It took a minute to copy my license and off I went...(with the understanding that I wasn't "walking" out with a new ride). Sadly, I never did find the right gloves...and I couldn't justify the v rod. :( They follow up with customer satisfaction even if all you buy is a duffel bag. Pricy? (don't wear harley threads! But for everything else...) Maybe, but go at the right time and they will make you a deal - just like every other sales business. Expensive financing? Do your homework first is all I can say. If your credit is good you probably won't get a better rate than they can offer. If what they offer doesn't suit you, walk away and/or get your financing elsewhere (and they will most likely follow you...again, with a better deal). They've earned my business. read more

After 10 years of avoiding Speedway Harley because of a terrible experience, I just had the best experience ever. I took my 1994 FLSTN that has been a restoration project for the past year, I met with Mike in service and explained what I needed and how I wanted him to communicate with me as he went through the engine. Mike called me every step of the way and was prepared with estimates when he called. He also made suggestions on some upgrades that made sense , and I didn't feel as if I was the "up sale". After the bile was finished, I was invited back in the shop to meet the tech who had preformed the wok. After I paid Mike had one of his guys deliver the bike to me. I felt welcome and at home Everyone at that place went above and beyond to make sure the wife's new scoot was transferred in and all the goodies installed and had her up and running in no time. Use CAUTION: I purchased a 2015 Streetglide from them with a trade-in back on July 26th. Asked to have my tags transferred from the dyna I traded in to the streetglide & they messed that up because they never got or asked for tag info. So while they were at the DMV they saw the missing info crossed out the transfer & requested a new tag all without my knowledge or consent. Then I get a tax bill from the DMV. I startedtrying to get them to fix it and still had to make multiple calls to different places to tell them how to do their jobs. Worst part is I had multiple conversations with the general manager/ owner with the end result she was not going to do anything to fix the problem with her, the sales manager, & fiance manager admitting they made a mistake read more

So a BMW owner of 20+ years. Have been thinking of getting a second bike and called ahead to book an appt to ride a specific model. When I arrived I was informed that their policy was to negotiate all the financials, including credit check (yes thats an inquiry on my credit regardless of the fact I would pay cash) before they would even let me ride a model I have never ridden before (wanted to see how that batwing fairing felt vs. the fixed fairing on my K12GT). I can pull in to a Mercedes dealership and not have to negotiate for a car before I decide on which one I want, so having a hard time understanding what this policy is aimed at achieving. Perhaps they had issues in the past, but making every potential customer pay for those issues hardly seems like a policy to build a strong relationship with a customer. Ended up walking out, wasted an hour (plus the time to write this), but hey, you know the saying... make a customer happy they tell two people, annoy a customer and they tell 10. So I hope at least 10 people read this. With a few dealerships nearby, I have options and wont be bringing my business to Pat Rogers, which includes any service for the years to come. read more

I was looking to purchase a bike that day, and had already been to Greensboro and Smokin'. Unimpressive experiences so I decided to head over to Speedway. First, the inventory on its website was inaccurate because it stated it had three '15 Slims. Seemed like I had a good chance of at least there being one still in stock. Well, there weren't any, but that was fine. They then tried to sell me a '16 Slim with ABS and security because it was the only Slim they had. The initial offer was decent, but I wasn't in the market for the upgrades (although I'm sure they're lovely to have). We tried to negotiate, but they weren't budging much on the number. Overall, I had a decent experience, particularly compared to Greensboro and Smokin'. I was treated pretty well, which is more than I can say for the others. However, immediately after leaving Speedway, I bought a '16 Slim from another dealership with great customer service AND a price I couldn't refuse. read more

11-11-09 I wrote this concerning my purchase of a Road Glide Custom from Pat Rodgers Speedway Harley-Davidson located in Concord, NC. I am also completely dissatisfied with the Pat Rogers Speedway Harley-Davidson dealership. Thanks to Andy Phelps and his boss for making me feel like I made a big mistake by buying my motorcycle from this dealership, also thanks to Carrie and their former finance person Dave. Carrie gave the MSRP of the motorcycle and the additional costs that would be added to the MSRP to Dave. The total (I realized much too late after I signed the contract) did not add up correctly, well over $1,000.00 to much. Carrie also charged me for NC sales tax when she should have charged me for SC sales tax. Dave said that he saw the error with the sales tax but charged me for NC sales tax anyway. Also I was over charged for my SC property tax on this motorcycle because of some manipulation of the selling price on the sales contract, which made the selling price much higher than the amount financed. Yes I did sign the sales contract, but when I had a chance to sit down and study the sales contract and add up the figures I felt that the figures were wrong. I was over charged and payed to much for my motorcycle because I trusted them/dealership to add the prices/numbers correctly. When I called them about my concerns with the sales contract on 11-07-09, I spoke with Andy Phelps, he was inconvenienced with my concerns. He told me that I would need to come there to the dealership. So I drove (that same evening) quite some miles to the dealership and spoke with Andy Phelps boss (I do not know his bosses name). I simply said that I know that I signed the sales contract, but I asked him if he could give me some explanation about my concerns for the over charges/discrepancies. He could not help me, so he asked Andy Phelps to come into the office. Andy Phelps only made the problem worse by insulting my intelligence and becoming verbally aggressive towards me. Andy Phelps does not care about my concerns or how he made me feel, he was arrogant and insulting towards me. Andys boss said that he would get back with me Monday 11-09-09 with some explanations for the questions that I had about the sales contract, he did not. I have made a large purchase for a motorcycle from the Pat Rogers Speedway Harley-Davidson dealership and felt that I should have been treated with more respect. Ron Conley read more

Do yourself a huge favor, save yourself a lot of heartache and misery by staying away from this Dealership!! I live in Indiana. I ordered two heated jackets and a pair of heated pant liners after agreeing to prices and shipping. Amanda, who works at the dealership, is the gal I was dealing with through email. She was nice at FIRST but then I found out why she was nice, what her TRUE motive was. Can you say MONEY!? More on that later. Amanda told me one of the jackets and the pants would have to be ordered. No problem. I told her the pants were for my friend Amy and that the two jackets were for friends of mine that I travel with. Amy decided to go to Charlotte to see her kids and agreed to pick the stuff up to save the shipping costs. Amanda agreed this was ok with her. Because I wanted to surprise Amy, I didn't tell her what she was picking up. The pants were for her so once she got to the dealership, she obviously then, would at least find out that the pants were for her. No problem on that. But, I had told Amanda that I wanted the guys jackets boxed up and taped (to quell Amy's curiosity to not look) so that when I gave them to my friends, they would be surprised. Amy would be there with myself and the guys I was giving the jackets to so she would be surprised as well. Amanda had 5 days, 5 days to get the jackets boxed up before Amy got there and you guessed it, when Amy went in to pick the stuff up and to try on the pants, Amanda brings EVERYTHING out including the unboxed jackets! Then Amanda has the gall to blame it on me by saying, "you said Amy wasn't coming in until next week to pick the stuff up" which was totally untrue and besides, isn't 5 friggin days long enough to box up some jackets? Not only that, how bout this, wouldn't you think that as soon as Amy went into the store, asks for Amanda, tells Amanda who she is, what she's there for that a light bulb would have gone on in Amanda's head that said, "dang, I forgot to box up the jackets"? Gee, you'd think so. She could have brought out just the pants seems Amy had to try them on anyways and that would have given Amanda plenty of time to go in the back room and box up the jackets. She just forgot which wouldn't have been as big of a deal as it turned out to be but then Amanda has the gall to blame ME for her mistake!! That wasn't the biggest thing though. Amy tries on the pants and they are huge! I ordered the smallest pair Harley makes, gave Amanda Amy's sizes, her height, weight, hip and waist sizes along with the size she wears in clothes and we BOTH agreed the x-small would probably work. When they were huge, Amy called me and I asked for a credit on my credit card. No can do was the response. "Online and store policy" I was told. I admit I didn't read that and that's my fault. However, Amanda in an email specifically told me that they have dressing rooms and that if they didn't fit, they would work SOMETHING out. Guess what their working out was? We have your money now schmuck face and we aren't giving it back so go screw yourself. In the course of talking to Amy while she was still in the store, Amy finds out that the employees are on "monthly quotas". Ah, now the picture becomes clear. NOW the TRUTH comes out. Amanda being so nice in the beginning. The "we'll work something out B.S.". It was all about meeting monthly quotas and keeping some poor schmucks money at ANY cost once we have it!!! Thing is, Amanda had told me when she ordered the stuff that their heated clothing doesn't last very long "around here". That being the case, what was the big deal about them keeping a pair of pants that obviously to everyone in the store, weren't going to work and crediting my credit card? It's not like I had ordered some exotic part that was going to sit on the shelf for two years and not sell. Was I asking for something unreasonable? Hardly. It's not like I ordered everything on emotion and then had a change of heart and wanted to return everything. I wanted and kept the jackets. They made money on them. They would not budge on crediting my credit card and I got an email from Amanda that said and I quote, "policy is policy". Great. In other words, meeting my monthly quotas and keeping your money and the customer be damned is FAR more important to me, my dealership andmy boss than making a customer happy and having a repeat customer. I guess the money is more important than keeping a bad review like this one out of print. I guess money and "policy is policy" is FAR more important than morals or ethics here huh. Amy was almost in tears but they didn't care. She walked around trying like gangbusters to find some stuff to buy, finally buying some stuff she really didn't need or want but having to spend my sacred in store credit that their policy says they will only give in a case like this. Money that they would NOT credit my credit card for. I will NEVER deal with these unethical and immoral people again. Minus 15 stars!!! read more

I been to a 4 dealerships around the Charlotte area this one is the worst by far. They seem nice until you get the prices and financing. Their prices are way to high compared to others in the area. But the worst put is the interest rates they are charging. The stealership has control over the interest rate for the most part. They can jack it up to make more money for themselves. That being said they were over double compared to the 3 dealerships I went too. I will never step foot in that stealership again. Make sure you do your homework and don't get screwed over. read more

This is by far the BEST Harley Davidson dealership. We purchased a bike at a different dealership some time and live within 10 minutes of another HD. However, while out shopping we stopped in at Speedway HD and became quickly aware that the quality of customer service exceeds any we have ever experienced. We have traveled the 45 minutes to Speedway on a regular basis ever since. A week ago,after contacting Kurt in parts, we received a recommendation to speak with Bambi in sales about an interest we had in trading for a new bike. Once again- the best!! Any of you men out there that think a woman doesn't know anything about bikes- well I challenge you to introduce yourself to Bambi the next time you consider buying a HD. She is beyond qualified, knowledgeable, pleasant, and simply one of the best to work with. The entire staff at Speedway HD is well trained and obviously enjoy what they do and want to make every customer that walks thru the door have a pleasant experience.
