Folks seem nice and all but nothing seems to happen Speedee here. Lots of hands in pockets and standing around by friendly staff. A nice feature of the shop is the big window to view activity. I needed an oil change and tire rotation. They could change the oil, but not rotate the tires as a truck was being stored in that particular bay. Disappointing in a quick service shop. I'll keep coming back as shop is close to my home and work appeared competent, but they hard to recommend if speediness is a customer need. read more

Very very slow service! Arrived early last Saturday for an oil change. They immediately pulled my car in and seemed to get to work...but the service to change the oil, replace air filter and clean the windshield was so slow. I usually do my own service except for this time. In my garage at home it takes less than 30 mins. I was there over an hour. The problem I found was that the crew does a lot of chit chatting about other stuff than work...litterly stopping work to bs with all the guys. Where is the shop foreman to keep your guys on point... Less talk more work. The process was definitely not speedy. Over 80 bucks for conventional oil and air filter too..ouch! read more

Right when I pulled up, service was great. Brandon got me all checked in, an easy process. I got the 17 point oil change, definitely go with high mileage! They checked everything! This location keeps bisy, for sure. It was about an hour wait, which some would think is long, but they were busy, and through the window of the lobby you could tell these guys work hard non-stop. They were servicing consistently, two cars then onto the next. The wait was worth it seeing their team be all around productive. I've waited at some places where the guys were goofing off and dragging everything out it felt like... so I appreciate the respect this team had for their customer's time. Took my car there to get oil change and I notice an oil leak on my driveway. The oil filter was loose. So I had to fix it myself. Ok now the real kicker was my father in law went there to get oil change and had a leak so he went back and said oil filter was loose and they told him someone else did an oil change but my father said no you did it. So on his report that he got on his receipt say the reason that it leaking is oil was tarnished and ate through oil filter and that what caused the leak. I'm not an expert but I didn't know oil can eat through metal. Come on just say we sorry we forgot to tighten it properly and take the blame. Today coming home from the mountains, our check engine engine light came on and the car was sputtering. We were 45 miles from home and concerned. We found this shop and were greeted by a very nice young lady. She explained our situation to Dwayne the manager. He was so amazing went out of his way to figuure out what was wrong, and could have charged us anything as we needed to get home. The price was very reasonable, and he overheard me saying my key fob was not unlocking my door. We were out in one hour, and he said " I fixed your key fob for you"!! Wow!!! Decided to take our family vehicle to SpeeDee for an oil change. Signed document stating an oil change was all that was going to be done. Upon payment, was given a bill for close to $200 dollars. Was told them that several filters were dirty and were changed during the process but was never consulted about this prior to them doing the work. Confronted the man in front about this and he apologized for them not asking prior to the filters being changed but stated, they were really dirty and we already did the work." After arguing with the guy they finally removed the new filters and put the old ones back in. When there is a contract of service to be done do not take it upon yourself to change that contract without having a conversation with the person who is lying the bill you bozos! How many people walk in your business and get up-charged? What you are doing is criminal!! 2) A little over 88 dollars for a normal oil change??? You gotta be kidding me! Tommy's garage in Ione is far cheaper and they don't lie, cheat, and steal! I took my vehicle in to have the oil changed like I have many times before, and was told they would not use the factory oil filter I bought from the dealer or the full synthetic oil I bought and brought in. Not too impressed. First I called in and they quoted me $75 over the phone for an oil change. I thought that was expensive but, they advertise a "17 point service" and I wanted many of those things addressed on my vehicle so I went for it. I also had a $10 dollar off coupon. In the end they really just changed the oil and even with the coupon charged me $81.00 for something I could have done myself for less than half that. read more

First off customer service was terrible.. Went in with a oil pan plug torn up so they were gonna have to extract the oil plug.. Waited close to an hour find out they can take the plug off. The employee morgan is a piece of shit didn't wanna do it becauae of personal issues and gave me my car back with out the oil cap back on so when they did call me to let me know i was already on the side of the road with my oil cap missing and my car turned off. I'm really not sure how to figure this business out. My oil change was prompt and all service techs were courteous and helpful. I was told I also had power steering and oil pan leaks. Looked to me like normal road grease. After concerns by owner Troy, I understand his concerns and my possible observation in his business. I have changed my 2 star rating to 4 stars, as he does care, along with his techs. Only negative was quote for rack and pinion replacement rather than power steering leak. I meant to leave this review a few months ago, but hadn't had the time to since its a long one. I used to always take my car to SpeeDee for an oil change and some basic services. They were great until I started having issues with my brakes. My brakes started making squeaking sounds which annoyed me, so I took my car in for a free brake inspection (you get what you pay for). They said everything seemed okay and it was probably just the composition of the brakes. They even test drove my car and said it was normal. The tech said he heard the squeaks but insisted they were normal. A couple of months later, my brakes were sounding REALLY bad. I took my car in again to get checked out, and again, they told me my brakes were fine. I made sure to ask them if it was a major issue and what caused the sounds because it was starting to sound like it was grinding on something. Their brake "specialist" told me that it was NOT a safety issue and that it was probably just the composition of the brake material. He told me that he can't "tell me to change my brakes because it is against the company's policy", but he said its up to me. Really "specialist"? I brought my car in to YOU to figure out what was wrong, but you "can't tell me to change my brakes." Makes no sense to me why their open for business if they can't tell customers what their cars need. (Oh, but they're really good about telling you to get new air filters to tag an extra $30+ to your bill! Your car might not be able to brake well/quietly, but don't worry, your air will be clean -_-) Finally, the grinding sound was so bad and was really scaring me, so I took my car into a different local shop (around the corner from SpeeDee on Hwy 49) about a week later. Within 20 minutes, they told me that my brakes were in need of replacement and should have been replaced months prior. MONTHS PRIOR. I called SpeeDee and told a manager how upset I was. He sounded apologetic, but jumped to a conclusion that the other car place was "probably just trying to sell you new brakes, because the specialist said I didn't need them." Um... YES THEY WERE TRYING TO SELL ME NEW BRAKES, BECAUSE MY CAR NEEDED THEM! I asked the new place to save the brakes for me because I was having a friend look at them. Even he said the brakes should have been replaced a while back. I own a business in Amador County, and I will NEVER send any of my customers to SpeeDee because of their ignorance and lack of safety precautions. After I spoke to the SpeeDee manager, he called me back once about 20 minutes later, but there was never any follow up ever again. In case that manager is wondering, my car is running perfectly fine, and my brakes are nice and quiet. read more

But, I have never paid $80 for parts & labor at SpeeDee Oil, where I lived, in the SF Bay area! They did not put a sticker on the windshield to report when the next oil change is due. I realize that they did a good job. The service team informed me about all they were going to do, but I never thought it would cost that much! So I had a screw in my tire, it wasn't a pebble! I just bought a new set less than six months ago from a different Midas location. I looked up Midas on my YP app and found this Midas nestled under SpeeDee. I thought it would be an easy plug job, but after careful consideration from the SpeeDee- Midas staff, the screw was too close to the edge of the tire, making a plug job too unsafe. Luckily, I had purchased the 60,000 mile warranty and Ryan honored the receipt of warranty, ordered me a new tire, and had me stop in the next day to replace. It was quick and better than a plug. Unfortunately, my "damn, when will that pebble shake lose," thoughts had me driving over a week on a low aired tire; I bent my rim. :-/ But! The Midas guys handled it successfully!! They got me back on the road safely and just in time to make my appointment. So pleased. I really liked the knowledgeable professionalism, their honest concern for my safety, and the friendly customer service - especially the love they gave my dog! I have nothing but good to say about Troy and his crew at SpeeDee. We taken our cars/trucks here for maintenance since they opened. We have never had a problem and they have never tried to sell us anything we did not need. We have ceased taking our vehicles to the dealer for any services. SpeeDee has consistently been half the price for the same services provided by the dealer. The crew is always friendly and services are done in an efficient manner. They offer free courtesy service which was a nice surprise and no one treated me like I was an idiot or tried to sell me things I don't need (seems to happen quite a bit at car places... that's what you get for being blond, I guess). If you know me you'd be suprised I gave this place 5 stars because they have a pet bird in the waiting room. I am terrified of birds so the 20 minute wait was hard. Everyone expects to have some kind of positive customer service when spending money at a business. You will not get that service here; their service writer is hostile! I drove up to get new tires and an oil change. I stepped out of my car to throw a piece of paper away.The service writer approached me. He asked me "what do you need?" I said "I'm here for an oil change." He said "why don't you get back in your car!" I said "excuse me?" He said "Get back in your car, I decided to leave!" All of this he said while walking towards me angrily; bodily language was very much implied here. None of his behavior made sense. I left not understanding why the service writer looked liked he wanted to fight me. I went across the street to les'swab, and got the work I needed done. Afterward I called the Manager. He had looked at the cameras. He was very apologetic for his employee. He was aware the behavior was aggressive and unwarranted, but obviously you can't take that kind of thing back. Here we go again, my mom went in to get new tires put on in the front a few days back and noticed today that there was a wheel weight laying in the drive way, told her about it and she went to gold country auto clinic to have another weight put on. It was the front driver side that fell off and also they stripped the lug nut putting it back on. I have also had bad experiences there as well. That is it, I'm fed up with this place. These so called mechanics are worthless, they haven't a clue what they are doing and clearly do not care about the customer or the vehicle. These people are going to get someone killed or seriously damage someone's car. I'm fed up and going to file a complaint with BBB and start the process on suing this business, WORST SHOP IN AMADOR COUNTY BY FAR!!! read more
