There is a dog group that meets there most mornings around 7.00 so if you don't like being bombarded with off leash dogs, steer clear around that time. The river access is awesome and the river can be taken north to Estabrook park, or south to gordon park and all the way to downtown if you connect with the beerline. The rivertrail is almost always empty, any time of day. Great for dog walking. You'll forget you are in the city.

Very nice multi-use Milwaukee County Park! I came here for a run, and it fit the bill on a nice…read morepaved path and also on the mowed grass trail. The area is perfect for a run, walk, hike with pup, or for an extended bike ride on the trail, heading north of Puetz Road. If you enter via 51st, there's a large parking lot closer to the nice newer kid's playground (not to be confused with the handicap accessible Kayla's Playground, nearby at Franklin Woods). There's also a small covered picnic area, bathrooms, and a frisbee golf course. The frisbee golf course just got paved "tee off areas", and I saw volunteers tending to them, and a few "golfers" out on a recent warm day. You can also access from the Milwaukee County Sports Complex. Froemming Park is top notch, and a nice example of adapting park use for local residents.

Clean, well, staffed, reasonably priced, decent hours…read more I recently started swimming here to rehab my shoulder. -The pool is clean, but doesn't seem over-chemicaled. -The chalkboard usually says the pool temp is around 86 degrees. -The locker rooms are pretty clean and the showers are hot. -There are usually one or two lifeguards in the chairs and one in the office, plus a worker at the front desk. -Day pass is $5 including a locker. At specific times of the day, they will hand lettuce to all the folks around to feed to the tortoise. Goat run was another fun event, which both kids and grown ups enjoyed. Essentially goats run from their enclosure to their home at 4 pm. When that happen kids run with the goats. There were several other animals and play equipments to keep kids entertained.
