Great place to have a beer or 4!
    Mike C.

I am so happy The Landing at Hoyt Park came to be. It's a fantastic idea in a great setting in lovely Wauwatosa. It's great for families, the community and exercisers that prefer a tall cool one as their recovery beverage of choice. Like me! (If I worked out, that is.) I've visited The Landing four times since their opening a month ago and each time I've run into someone I know. It's always a fun happenstance and for some reason very different than if you met the same folks in a tavern or restaurant. What makes it so, I'm not quote certain. Maybe it's the large tables that are not too different than the ones folks share at Munich's monster beer bash, Oktoberfest. Or maybe its the fact that it's quiet. There's no noise other than the laughter (or crying, someone's always crying) from small children running circles around the park. People are apt to share tables and engage in conversation while keeping an eye on the little ones. Maybe that's the coolest part of all -- parents that wouldn't dare bring their child into a tavern don't seem to mind bringing their kids to a park where they can enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Being child-free, it doesn't make a big difference to me, but I think it's cool to have a place where parents can go on a weekend day or workday evening where they can relax while the kids burn off energy running around the park. I like the selection of beers at The Landing, too. It's not for the snobbish, but there should be a beer type here that suits your palate. If not beer, there's wine too. Heck, they've even got a Cava from Spain! (Cava. Don't tell a Spaniard I said this, but it's just Champagne that's not from France.) If one's being persnickety, the lines can get a little long and the return of the rental glass is a bit of a hassle, but this is small stuff to me. Since I bring my own stein, the latter doesn't affect my enjoyment of The Landing at all. I suggest you do the same. Bringing your own will not only save you the trouble of the return, but will make you look like a real drinking pro too! ;) The Landing. Thank you to the people and politicians that worked hard to make this happen. I know it was a rocky road to the finish line, but I am certainly happy that you endured and brought the dream to fruition. Judging by how many folks I've seen enjoying The Landing, it looks like I'm not the only one that appreciates your hard work. To you, I raise my plastic Milwaukee German Fest 32-ounce stein that I bring to the The Landing so that I don't have to mess with the deposit high in the air and say "Prosit!" Prosit!

Cute little place for the kids to swim and play! Nice little snack bar options! We will definitely go back when we are in town!

Fun summer place to go. Would be nice if the drink selection was bigger (GF beers or some ciders). Enjoy the live music as well.

WOW! What a cool…read morepark area. Plenty of parking. Free. There is a nice easy paved trail, and if you are lucky enough, you may come across a deer eating some leaves. There is a pond or stream, there are flowers, birds, and all kinds of sights and nature to enjoy. If that is not your thing there are baseball fields, tennis / pickle ball courts, basketball courts, etc. Definitely a great place for some peace and quiet / solitude, or a date, or a family gathering. I can't believe how lucky we were to come across the deer and of course I did not have my camera with me because the rain was coming, so I only got some cell phone pics and video. The area around the park is nice too, so green and woodsy. If you are in the area, and want a nice park to try out then you should give it a chance.

As you can probably gather, it's a massive green space, with lots to enjoy! Great for families as they playground is very quality. There are paths/trails that wind around the pond and wooded areas. You'll find plenty of tennis courts (I still come to watch my dad play all the time), as well as baseball diamonds, a frisbee golf course, volleyball nets, and some hills in back that make great for sledding in the winter. The swimming pool is massive (open June-August), and offers both lessons and fun theme-nights. Truly something for everyone at this park! Not to mention, it is extremely well-kept. I love coming back here and can't wait to bring my son once it warms up outside.

By removing a few under utilized class rooms, they've created an open space for more body weight movements. This was a great update. Parking is always tricky because of the multiple clinics and city market, also on site.

Also, there will be classes off blocking off the entire weight room during my only period of time to work out so I am unable to get the kettlebell weights needed for my exercises due to a class using a PUBLIC room. Lastly, the pickleball afternoon times are so limited and they will randomly have lessons without posting anywhere on the virtual schedule causing people to drive all the way there and they can't use the gym for the already limited pickleball times. I mean you guys have two apps (confusing!) you'd think you could figure out how to post the times online... The good: for what you get with the classes and really nice showers the price is relatively affordable.
