Found this on a list of best playgrounds in the MKE area. There's a rope pyramid, a giant plastic climbing boulder, and a cool spiral-shaped sand pit. The highlight is the pair of 30' metal slides on the side of a hill. When we went in mid-November, there was a layer of frost or snow on them that the sun hadn't reached yet. My eldest didn't want to wait for one of the other kids to go down so got his pants wet. He flew off the end though, so he was happy until he was cold.
There's also some substantial picnic pavilions here, and a boat launch for the eponymous river, though it looks more for canoes and kayaks and not pontoon boats. Plenty of walking trails too, looked dog-friendly too.
It's a Waukesha county park, so you need to get a window sticker or pay for a daily pass. When I went it was on the honor system because it was late fall in COVID times, but then I had a pass anyways.
So probably worth atleast one trip if you have adventurous kids, but I don't think i'll be back unless I move closer or am otherwise close by. read more
