This is my favorite dog park that I've been to in Milwaukee, and we've tried a lot! We used to switch back and forth between here and Rover west dog park but this one always seems a little more busy, which my pup loves! It can get a little muddy after it rains or snows here, but the wood chips seem to help a little bit with that. It's very spacious, and the regulars here are very friendly! If you're looking for a busy dog park for your dog to socialize while hanging around a bunch of people who love their pups just as much as you do, this is it! An added bonus is that the bar across the street is dog friendly, so if you have to stop in for the bathroom or a drink your pup is allowed! Right outside of the bar is a dog washing station just in case your dog seems to love the mud piles that is reasonably priced! It's great so you can avoid the mud in your car. read more

Pretty cool dog park, love that it's across from a bar that allows your pup. Always a bunch of other friendly dog for mine to play with when we come. Only down side is it gets muddy and my dog always wants to roll around in it so definitely want to avoid it if you don't like giving your dog baths every night. read more

This place is amazing, as the training is awesome. The trainers are very patient here. Also, took my dog to very well controlled. Play times. My dog had so much fun there, and was very active. Every time, she would come home tired out. play times are extremely safe, as the staff is very aware of the circumstances, and what is going on. I have never seen any dogs getting aggressive towards one another there. read more

My dog has no chill. He needs a big open space to stretch his legs and go running all over -- even better when it's with another pack of dogs. He'll run from one end to the other, chasing dogs, me and sometimes a ball that I find laying at the park. After a run around, he'll come over to one of the water bowls that are supplied at the park and re-hydrate. And then he's back to running around from one end to the other. Repeat. I like this park for these reasons. There are usually a ton of other dogs there and their owners are just as friendly as their furry companions. We'll have a chat while watching the dogs and share tips and pointers about the dog owner life. But that's about all there is at this park. It's simple, quiet and nice. There are benches for owners to sit at as well as dog poop stations stocked with bags for doodoo. But if simple isn't your thing, you might want to look elsewhere. There aren't any obstacles for the dogs to climb on or run through, there aren't any trees (literally) inside the fenced in area and there are a few patches towards Lincoln Avenue entrance that are filled with stones and rocks. So your pup might want to be careful around there. But if you're looking for a place for your dog to burn some energy and run around, you're in the right place. read more

Bay View Dog Park - Sunday morning dog park! - Dog Parks Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

My general gripe with this dog park is that a lot of people know each other, which means that they use this as a social opportunity. I love that sense of community. My problem is that many people don't watch their dogs here because they're busy socializing. It's challenging for new folks or new dogs that may be timid. The other thing about this park is that it gets REALLY muddy when it rains or snow melts. If you can, I recommend going to Currie Dog park on Mayfair. It's really big, has a lot of room to roam, and it doesn't get so muddy, especially on the upper side. read more

This is likely the smallest dog park in Milwaukee county. It's largely all open play area with much of the ground covered with mulch. It's not uncommon for there to be mud and puddles. If your dog is social and likes to actively play with other dogs this park definitely meets that need. There is minimal shade and minimal nature for your dog to explore. For example, this park doesn't have trees, bushes, shrubbery etc. There are a few benches. If your dog does get into mud puddles there is a handy dog washing facility just a few blocks away. Also, be aware that there is a decent coyote population in the immediate area so you may want to avoid the park at peak coyote times. read more

It's a large gated green area underneath the highway. There are a few benches scattered around the area. There's plenty of street parking or if you live in Bay View, it's in a very walkable area. It's a great way to let your dog run their energy out but I would suggest bringing your own ball to throw around in case there aren't any balls in the park. read more

One of the few fenced in dog parks I've found in the city! The pros: there's always lots of dogs to play with, water bowls and huge jugs of water for the dogs. There is usually lots of street parking and the park itself isn't huge so you don't feel like you're going to lose your dog. They have poop bags and it's usually pretty clean. The cons: not a ton of grass. Lots of wood chips and the location is really weird (under a bridge). There's also not a lot of trees so in the summer it can get really hot for the dogs if they are running a lot and there's not much space for them to lay in shade. Overall, very thankful to have this dog park close by! read more

We got an airbnb for NYE in Milwaukee and took our pup with! It was a chilly NYE day but there was a lot of dogs running around and playing. The area is large, fenced, and has doggy poop bags. Downside is that they don't have a water pump or trees. read more

Oh, Bay View Dog Park, I was so excited for you to open! Here are the high points - Walkable from my home Good fences Lots of tennis balls Lots of benches - which I think were donated - thank you! Lots of bags Disappointing parts - Small - this is the most disappointing part. There is a huge and under utilized field literally across the street that would have made for a better park location. As it stands, people still run their dogs off leash over there, but there are no fences, which is just asking for tragedy. The grass/path situation. This was the first spring where they closed the park for a few weeks to let the grass grow. However, it doesn't look like any fresh seed was put down, so the mud boggy parts are now dust patches, which are fun when it's windy. And folks are letting their dogs dig, which is destructive in such a small space. Paths are not maintained and people are really bad about cleaning up - don't wear shoes you care about or that can't get hosed off after. Between noon and 5pm, the crowd tends to responsible, sensible owners of well trained dogs who pay attention and remove any fuzzy friends who are clearly done for the day or not feeling the vibe. After 5pm, the number of aggressive, persistent, and poorly socialized animals goes up sharply, ruining the experience. Again, this park is too small for dogs to select which ones to socialize with. It's ok, and it's nice not to have to go to runway all the time, but it could have been much better. read more

The new dog park on the block, the Bay View Dog Park is a great addition to the neighborhood. Located near Lincoln and Bay and tucked away under the bridge, it's a nice fully fenced in space. I have small dogs to I have to be very cautious about "fully fenced" parks. This one has a couple areas where the bottom of the fence is a little high for my anxious mom style of dog parenting. My dogs are about 10lbs. There is a lack of shade, however plenty of benches. I would suggest bringing your own water, there is a water station, but on two of my visits the water was empty. There is no small dog area, but you can easily see the end of the small park so I felt just fine having my little ones run around. read more

I took my 4mo old Staffy here and he loved it. I loved it as well because the park is pretty good in size (enough for the pup to run around and enjoy himself), but small enough to not have to run around for miles catching him. There are benches to sit on, some water jugs, and a bridge you can sit under to enjoy the shade. Overall, this was a great experience and Loki loved it! Forgot to mention that it is always filled with dog owners and I haven't socialized this much my entire life, lol. The area around is also wonderful-all around a great park. read more

Nice, fully fenced dog park. Partly located under a bridge, which is nice for shade and/or inclement weather. This is pretty much a big yard where the dogs can play. No separate small dog area is available, so if this is something you require, I'd check somewhere else. read more
