Ingram Park - My babies that love park

I found this new (to me) dog park here on Yelp. My sweet dog loves to swim and this park literally…read morehas a manmade pond in the shape of a dog bone! It's perfect! The overall park was a nice size, mostly lawn and the pond. There was a picnic table under a covered roof and a bench facing the pond. This is a great park for dogs that love to run and swim! There is also a second space for small dogs. The swimming pond is located in the large dog area. Double entry gates are present for both play spaces. I didn't explore the other areas of the park but it appeared to have a children's play area as well as other outdoor spaces.

Most of the dogs are so well behaved and they all just have a blast together. There's a cool bone shaped pond in the middle of the bigger dog area for the pups to romp in and cool down in on hot days. It's bottom is sand, not mud so they don't get too dirty. They have a smaller area for smaller dogs. My Gretel is wee but she doesn't stay in the small area if me and our big baby puppy, Hanso, are in the big area. So she just comes with abs rules over the park. Just ask anyone about Gretel and that's what they say, not me. Lol There are picnic tables and benches to sit on for our old tired bones. Kids are welcome and there's a playground outside the dog section. Right by a yet BIGGER pond with a walking path around it. Many dog folks walk their dogs around that one as well. They even provide poop bags at both dog park areas to clean up after your fur children. Everyone is welcome as long as their dogs aren't "vicious" like Gretel the Vocal Queen. See ya here!

I used to visit this park frequently years ago with my previous dog. Now we have a new puppy and…read morefinally received all of the proper permitting for her and was able to visit this park last night. There's a big sign off Rawson Ave to let you know where to enter. The gravel road back there is very bumpy so you have to go very slow to get to the park. The park itself is next to a golf center and there are several signs posted to let you know where dogs are and are not allowed. Once you park and make your way through the double gates you can choose to either let your canine friend go off leash and run around the big field, or bring them to the small dog area. Last night there were loads of pups all sizes wandering around the big field, so that's where I took my puppy. Since I've been here last it looks like there have been some really nice improvements made such as agility training toys the dogs can play on and less potential mud pits. However, I did see one dog who looked like he had a roll in the mud, so maybe bring a towel with you to wipe down your dog just in case . We didn't get to walk around the whole field, but there's plenty of room for spacing out. There are paths you can follow that will take you all round the park and down through the middle of it. There are also a ton of water bowls placed around for dogs to take a drink. Several people brought balls and toys for their dogs to play with. Others enjoyed just standing around and letting their dogs socialize. I am very happy with our experience here last night and will come back again!

Easy access from Road ZZ, Dousman, WI. $8 parking fee (Wisconsin residents) or $11 (non-residents)…read more Annual passes also available ($28 residents; $38 non-residents). Plentiful parking. Clean restroom with pit toilets. Picnic tables. Benches. We enjoyed a 3.2 mile hike here. The "red loop" is a 2.3 mile loop to/from the parking lot. We wanted to cover a bit more distance -- so we added a portion of the green loop and the lollipop loop to the observation overlook. (Total distance was 3.2 miles with the amended route). The red loop is the park service as "short and narrow with steep terrain. You'll pass through pine plantations and hardwood forest." We particularly liked this segment, shaded and with the scent of pine. It also appears that some recent work has been done to clear underbrush. The segment of the "green loop" that we did is described as "a roller coaster of hills that you won't soon forget." We found this to be accurate. The trails are well-maintained, with excellent signage along the way. There are regular signs that identify where you are on maps, as well as regular blazes. There are regular benches if you want to stop for a snack. Much of these trails are at least partially shaded with only limited segments and times (noon!) that are in full sun. We saw a fair number of other hikers, perhaps a total of 10-12, even on a Wednesday morning. We also saw a bit of wildlife -- a very fat turkey, butterflies, and bumblebees. (there are also supposed to be ticks, so be careful). Two thing prevent me from giving a 5-star rating. (1) park policy allows pets on the hiking trails if they're on a leash. However, all SIX dogs that we saw were off-leash until the owner saw us. In one case, a large dog came running towards us (with no owner in sight) while we were eating our lunches. Thankfully, he obeyed when my husband told him to sit. (Full disclosure. I'm rather afraid of dogs after having been bit). (2) the park also allows hunting, and suggestions to wear bright clothing and to inquire about hunting seasons. However, no park personnel were on-site and, signage suggested that there's a long-g-g hunting season (Sept 1 to end of May). (May 10, 2023).

The area is very clean, and very well kept. I highly recommend to check the Ice Age Trail website before visiting. They have great resources to prepare you for your visit, and even suggestions on where to go in the area depending on your type of visit.m, as well. This is a trail for active people, who are looking to be out in natural trails. Come early, and you'll feel like you have the place to explore all to yourself.
