The path has been preserved nicely by all the estate owners that live on the lake. The path is rugged in places made up of brick, wood, stones, boulders and slate. It's an enjoyable walk with plenty of breathtaking views and colorful inlets that change in the seasons!

As an adult, I love this path, it is right along Lake Geneva and in the backyards of multi-million estates. I love looking at estates and observing the activity on the water at the same time. The path is a bit narrow and there isn't anywhere to break off to use the restroom, so be sure to make a stop to the bathroom before you start the path. Weekends tend to get pretty busy, so try going on a weekday and there won't be any crowds on the path. We plan to hike this whole path (about 23 miles) by the end of spring or summer 2020. So far, we've made 2 trips and covered 7 miles of the lake (14 miles total back and forth) and plan to make more stops in order to go around the whole lake. By the end, we will cover the lake twice. Haha. So far so good, but I'll update this review after I hike the whole path.

Delavan streets (like any streets and sidewalks) are brutal on the knees and difficult to enjoy when having to keep a watch out for passing traffic. Congdan Park has become a savior to my fitness. The park is mostly comprised of a pond for fishing with a surrounding .9 mile trail. There are gardens with picnic tables and a water fountain on the west side, which is beautiful in the summer. The trail is relatively quiet, so I haven't had trouble taking laps around the pond, and it's really quite lovely to rest up afterwards in the gardens. One drawback is that the park is right next to highway 43, but if you're going to try and make an area more beautiful why green around the pavement? It's a lovely area that wont be lost on its visitors.

It's in a glade by the river, there are a couple of informative historic signs. That's all there is to it, but I'm telling you, it's worth a visit.

There's a nice interpretive booklet that helps explain numbered highlights. There's a cool decaying building over the springs, which was purely ornamental, the springs works whether its covered or not. The Petit (Pabst) family owned the property and put in a lot of features like a circular wading pool, a gazebo. The springs were bottled and sold until the 1960s, and another owner ran water powered electric in the early 1900s; the first house with electricity in the area. The pond is stocked w/Brook Trout for catch and release only. And across the way there's an old homestead from the 1860s which is in great condition. This is a nice short hike with lots to learn about.

My 8 year old daughter…read moreand I spent the morning tracking birds with our Merlin Bird ID sound app and picked up 33 species including 2 rare species. We also saw a gorgeous velvet buck about 30 feet away. The Children's park has a garden area, natural play area, worm digging and a fishing stream along with little bamboo fishing poles. The Fest was at Echo Veterans this year. The park is fantastic with great views, a walking path, clean restrooms, etc. I figured the food was pretty good, and cheap, although I did hear some people complaining that $2 for an ear of corn was too much. The brats were $3 each, also there were hot dogs, burgers, beer & soda (oops I mean pop), nachos, and pickle-on-a-stick for sale. There were 15 or 20 different craft vendors selling stuff like blankets, candle holders, wood carvings, etc. The permanent play ground was getting a lot of use due to all the kids there. The plastic on the slides was smokin' hot even though it was kind of windy and barely 70 degrees out. Beautiful brat eating weather though. The owner is very kind and always checks up on us, whether it's to see what fish we caught or if we need anything at all. I come here multiple times a week because it is so worth it to me. Castle Park attracts so many friendly people and I met a lot of others with a similar love for the outdoors at this property. It is also kid friendly. Whether I come to go for a walk, fish, or even have a picnic, this is the place to go!
