Big Foot Beach State Park was conveniently located near a wedding, allowing us to camp here instead…read moreof doing a hotel. The state park is much smaller than average. Additionally, there is not as much to do. There are some trails, although they were cutting plants and working on some. The main attraction was the lagoon near the road. The city was working on gates from the lagoon with painted crosswalks. Given the minimal traffic past downtime, walking on the side of the road is safe enough. It connects to the Lake Geneva lake trail that goes through the backyards of nice houses. Calling it a beach state park is a bit of a stretch. Across the road from the entrance lays about 2 feet of sandy beach. The campsite does have RV options.

Get motivated by coming to Congdan Park!…read more I like to do some running as part of my physical fitness routine. Delavan streets (like any streets and sidewalks) are brutal on the knees and difficult to enjoy when having to keep a watch out for passing traffic. Congdan Park has become a savior to my fitness. The park is mostly comprised of a pond for fishing with a surrounding .9 mile trail. There are gardens with picnic tables and a water fountain on the west side, which is beautiful in the summer. The trail is relatively quiet, so I haven't had trouble taking laps around the pond, and it's really quite lovely to rest up afterwards in the gardens. One drawback is that the park is right next to highway 43, but if you're going to try and make an area more beautiful why green around the pavement? It's a lovely area that wont be lost on its visitors.

Seeing the moraines, the leftover hills and ridges from the retreating Wisconsin Glacier, 10's of thousands of years ago, was a geologic trip through time. There is a paved trail which isn't too long, but is ADA compliant so that's a plus. We did a three mile loop, checking out the bluffs and taking the stairs down to the secluded little beach. Lots of poison ivy....which is normal to the area, but really it's best to avoid it by staying on trail and covering up. Seemed like leashed and/or well behaved dogs were welcome. Worth checking out.
