Negative stars should be a thing. we were with ATT forever but the promise of radically cheaper service was enticing since I'm retiring soon. Every step was a joke. Incorrect information given by everyone we spoke to. Installation took multiple visits, eventually we had service but 1 gig was more like 300 mb on a good day. Switched phones as well, horrible horrible horrible service. Slow, often low or no signal. It's so bad we are giving back the $1000 gift card and switching back to ATT. First off, I'd like to say I love the price and mobile service. What I DO NOT LIKE is them stealing My Samsung S22 and charging me full price for a Samsung A14, which was what the trade should have paid for. The service was fine but I would recommend going to the east end location and getting EVERYTHING IN WRITING. TAKE PICS AND DON'T SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU'VE GOTTEN DOCUMENTATION OF YOUR TRADE. WATCH YOUR BILL BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT 60 DAYS TO DISPUTE ANYTHING. If you can, I'd get someone to go with you and film the whole transaction on their phone. Due to rank incompetence or just outright sleaziness, I got screwed out of an S22 completely. If I could give it a zero I would. I recently moved to Louisville and signed up for Spectrum. Service was affordable, under $60 for 600mbps. The first two weeks service was great then it started dropping. Up to 10 times a day. Tech came out, did line work and replaced modem. Worked great for 2 months then started dropping 10+ times a day. Tech came out, replaced modem, said all was good. 4 hours later, service dropping every 15 minutes. I work from home so it was impacting my livelihood and the only answer they gave me was a lame apology and to keep replacing the modem and telling me that my neighbors were fine. I went door to door, none of my neighbors have Spectrum and all said they never would. I'm paying more now with ATT but at least it is reliable. I've been a Spectrum client for a decade + prior to June 15 of 2024. The service techs have always been professional. I know this because we had them out to our house many, many times. Especially in the past 18 months. We ran new lines we got new equipment we had the signal to our equipment rebooted dozens of times, a near weekly necessity. Now for the fun stuff. I called to cancel , as we switched to Att (it's great btw), and clearly they have a customer retention policy to not take no for an answer AND simultaneously upsell you on services. When I insisted that I'm only canceling my service the retention lady gets an attitude to the point that I hang up on her. I will burn my house to the ground before I have Spectrum again. If you can find a better service for internet and phone, go with it. I ordered spectrum internet for 4 offices in the same building. I had to get 2 accounts, 2 fees, etc. because THEY CAN'T provide service to 1 company on 2 floors. Then when I added phone service I was charged an installation fee for someone to come verify (by asking me) that I inserted the phone cord into the correct outlet on the back of the black box where there is a picture of a phone! Geez. I wouldn't be so insulted if they hadn't just mailed me the equipment for my home and told ME to hook it up. No one ever came to my house to verify I did it correctly. Get internet service it works; get phone service it works. If not, then call for walk thru or a for fee site visit! The 2 stars are for the customer service rep in customer retention who was able to bundle my phone and internet like I was originally promised, but not done! read more

I would not recommend getting Spectrum internet if you live in the Louisville area. There are constant outages and they do maintenance during business hours that can last all day. Very inconvenient if you work from home. Their technical support is not empathetic or helpful either. read more

Then made me pay for the phone outright because of their mistakes. I was told I was eligible for a free line then 2 months later was charged for it. Refused to refund my money. I've been a regular Spectrum customer for as long as Spectrum has monopolized our cable services in Louisville. Always paid my bill and never cancelled.. so they give us a 40% discount on their wildly overpriced bundled internet TV and phone. Recently I added fiber internet from a local company without changing or cancelling ANY Spectrum services and before the fiber was even installed, they retracted their 40% discount. If this is how they treat customers that have paid thousands of dollars per year for their poor service and slow speeds and regular outages, we are done. This increase in price (for perceived disloyalty?) is just the incentive I needed to drop everything entirely. The savings we will have by cutting the cord are even greater and will save more money than their fake discount for the bundling which we STILL have.. but change can be good. And in addition to a review, if you are in a similar situation, the Securities and Exchange Commission as well as the Federal Communications Commission need to hear about how they do business so take a little extra time and file a report so they will have to fight to keep THEIR privileges from government broadband subsidy programs. Shop around.. you might be surprised at the money you'll save by removing Speculum from your business. read more

I'd give a 0 if I could. The reps who help answer questions about your bill were polite and nice, but the guys who set up your service and can change your plan are thieves! I was lied to many times about the final cost of our plan, and it ended up being anywhere from double to 4 times the price I was told. Services were added to our plan that we didn't ask for, and when we tried changing it to make it cheaper, our new customer promotion was taken away without us being told, so it still ended up being expensive! In general I'm happy with Spectrum, but today they were understaffed and customers were getting angry. It took so long I left because someone said mornings were better. I went about 1:30pm. At & t just came to our neighborhood and we were thrilled to switch. Spectrum held us hostage for 25 years. They did great things for new customers but NEVER one time did they ever give us a break. Maybe if we had other viable options for cable and internet, it would force them to provide a better product and better service. We stopped in to return a modem/router, as I was canceling my service. I had received a bill charging me for unreturned equipment. They give you no time to actually make the return before charging you the $70 for it! Our last month on my account, we alback in their handsso had so many problems that they promised us a $20 rebate on our next bill. My final bill on my account should have been a $20 check from them to me. Not being charged $70. We think we have it figured out now. The equipment is back in their hands and I should receive a check for $17 (because when they tell you what kind of rebate they can offer you for constantly disrupting your service, they don't *actually* mean to refund you that FULL amount...) But anyway....I can't change the way the cable and internet game is played. This location gets three stars because my wait was short and what we needed done was accomplished. read more

Do NOT use this business. If I could give it a zero, I would. Our son was relocating because of a new job. He was working for UofL. We live in Colorado. We flew to Louisville to help him move. He left ahead of us in the UHAUL with his things. My husband and I had to fly out the next morning early. All that we needed to do was return the router that afternoon. Our son had called and set up for the internet to be disconnected the next morning. But the lady said she couldn't take the equipment back until the service had been disconnected. BUT didn't tell me this until she'd wasted 30 minutes of my time, asked to see my driver's license, and had me call my son, who she then told, she couldn't take it back because of a new policy!!!? I've always had issues with spectrum dealing with their outages and as they call it updates and such and intermittent internet connection but the last 3 months has been worse then ever! 3 months ago I started having issues with spectrum internet kicking of and would stop working few times a day 2 - 5 and it would come back on 1 - 20 min later. and as the days passed the issues became more frequent and my internet would stop working and it would kick me offline several times a day and now it's at a point where it will kick out in access of 50 times per day or more that I know of while awake and im sure it keeps kicking of while sleeping as well. It's really annoying paying for service that you don't get and dealing with a company that's not reliable. I've called spectrum and they told me that they could see that my internet would kick out so many times and I was told that I needed to go to a spectrum store and replace my router and it was my router that was causing the issues, so I got in my car drove an hour to go to a spectrum store to replace the router as advised. Came back home hooked everything up and guess what? No internet at all. So called spectrum again stayed on the phone with them for an hour so they can trouble shoot it again and in the end I was told that my issue seems to be my modem perhaps or something else so they had me go to the spectrum store for no reason wasted my time and gas driving up there. Now instead of going to work tomorrow morning I have to stay home and loose more money thanks to spectrum so that a technician can come here and hopefully fix the issue. I really feel like i wasted money I paid to spectrum for last 3 months because I did not receive the service that I paid for! imagine watching a 2 hour movie and the internet would kick out 20 or 30 times while trying to watch the movie. so a 2 hour movie takes 4 hours to watch. I'm not happy with spectrum and because of spectrum I've lost time and money and I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SPECTRUM! read more
