I needed a new laptop to go back to school because my wife's Mac just isn't compatible with many Blackboard applications that my college uses. Dan absolutely hooked me up with a Re-Certified Lenovo Thinkpad laptop. i5 Core processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a Solid-State Hard drive(SSD). Since the hard drive is brand new there's a 3 year warranty on it and he offers remote troubleshooting for any issues I may run into. Dan really stands behind his products! The last time I bought a brand new laptop, about 12 years ago, I paid over $1,000 at an electronic store. This was literally a fraction of the price! Many thanks to Dan and his crew at Access Technologies for coming to the rescue when my main work-from-home computer failed in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Long story short, my out-of-warranty refurbished desktop computer that I bought online only months ago had multiple major hardware issues come to a head (I bought a lemon!). Access was able to use some of the good components from my old, failed machine to build a new one. Dan was very communicative and transparent during the whole process and the price for service and parts was extremely competitive. This was my first time taking a computer to a repair shop as I'm usually the one swapping out failed hard drives, bad RAM, fried graphics cards, etc and I'm happy I did. It would've taken far more time, money, and frustration for me to try to diagnose my critical motherboard and power supply failures and put together a new machine myself while working full time. I took in a old HP laptop I'd spent years torturing (Diet Pepsi is apparently bad for keyboards) and they transferred all my data to my new rig and installed Libre Office so I can tell the Microsoft Corporation (try to get tech support from THOSE guys) to fly to the moon. Never in my life have I met a more kind and helpful group of guys. They didn't just go the extra mile when it turned out my school laptop that was just out of warranty was rendered completely ruined due to a fluke power conversion issue. They knew how important my laptop was to me since I'm an engineering student, but since my laptop had essentially become a fire hazard there wasn't too much that could be done for it short of buying an entirely new mother board which would have cost about as much as I originally purchased the computer for. Instead of handing my dead computer back to me and telling me that there was nothing they could do and trying to sell me a new laptop like any other tech place in the world would have done, they essentially gave me a used laptop that had belonged to one of them but was no longer being used very often, free of charge. I have never written a yelp review in my life but I would be doing a disservice to the city of louisville if I didn't write a review for these guys. As a broke engineering student, my computer was my entire life. All of my homework assignments, notes for classes and projects have to be done on a computer. The week my computer broke, I had 3 tests and all of my notes were stored online and I had no way to access them. Not only did they give me this computer for completely free of charge but they were able to do so in a day so that I could study for my organic chemistry midterm. What they did was so kind and so much more than they needed to do I'm almost tearing up writing this review. I cannot stress how important it was for me to have a laptop for school and how generous they were. They knew that my laptop was how I did everything for school so they took it upon themselves to make sure this broke engineering student didn't have to take out another $1,500 loan to buy another computer. Generosity aside, they were kind, quick, and clearly knew what they were doing. They have an engineer on site who is able to run more advanced diagnostics than most computer repair places. I will without a doubt be coming here when I can someday afford a new computer. read more

These guys rock. In June I took my infected notebook in and the repair ended up taking longer than they quoted, so they ended up charging me WAY less than they should have. Not only did they de-bug me but sat down with me to run through a maintenance "crash course" so it wouldn't happen again .. (I thought I had taken all the neccessary precautions, but apparently I hadn't!) It's now October and I haven't had a glitch since! read more

My son replaced his motherboard and processor in his computer and we both forgot to order thermal joint compound. The people at access were kind enough to just give us a squirt of compound for free. Will definitely be making purchases from them in the future. read more
