Went in to get my gaming laptop fixed to launch game that kept freezing after opening after troubleshooting myself involving uninstalling drivers and reinstalling drivers I couldn't get it to work. I called, explained and asked if they can fix it they said yes I asked if they charged for a diagnostic and they said no. The diagnostic was found, It was a simple setting in my device manager that I overlooked and was charged $25 for a little kid to click disable. Go here to get taxed on absolutely everything, and get charged for services labeled as free. read more

Eight years ago Custom Bytes built a computer for my paralegal. It was powered on non-stop for eight years, and was in constant use at least 40 hours a week. It went through two moves and never once had service. Last week it just gave-up the ghost. That is quite the run, in my book. Highly recommended. I could not ask for a better build or longevity. The power jack on my laptop was not charging well, so I ordered a new one. I found out it needed to be soldered in, and I don't have the expertise to do that. They soldered it in and I picked it up two days later. However, after about 12 days my laptop switched off completely. I opened it back up and the power jack they had put in had completely snapped off--a huge difference from when I took it in, as it worked, just not great. I took it back, and they said that because the part that I brought in wasn't ordered by them, they were under no obligation for any further assistance. 'It worked when it walked out of the store' was the response I got. I'm out $150 dollars (100 from the 'repair' they did and 50 for the port they broke) and now have no laptop. I would definitely not recommend this business if you need repairs. Update: Took it to a different repair shop, and it turns out they shredded the part where it needs to be soldered on to. I suspect they knew they destroyed it which is why they were so adamant about not attempting to fix it. I'm now out of a $2,000 laptop. Avoid this business at all costs. read more

I posted to Reddit since I don't know anything about pcs and was recommended to build the pc on pc part picker. (I have pictures of all the components they were going to use) after building the pc on the website with the monitor the total came out to $918 dollars. I took my old, tired Lenovo laptop to the team at Custom Bytes to get it upgraded to Windows 10 and have all the malware removed. In about one day they not only performed those two tasks but also upgraded my mechanical hard drive to a solid-state one (with my permission, of course). For a couple of hundred dollars total I now have a computer that performs lightning fast. The team there is wonderful and they never tried to sell me stuff I didn't need. Went in to sell my IPAD 2 16 gb black. They attempted to bully me out of it. They tried to lie telling me Apple was selling them fort $275 brand new. Tried to show me on Apples website but it didn't work for them. All I wanted was $200. They found a used white one online for $309 and then tried telling me the white ones were special edition and worth way more. Finally after their attempts to intimidate me didn't work they threw $200 across the counter. They didn't check my ID or anything. They got even madder when I reminded them to clear out it's memory so they didn't have access to my personal information. I am sorry that the used computer business isn't going too well for them. This place is awful. I thought they were helping me out by replacing my Dell laptop that I had taken in for service with a nice HP laptop. Wrong. The screen keeps shorting out in it, and everytime I take it in to have it fixed, they claim they don't know what's causing it and they can't do anything about it. How can you claim to repair computers if you can't fix a simple screen issue? And if it can't be fixed, replace it! It was less than a year after I got it before it started shorting out. BEWARE! DO NOT ENTER THIS STORE! I took my laptop into this place. I got an uneasy feeling when I came into this store with lots of equipment setting around,. The place was a stockpile of parts and equipment. It has a counter that's messy and the whole store is not anything like you've seen a technology store before! I wanted a new keyboard and wanted to update Norton Security. This owner, Alex Munits said I could wait there and I said I would be back later that day. When I came back, I had to call for someone to wait on me. This owner came out of the back with my computer. I had a new keyboard and he switched my keyboard to a used one that was missing the letters!! He also installed a security package that I had never heard of before. He said it was better than Norton! All this time he wouldn't look me in the face. I was angry and he wouldn't give me my money back and he said it was because I got angry!! A potential customer was coming into the store at that time and I told him do NOT do business with this man!!! This owner is a liar, unscrupulous and should be shut down! Later, I learned from a reputable store that this store and owner have a bad reputation. I wish I had known that before he took my computer in.
