He quickly looked at my laptop and suggested that I directly contact the manufacturer to see if they could help, even though the warranty period had passed. I had the good fortune to find Steve to clean up my Computer 7 or 8 years ago. I have found him to be courteous and professional. When the time came to replace my old computer, Steve recommended one and purchased it for me at a fair price, then copied all the necessary files for me.. The PC of a visiting friend crashed and died while he was here in Louisville, and he took it to Best Buy for Geek Squad attention for which he pays an annual fee. They sold him a new computer and after examining the husk of the dead one, told him it had no data to transfer -- he used the computer for 8 years! A completely empty grave, according to them. Nada. Utter devastation. I phoned several other Louisville places to see if they could help before I found Triple-S, through, of all things, these very positive Yelp reviews. I'm adding another one. I called the number, got Steve S on the phone, and he told us to come on over, right then. We left the old and new computers with him, and before we were even 15 minutes on the road home from his house, he called and said the data was there and he would be able to retrieve it. I'm not kidding. Not more than 15 minutes after we left what Best Buy told us was a data-less computer with him, he had found the gold. We left it with him Wednesday, picked up the old and new with newly restored data on Friday, with him doing a little extra fiddling remotely, with everything intact in the new one today. Friend goes home tomorrow. With the disappeared data fully restored, in very fast turn-around time and for very reasonable cost, including setting up his new computer. Thank you, Steve! read more

I am an engineer and friends and family often call on me when they have computer issues. Unfortunately, I am not much good when a hard drive dies with none of the files backed up like recently happened to my sister in-law. Checked around for someone who could recovery the data on the hard drive (if possible) and found out the Steve Schardein of Triple S Computers is the only guy I could find in the state of Kentucky that actually has the equipment for this. Everyone else sends the hard drive out of state for recovery or sends it to Steve. Working with Steve just cuts out the middle man. In any case, Steve took the dead drive and recovered just about every file, especially data files and pictures that we were afraid might be lost forever. Steve gave us a reasonable quote for the work, but actually ended up charging us $100 less because it was an easier recovery than expected. This is my first time using Triple S computers, but am sure it will not be my last. read more

Steve is the man! I had lost videos and pictures of our Hawaii trip that I had recorded on an SD card using a go pro and had erased and recorded over at least 5 times. He said the that would be most likely unable to recover. Steve was able to find one awesome video. He spent hours and hours. He said since he only found one video that he was not going to charge me. I insisted that he let me pay him. He kept in touch with me and through our conversations he was so passionate about finding my files. I would definitely use him again for lost files.
