Well let me be the first... I made a same-day appointment. Priscilla was thorough and polite over the telephone. I scheduled for an eye exam for glasses and contact lenses. I arrived early, filled out 1 small sheet of paperwork (the majority of information needed was collected when I called). The location is bright, spacious and has a TON of fashionable frames to choose from. The Optician/Eric was great. Priscilla and Michael (Optometrist) aided me with narrowing down my frame choices. Part I of the process was swift, professional and quite enjoyable. As I departed, I noticed they have Coco & Breezy sunglasses and even though they were in the midst of closing-a floor associate showed me a few pairs. Next Flex Spending trip... Racist and chauvinistic owner threw the product at me! The old man was so rude. Initially, he removed a cracked nose piece from my frames and broke it throwing it at me. He then put on a new one. Since it didn't fit properly on my frames, I asked him to adjust it. He angrily grabbed my glasses, took the new nose piece off and threw it again. I came here for a yearly eye exam and the Dr was really thorough and clean. She answered all of my questions and was very patient while I went through the tests. Especially since my last exam was 22yrs ago (not recommended) - she was looking for everything. Welp, looks like I needed glasses! So I started shopping and went to other stores and after deciding on the frames I wanted, Mike was able to order them for me. Once they came in he'd send me a text and they'd be ready the same day. I was so pleased with the level of service here, as well as the selection of frames. My husband also came in and did the same thing and needed glasses as well. Simple, fast, great people, great selection! I made a same day appointment for an eye exam through ZocDoc, when I came in , the checkin was a breeze except finding my insurance. Jennifer spent a good 10 minutes looking for creative ways to find my rather obtuse vision plan. Only a small discount, but worth it! The exam was professional, fast, accurate, and very conversational. I liked that Dr Chu explained each step, what would happen, and what she was looking at. All in all a great experience. I didn't buy glasses here, but the selection looks significantly more than the average discount eye glass shop (you know who they are). Highly recommended! read more

Our recent experience with Spex was terrific. My husband and I came in for an eye exam and new glasses and the folks at Spex were more than accomodating and very professional - not keeping us waiting and promptly checking on our insurance benefits. The eye doc and exam was quite thorough, too. What's more, Spex has a large selection of frames available, from economical to expensive, from which to choose. They don't try to push designer frames on you. In fact, Marielle offered great advice on styles, even recommending a pair of less expensive frames that made for some "awesome" (Marielle's apt description) prescription sunglasses. In the end, we ordered three pair of glasses that were ready within the week. There was just a slight snafu in communications when we wanted to pick up our glasses. We were told by one employee via text message that Spex was open on Sunday, only to find out they were closed when we came by. All in all, it was a great experience. We intend to return to Spex in the future and would recommend the company to anyone. read more

I've been a customer for a couple years. I'm an influencer and became aware of specs through a friend that worked with the company. I've worked with them, promoted the company in the past and purchased sunglasses and prescriptions frames. My Dita frames were purchased in 2017. I love them. With time, they became loose. I'll admit that I am not the best at caring for my frames, but they were still beautiful and my prescription remained the same. I visited specs a few weeks ago to see if they could tighten them up a little bit. I still remember most of the staff from past visits. I met with the owner (who was new), and he told me he could tighten them. He did so within minutes and I took them home. My mistake was that that I didn't try them on in the store as I was wearing my contacts. That night before bed, I switched from my contacts to my frames and immediately noticed that the frames were too tight to the point where I couldn't see straight. I also noticed he burned a piece of the frame off under the nose (I'm assuming when he applied the heat to tighten them). I went back to the store the next day and the owner was immediately apologetic and told me he would have them done for me by end of day. I picked them up the next morning, but this time, I was prepared to try them on in store. He fixed the damage and loosened them a little as promised but I immediately noticed a smudge in my lens that would not come out. The cashier called the owner who told me he didn't know how it happened and that he didn't pay attention to everything as he was just going to pop out my lenses and loosen the frames... as a professional optometrist and owner, how do you take glasses and not inspect for damage prior and after? And twice? It's like uhaul not inspecting a car before and after renting a moving truck. It honestly didn't sit well with me and I started asked more questions that pissed him off to the point where he began screaming at me and pointing to a sign that said he was not responsible for damage. He then told me he would pay half the cost to replace my lens. He told me it was a good deal and that he didn't have to help me considering I was out of warranty and that he was doing me a favor and not to piss him off or he wouldn't help me... I didn't and don't feel responsible for paying for but I agreed to because I wasn't in the mindset to pay for new frames regardless of his poor customer service and rude comments. He said he would call me in a week. After, I spoke to some of the employees in the front who heard everything. They were apologetic and was telling me how he is a nightmare to customers and just a mean person since the last owners. I believe he saw me talking to them because I waited a week and half and didn't receive a phone call. I finally called the store myself and was told that I was supposed to have left my frames for him to order the lens and that when I do bring them back, I have to wait an additional week for them to be fixed. Don't you think he would have told me that during my second visit and not let me leave the store? He took my information down and looked at my prescription on his computer but then "didn't think I wanted them fixed?" At this point, paying for a "good deal" is not worth the shitty customer service. That same day I went to another store and got the opinion from an other optometrist who told me "it didn't take rocket science to see that he applied too much pressure with his thumb and bent my lens when popping them out." I got a second opinion and was told the same thing. Beware of this place. The new management is nightmare. My $700 frames are ruined and I have to buy new frames over an idiotic mistake. If he would have initially taken ownership I would have understood that mistakes happen. Lying and placing blame on a client is wrong. Belittling them and insulting their intelligence is disgusting. read more

Thanks to those phony reviewers with literally 1 review and happen to be this place. YOU GUYS ARE FAKES. I had an appointment for contacts booked for Dr.Mun but never happened. It took me a half hour in there explaining my Davis Vision insurance. My insurance gives me $120 allowance to use on ordering contacts then an additional 15% off for brands not listed in my insurance (my acuvue 1 day moist 90pk does get 15% off btw). I spoke to a lady receptionist first and she pulls up my insurance information on her computer and despite the benefits listed they still wouldn't honor the 15% off because they claim they're "already at the lowest manufacturer price for Acuvue" TOTAL BS. My insurance clearly states the above benefits in paper and computer and they still wouldn't honor it. Their manager Michael comes out and repeats the same thing receptionist said. Wouldn't budge and pretended like my insurance doesn't make a difference. I walked out and called my insurance right away to verify the information and I AM RIGHT. My insurance company also fax the benefits to them and I called them again to prove I am right but they just act like they run their own business however they wish. This place will rob you of your money especially if you don't fully understand your insurance. You will be taken advantage of. Stay away!! They're not honest! read more

I found Specs RX when I did a search on my eye vision insurance (VSP) website. They were able to get me in that day, I had a great, thorough exam and they couldn't have been nicer through the whole process. I tried a new kind of contacts I hadn't previously worn but it didn't work out so they also gave me samples of the kind I wore before. As soon as my contacts were in, they texted me to let me know I could pick them up (and they arrived on Monday when I ordered them on a Friday - which was great!). Couldn't be happier. read more

Mike, the owner, was quite short and rude! I honestly believe he was frustrated with the fact that my vision insurance covered such a great deal. He initially quoted me outrageous pricing without taking the time to see what my insurance covered, and was adamant about it. on the day of my exam I came fully equipped with information from my Vision Insurance, just so I wasn't overcharged. The optometrist rushed my eye exam, and I felt as though he told her to cut corners. My daughter even said afterwards "Mommy that seemed so fast!" as she wears glasses too, and received such a more thorough exam at another competitor. Though I didn't put 5 stars, I'd recommend this place. The staff was nice and not pushy. I had and eye exam and bought glasses & contacts. I love the glasses I chose, though the selection was high-quality, there wasn't much of a choice for people with smaller heads. I don't think it's the stores fault it's just that big glasses are in style (thanks to all those celebs rocking the oversized glasses to hide their faces from paparazzi). They eye exam was good, but different than what I'm used to, the equipment was not as high-tech, and there wasn't an area to remove contacts before your exam. Usually the doctors I've been to have solution and a place for me to put my contacts. Also I was asked to put yellow drops in my eye, and I've never had to do that before. Overall, the doctor was cool, the staff was nice and I got what I needed done. P.S. Glasses were ready super fast (2 days), contacts came a week later. read more
