I highly recommend Specialty Aquatic Tile Cleaning! Joe was absolutely set to work with, super responsive, flexible, knowledgeable, reliable and professional. Joe retuned my call within the same business day. Scheduling was easy, and he was super flexible when I realized I had a scheduling conflict. He was reliable, showed up on time both times and very communicative in everything he was doing, and what I needed to do after the pool cleaning and tile repair. Joe was so pleasant and nice to work with. I emphasize this bc I had people not even call me back. Strongly recommend Joe! read more

After building a brand new pool 2.5 years back, I noticed on Day 2, a build-up of white calcium on the black tile. The pool looked gorgeous, and I trusted my pool builder completely. That was a really bad decision. Several checks later by several pool professionals including pool service folks, i learnt that the pool builder got me cheap black tiles that were not pool grade, not even outdoor grade. The pool builder has run off and has not even shown me the tile bills for the warranty. The pool builder was a cheat and skimmed me off on the black tiles and shoddy job. Anyway, long story short, this white calcium hardened, and no chemical in the market, advertised, in any home store, DIY could help. My pool guy cleaned weekly, but the white buildup never disappeared. In my search on Google, out of absolute luck, I chanced upon Specialty Aquatic Tile Cleaning and gave them a call. Joe answered and was very professional from the get-go. He asked for pictures, once received, and estimated the work cost. Joe gave me time, was prompt to arrive on time, surveyed the situation, and confirmed they were not pool grade, but he could do his best to remove all the hardened calcium. It was one of the best decisions. Joe was professional, on time, and kept me informed all the time during the work. He did a fantastic job, keeping the pool and the property extremely clean. He used extremely pool-friendly, pH-balanced material and did one of the most amazing jobs I have ever seen. He virtually restored my tiles back to the condition they were in on day 1. I highly recommend Specialty Aquatic Tile Cleaning and Joe. The pictures speak for themselves on the fantastic job done. Thanks, Joe, and if you are looking for similar cleaning or repairing services, I would highly recommend this company read more

I hate to inform everyone who uses / or is considering using Joe Valenciano at Specialty Aquatic Tile Cleaning that he refuses service to clients based on discriminatory business practices. I had a date scheduled for pool tile cleaning and developed a very positive relationship with Joe over the phone and via text, however upon his arrival, he was either offended by my flag pole displaying the American Flag, red, white & blue bannisters left over from the 4th of July and/or a TRUMP flag displayed on the interior of my home and immediately casted judgement and refused to perform work at my home... Certainly any business has the right to refuse service to anyone but I believe his business practices are extremely discriminatory and anyone who does business with him should caution themselves because I do not know what other discriminations he may have. IE: Religious, Sexual Preferences, Socio-Economic status, etc... Just be mindful and ask before he wastes your time and/or brings any malice or hatred to your home... read more

This was the best experience I've ever had with anybody dealing with our pool. Unfortunately, the pool was damaged during the Altadena fire. Joe did an amazing job of cleaning the tile and the sides of the pool. He was so respectful and so responsible. I would hire him for anything. read more

Joe came and went so did the ugliness of my tile. Very worth while service very well done. If you need this service go no where else !!!

Very shady and dishonest. Offered a great quote to clean the tiles on our pool, but then increased the price half-way through the job. After agreeing to pay the extra amount, Joe finished the job and said the solution used to break down the calcification would eventually breakdown and what little is left would get absorbed by the filter and that the water would return to normal within a few days. After a few days, the water remained cloudy, dirty and sticky. I then realized our pool filter was complete covered in sludge, making inoperable. Essentially, he left the mess for our pool guy to clean, which of course made him very unhappy and it cost me more money. Word of advice, be sure your quote includes EVERYTHING that the job requires. Other quotes were a bit higher, but now I understand why. Lesson learned. read more

I contacted Joe and he was responsive and professional. He cleaned up my tile that I thought I had to replace becuase it was sooo bad. Tile hadn't been cleaned in about 34 years. Joe gave it new light and saved me thousands of dollars. Would recommend him highly. I read his last review and didn't feel it belonged and it definitely wasn't my experience either. Thanks Specialty Aquatic Tile! read more

Joe is the best! He is professional, honest, kind, reliable and takes pride in his work. He uses a salt mixture instead of glass beads that most others use to clean the calcium deposits off and that was a huge selling point for me! Who wants chards of glass in their pool?! Another plus is that he doesn't drain the whole pool, just a few inches so he can clean the whole tile. He also had the best price and I wish I had known about him before I wasted time getting other quotes! My tile looks like new and we are so happy to have found Specialty Aquatic Tile Cleaning! read more

Joe offers a specialty service. And he was very good at returning calls and giving me very honest feedback. I ended up retiling my pool with someone else, but he helped me figure out what to do with his advice even when it didn't benefit him. That is rare. I appreciated his honesty. And in the future, if my pool tiles need cleaning, he will be who I go with. read more

I highly recommend this company in every way. I called Joe to talk with him about our pool tiles and stack stone, which needed a desperate cleaning (hadn't had it cleaned in about 8 years). He asked for some photos of the pool and he got right back to me once he saw the photos and assessed the work. I could tell he was a professional and very familiar with what was needed. He clearly told me what he would do and how much it would cost. He came on time and was so incredibly professional, kind, considerate, and thorough. I cannot say enough GOOD THINGS about Joe and his company. I will always use him when we have any issues with our pool tile. In fact, we shared this information with our pool guy, as we wanted him to know the best of the best, too! read more

I highly recommend this Company! The owner/operator Joe was so accommodating about fitting us in during the very rainy spell! He came out during one of the breaks in rainy weather and did a terrific job removing the calcium from the sides of the pool and replacing and repairing several broken and missing tiles! He was efficient and much less expensive than another pool company that quoted us approximately $500 over Joe's price just to remove the calcium! We were extremely happy with the job he did!!! read more

I mean, I'd give 6 starts if I could. Showed up on time. Clean, organized truck and equipment. Explained everything. Worked efficiently and cleanly. Our tile looks amazing and he explained (Joe) how to keep it that way. Priced fairly. Will always recommend! read more

My situation was complicated with tile, stone and bronze statuary needing cleaning and difficulty draining the pool. Joe was responsive and helpful. He kept in commuication and made a site visit to plan out the work. On the appointed day he arrived on time and went to work. Joe did all the work I contracted for and some extra tasks as well. He checked with me frequently to be sure the work was done to my satisfaction. His billing was the same as the estimate he had given me. Joe is the ideal service provider. He is reliable, knows his business, charges a fair price for the work and is a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended. read more

So happy! We're having our pool re-tiled and re-plastered. The limestone facing on our raised spa had calcium deposits that looked really bad next to the new tile. Joe V is a true specialist - not to mention he is extremely professional and courteous. He was always available for any questions or concerns we had. Our pool tile was in a BAD calcium-caked state (think 40+ years). Joe provided a couple of options, and we went with an eco-friendly option so our pool chemistry wouldn't be impacted. The pricing was very reasonable for our 22,000 gallon pool, and he got it done within 3-4 hours. Super satisfied with the results! Our family has never seen our pool look this great! read more

Joe was terrific from beginning to end. I needed my tile cleaned quickly for a special occasion and he was willing to move things around to accomodate me. His communication was great - we spoke several times before he came out and he even let me know he might be a couple minutes late due to traffic! His work was great and priced fairly. He also maintained COVID protocols (face covering, maintaining proper distance, etc.). I highly recommend Joe for your pool tile cleaning needs. read more

I sent pictures and dimensions of my pool to Joe and quickly received an estimate range. when I scheduled Joe was very responsive and showed up on time. We walked the pool and discussed the areas that I wanted particular attention given to. Joe's final price quote was right in the middle of his estimate range. The work was done before I got home from work and I was happy (my wife was even happier when she got home). It turned out better than we anticipated. A true case of under promise and over deliver! I'm never one to take a chance on a business with just one Yelp review, but I was getting really high quotes from a bunch of other guys and was running out of option. This leap of faith paid off! Joe was great. Showed up on time, was very detailed with the cleaning and got all the calcium deposit off the tiles around my pool. He even spent extra time cleaning areas that I didn't point out earlier and he didn't charge me extra for it. Super nice guy, easy to talk to, gave me a lot of tips on how to maintain the tiles and best of all he charged me half what others were asking for. Oh BTW he uses glass beads for the tile blasting so it doesn't have any harsh chemicals, which is huge for me because I didn't want anyone using chemicals that can harm my kids. Would highly recommend him to clean up your pool tiles and surrounding areas. read more
