    Winpoint Construction - So nice

We had a tough time trying to find a contractor to fully remodel our kitchen. We interviewed eight…read morecontractors before we finally stumbled upon Winpoint, through the help of Yelp. There were many contractors with high Yelp ratings, but we found the majority of the ones we spoke with were outrageously expensive and beyond our budget. The few that were within our budget felt untrustworthy, based on conflicting information/advice other contractors had given us. Then, with met with Winpoint's owner, Jun Wang. At our initial consultation, Jun patiently spent a fair amount of time learning about the vision we had for the new kitchen. The communication was clear. His demeanor and conduct were professional. He explained what he could and couldn't (or shouldn't) do. At the end of that consultation, he submitted a quote that I thought was (finally) a good value and affordable. He said our project was going to take six weeks. When all was said and done, it took exactly six weeks to complete. No excuses for why they couldn't finish on time, despite whatever roadblocks they dealt with along the way. I appreciated that he pushed hard enough to stay on schedule. In the end, he did what he said he would do - there were no broken promises. That was important to me. Winpoint is a smaller company. It doesn't have all of the overhead larger companies have, which means, in his case, that lower operational costs get passed onto the customer. If you need something, you deal directly with Jun, not a telephone menu from hell, not a phone operator, apprentice or assistant project manager. While he did have other concurrent remodeling jobs, I found Jun to be responsive to our needs, questions and concerns and never felt we had to wait in line to get something done. Jun is very good at scheduling. We had no bottlenecks during our six weeks construction period. With the exception of cabinet and countertop installation, Jun does not use subcontractors. Electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, tile installation, window installation, etc. are all completely within his control, which basically means that anything that doesn't go perfectly can (and does) get fixed by his employees right away and, more importantly, to his (and our) satisfaction. All of his employees are very good at their respective areas of expertise. Any minor imperfections were dealt with and rectified in a timely manner. Overall, I can recommend Winpoint for your kitchen or remodeling project. If you are looking for a good value and quality work, Jun is your man.

In the past, we've had issues with contractors being difficult to reach or completely ghosting us, but that was never a concern here--communication was clear and timely every step of the way. Jun and his team remodeled two bathrooms for us, including both the showers and bathtubs, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The craftsmanship was outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows in the finished work. Everything was done with care, and the final outcome exceeded our expectations. The quote provided was also one of the most competitive we received, which made the decision even easier. There were no surprises, and the project stayed on schedule. Overall, we're extremely happy we chose to work with Jun and his team and would absolutely recommend them for bathroom remodels or other future projects.

I knew that whatever house project we worked on next, I was going to hire someone who could bring the quality we wanted. I first reached out to Zenith Builder about potential home projects and met with Zuriel in 2023. He was honest and gave his perspective on the different options we were considering. We ended up not going through with any projects at that time because everything was out of our budget and we needed to figure out what we wanted. Fast forward to this past April, we finally decided to remodel our garage. I didn't even hesitate and knew I wanted to hire Zenith. Zuriel came out again and talked through the details of the different options we were considering. Once we decided on the initial scope, they started and worked quickly. The project manager was really communicative and easy to work with. When we added scope in the middle of the project, Zuriel was transparent about the additional costs and even though we approved over text, he would still quickly put together the documentation to send over for approval. If you're looking for a stress-free experience in remodeling/construction, look no further because Zenith is your answer. After the experiences we had, Zenith is worth every penny. I will use them again when we do our next home renovation.

They also offer drafting and 3d rendering services for a small added fee so you definitely know what you're signing up for prior to a larger project. After buying a new house, we were looking for creative solves to fix an extremely weird and small bathroom situation where expanding it was not going to be a straightforward solve given limited spacing in our house... and not wanting to expand our house which would take even longer to move in and break the bank for us. Zenith is your one stop shop, with electrical and plumbing covered for this type of project. They can also help with some materials too and you'll get a very clear quote on what is or isn't needed to purchase/covered allowances that they can help procure. While it looks like I won't be able to go with them this time (purely due to budget, but they were extremely fair and competitive with their pricing for the level of service they offer), Zenith was extremely helpful in giving us their perspective and I have no doubt they can get the work done in a great manner. Zuriel at Zenith was very patient with me and highly responsive with my questions, always responding back in a timely manner. Highly recommend you consider them when looking for contractor quotes!

Out of the inquiries, 4 responded and provided estimates in person. Roi, from JRD, was the last one to provide the quote and was the only one out of the four to provide a detailed explanation of what the work would entail and also showed photos of prior jobs and design inspirations. Needless to say, we went with JRD and from the get-go, Roi was responsive and kept us up to date every day. He made sure we were satisfied with the job before considering it closed. If you want a work done by a company who delivers on its promises and keeps in touch with you until the very end, JRD is for you. At first we tried to do it ourselves by finding family recommended architect to draw prints for us for submission and whatever else the city wants. Then we tried to find contracts and they either stuck up their noses at us or didn't even bother showing up at the appointment. Finding a trustworthy contractor is hard. So I looked up Yelp and found Mr. Parrague and initially contacted one of the reviewer, Henry, because he offered to shed more light on his experience. He was so kind and highly recommened Parrague Construction. And I'm living in another country and my Mom's English isn't fluent enough to handle this kind of matter. So I called Mr. Parrague and he made me feel safe. He is a one stop shop because I wasn't sure if the city was going to ask to redo the blueprints or not. He was very professional, on-time, and does not push for extra things just to make more money, in fact it's the opposite. He is tough, which you need to be when dealing with the city, and very experienced. He will go out of his way to help you. His crew is clean and his assistant is also kind and very communicative, but Mr. Parrague usually is your main point of contact. He likes to handle the calls himself. Once my mom called around 5pm saying they installed the garage door wrong (they did not) and I thought she got locked out of the house. I had to call Mr. Parrague from outside the country (Skype) and he said he will go straight to my house after his meeting which was an hour away from my house bc they had my spare key. I told my mom and realized she wasn't locked out. So whether it was installed correctly or not, it was NOT an emergency. I quickly messaged Mr. Parrague because it can be dealt the next day. I didn't want him to get in an accident trekking across LA. He understood and STILL showed up! This is now probably 7pm. They figured out that it was my Mom who didn't understand how the new garage door worked....So I am so thankful for them for their work and for dealing with the City and get me approved and case closed. I am a fan. XD
