Noelle quoted me a reasonable price over the phone and fit me in right away. Mike gave me info on a check engine issue, suggesting it be looked at in the future. No sales pressure, which was nice. I was very happy with the service. I'm hoping to move to the area and will be back if so. As an aside; I expected to see women working there (they emphasize they are female-owned), but there was only one, at the front desk. When I asked about it, I was told there aren't many women who are mechanically inclined. Wrong answer! I hope they make the effort to recruit female mechanics in the future; it would be well worth the effort!

Emily's Garage is one of the Seattle city-approved vehicle safety inspection mechanics.  They offer…read moreASE-certified TNC inspections, pre-buyer inspections, diagnostic services, and general car inspections.  They have three locations - Everett, Tacoma, and Burien. For the vehicle safety inspection, I didn't have to make an appointment.  It was fine to do a walk-in. When I visited Emily's Garage, there was a customer who was pretty upset with the repairs and the cost.  I was able to hear what the customer had to go through but I would not comment on that as I have limited information. From my experience of getting my vehicle inspected, I was very surprised at how quickly they were able to complete the vehicle inspection.  It was done in less than 2 minutes, and I paid over $50 for that service.   For comparison, when I had my vehicle inspected at Les Schwab Tire Centers in Portland, they spent over 20 minutes to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and the cost for the inspection was only $20.   Will I re-visit Emily's Garage for the vehicle inspection?  Probably not but if the state requires me to get the vehicle inspection done, I will probably have no choice as there are not that many shops that offer the ASE-certified inspection.

I noticed it was a locally owned business, and prefer to help out the locals that have been in the community for years instead of going to the bigger companies like Midas. I was extremely satisfied with the service I received, and the owner (Jibran) was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. Everything has always been exactly as quoted from the time it would take to the cost. They always call you when/if they find any additional issues and make sure you understand what the issue is, and that they have your OK before proceeding. They have never tried to upsell me on anything, unlike the bigger shops (Midas). Jibran was even willing to sit with me and call other shops to receive quotes on services/products and compare them to his prices. I have NEVER had an auto shop do this for me before, and that is a huge reason I chose to stick with OA. Someone once broke my side mirror in a Costco parking lot, and OA was able to fix that in a professional and timely manner as well. I called in and let Jibran know about the issue, he immediately ordered the part and set up a time for me to come in, and had my mirror fixed the same day. It cost much less than what the Toyota dealership and O'Reilly had quoted me at. I have been bringing my car in consistently to this shop due to their excellent customer service, honesty and straightforwardness. I have been recommending this shop to all my friends and family over the past several years, and not a single person has had any issues. I am glad to see that they are doing well, as they should be, and will continue to come back to them for any auto services. This is one of the best auto shops in the Lynnwood/Everett/Mukilteo area! **I did not get paid for this review. When we got the car back, the fan belt was making noise and the interior fan didn't work. We assumed they had not put it all back together correctly and so took it back to get the situation corrected. They wanted another 1200 dollars to fix it. They said it was just a coincidence that these things went bad at the same time. We said we would get a second opinion. It was after that, they told us that a 900 dollar part they had replaced previously, was defective and they would replace it free of charge. Like they were doing us a favor. Long story short, the fan mysteriously started working after we picked it up and the fan noise eventually went away on its own. Second opinion mechanic couldn't find anything wrong. The whole experience and comments from the guy at the front desk made this all feel very shady.

This was in February. They investigated and found a lot of parts they wanted to replace. My car being older (2005) I wasn't totally shocked by this but I asked for assurances that this would fix the problem and that the car would be reliable. They assured me this would take care of the issue. It cost $4200. Less than 300 miles later the car again died on me (intermittent stall) and I brought it back to GP Automotive (They hardly remembered me and misremembered the make and transmission of my car). They called me after a few days, said they were unable to reproduce the issue (so, no fix), and that I could pick the car up. I told them to take pride in their work and to please resolve the issue, reminding them that they had already charged me more than $4,000 and that the car was still not fixed, and that I was well within my rights to leave them a less-than-stellar review. They quickly agreed to redouble their efforts. They had the car from mid-May through to the end of July when they finally decided to replace two additional parts (they could still not confirm what the cause of the issue was) for an another $600. In that time frame I reached out for updates 15 times. They reached out to me three times. Again, less than 200 miles from pickup, the car died on me today. I will never return to GP automotive. You should never bring your vehicle there either. P.S. I would like to personally call out Nick for being extremely unreliable with updates, unrealistic on timeframes, and inaccurate in his quotes.
