Went here for a couples massage for my anniversary, and it was an amazing experience. They were really accommodating and ensuring they were taking all health and safety protocols due to COVID. My wife and I both got the deep tissue massage, they were able to work out knots from god knows how long ago, and left my back feeling better than it has in years. They were able to tell my back and calf were tight from previous injury and massage out the tightness without me even saying anything. Just proves that they know what they're doing. Our masseurs were Nathan and Kathleen, and we could not recommend them enough. Price is a little bit higher than I would like, but definitely worth the money. Have only ever gotten facials, but considering moving my spa membership here once I cancel my other one, which I don't love anyways. Not in anyway writing this out of anger but out of extreme disappointment. Over the last few months i have called this spa over and over probably about 10 times in a sporadic time period of 3 months. Not once have they answered. I have left maybe 2-3 voicemails in detail and i have never gotten a call back. I took my sister to this spa for mothers day and she did tell her esthetician that she was very sensitive, I remember because i asked her and she was nervous about the facial, i was also there that day. We were extremely disappointed by that night she had a very bad reaction feeling heat and itchiness on her skin and became very red. She called the Spa the next day requesting for a refund and she was told yes and then just hung up out of anger so I told her I would take care of the problem and give her the money i spent on her facial. There has been a lack of empathy of what happened to her face and no response at all I feel completely ghosted. At this point you will be seeing me walk in the spa for a refund from 3 months ago. I tried not to put pressure that's why I didn't call as much but as many times as I've tried it is just ridiculous at this point that I have to go out of my way to drive to the spa and tell you in person what happened to my sister's face and get the refund that we deserve. I got suckered in with the Groupon, and now I'm a member haha. That's how good this place is! I used to go to Milk+Honey for a massage on my bday, but the price and drive were not worth the hipster-aloof aesthetic. Spavia is more my speed: up north, plenty of parking, and friendly un-intimidating staff. I think my favorite part of the start up process is that you get to fill out a form online where you specify what kind of lotion/scent you prefer, the type of music you prefer, and even your exact shoe size down to the halvsies sizes. Not even milk+ honey does that. I try to arrive 20 min early to check in, change into robe and slippers, and hang out for a bit in the dimly lit waiting room. They have cucumber water or hot tea (the nice kind of tea, too, not garbage Tazo). I've gotten all kinds of massages over town, and have plenty horror stories to share. Everything here so far has been seamless and relaxing, which is why I'm such a huge fan, even if it is a chain. Both masseurs I had were very professional, but I will say their styles were extremely different for the same kind of Swedish massage. I kinda wish it were protocol to add an eye cloth or mask over your eyes when they ask you to turn over. I find that even that slight brightness adjustment during the flip over is a bit harsh, and I appreciate my first masseuse using an eye cloth, but the 2nd one didn't, so maybe I'll request it next time? I'm still trying to find the right Spavia masseuse for me, but that's a good problem to have, I think. Lastly, I booked a massage for my birthday, which is also Valentine's day. They had chocolate covered strawberries and roses for everyone to pick from, as well as a small valentines bag of chocolates to take home. Since it was also my birthday, they gave me a bag that came with samples and a black plastic water bottle. It was such an unexpected nice surprise. The friendliness of the staff and small touches are what bumps it up a notch. I know other spas have free add-ons for birthday incentives, which is a great idea. While I love the gift bag, hopefully they can someday switch to the add-on gift. - also, if you live nearby (one zipcode or closer, i think?) you get an extra $10 off the membership monthly fee. They do a lot of $10 off promos that last 3 months; you can't combine the promos with the zipcode one, but at least the zipcode discount is permanent, from what I understand. It had been a while since my last massage and found a Groupon for an hour long deep tissue and they had an opening that day so I figured I might as well pop in. The amenities are great - they have lockers, a shower, and a really cozy waiting room (that they'll let you hang out in and relax for hours after your massage) along with an awesome app that you can book appointments on. My masseuse was Katarah, she took excellent care of me and definitely got deep in there. As I was leaving I was told about their memberships and they were having a deal so I decided to go for it (it's really quite a deal). I went in again today and Lindsey took care of me and it was the best massage I think I've ever had. With the membership I can have a plus one who gets a great deal and I'm definitely going to book them for Lindsey as soon as possible. I had my eyelashes extension done at Spavia, the whole process took about 1.5 hours. The service was alright, however, after the procedure was done, I was checking out at the front desk, the lashes start falling. They said i can go earlier for refill if needed. After I left in an hour, my under eye area felt itchy and burn, there are red bumps, later that night it's getting worse on the area where they put eye patches. The next day, my whole face was swollen, I couldn't go to work, today is the third day, it's still swollen and itchy. I've tried Aloe cream, anti-itchiness cream and allergy pill, nothing worked. I tried to contact the business, they don't care about my face at all, they keep saying they won't refund, they won't pay for the doctor visit. They keep emphasizing they have spent time on me and product. The same to me, I spent my time and money for a money worth service and product. Turned out they use low quality product (eye patches, lashes) Today is the 3rd day, my lashes almost all fell off. It came off 15 pieces yesterday, and 5 this morning. Now my eyes have big gap in between. And I Definitely need my refund for this, I asked them to send me the certification of eyelashes extension, they promised to send the ingredient of their product, they never did. I don't think the business like this would go any longer, they don't really care about their customer, and what product they're using to affect other people's life. I scheduled a 60 minute couples massage for this past weekend. The scheduling went fine until I got an email the next day asking me to push my appointment for a later time. I emailed them back and confirm both of our names. I received confirmations for my initial appointment as well as the rescheduled appointment. The day of our appointment I went to the front desk and they could not find my time slot but they were able to find my friends. I then showed them my confirmations but also saw an email from that morning cancelling my massage. the front desk did not say anything and was not apologetic. in this case I would've preferred a call since it was less 12 hours before my appointment. i was very confused that for a couples massage they only cancelled mime. They assured us that they could fit us in. we then walked into a packed waiting lounge where one girl was waiting for an hour and a half for her massage. they clearly overbooked and/ or had staff call out. After waiting almost 30 minutes after our scheduled time, they called my friend back and said we would be in separate rooms even though we were supposed to be together. I was the. called back 10 minutes later. my massage was maybe 40 minutes long and my friends was also less than an hour. it seemed like they were trying to fit everyone in and we got shitty service because of that. while our massage therapists did a decent job, the room itself was small and the table was uncomfortable. the music wasn't good and also played a little too loud to be relaxing. afterwards we went to the front desk to proceed with checkout. the receptionist complained that she had worked a 12 hour shift the day before. we then asked to tip the therapists but charge us separately. she seemed confused with how to do that and we stood there in silence for awhile. I then told her to charge the card I had on file; that I gave when I initially scheduled the appointmen. she was confused and didn't know how to do that. I always leave the spa feeling happier and pleased with my experience. I enjoy spending some time in the waiting room before getting called for my massage. I want to state that I was until today 10/30 a proud Spavia member. I've been a member for almost five years. I have recommended my family, friends and colleagues to the Spavia location in Austin TX because of how much I love it. However, I had the most disappointing experience today when I called to cancel my birthday massage appointment because I was sick. I was told that my credit would still be used and they were going up charge me $40 even though I am unable to make the appointment because I am literally at home sick. I shared my plan was to reschedule for later in the week with the hope that I will be feeling better. It is unfair and bad business to punish a vested member for something that is out of their control. I called this morning to alert Spavia Burnet that I needed to cancel my afternoon appointment because I am out sick today. All Amanda kept saying was it's our policy, not being understanding at all of my situation. This was a massage appointment I scheduled for my birthday, I didn't want to cancel it. Took my girlfriend here on our 6 month anniversary and she was super excited. I found this place on Groupon because I always search around for the best deals and this place certainly had one of the top ones. The price was $88 for a couples massage which is pretty unbeatable from what I saw. The place was quick to answer when I called and even price matched Groupon so I didn't have to purchase Groupon. They were able to get me in for an appointment the next day and the staff here was great. Everything was pretty well, for some reason my mind couldn't relax so I don't think I enjoyed it as much as other and this may have been in part to the extra quiet music, which I eventually asked to turn up. This review is long overdue! I first heard about Spavia through Groupon and the whole process to book a massage was pretty seamless. As recommended, I got to Spavia 15-20 minutes early to take advantage of their relaxation room prior to receiving my massage. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and taken to the ladies' room to change into my robe and slippers. I was offered a great selection of teas (The Republic of Tea - excellent $$$ brand) and a heated neck pillow while I waited for my massage. The therapist greeted me promptly at my appointment time, which is nice to see they prioritize your appointment time. The therapist was overall nice but I had a couple of concerns regarding my overall experience. I went to their website after the visit and messaged the business with my concerns. I was immediately contacted by Julia, the spa director, as she sincerely and carefully listened to what I had to say. She was generous to welcome me back for a second service in order to give the place another chance. Fast forward to my second experience, I was completely blown away by Linda who provided me with a deep tissue massage. A M A Z I N G! Completely changed my mind about the place and I ended up signing up for a membership. Since becoming a member, I've received two facials now (the vitamin C radiance facial) both by Robin and Mariah. Fantastic ladies who are so knowledgable about skincare. My face was absolutely glowing and felt so moisturized after receiving these facials. I've also received a deep tissue massage from Teresa and equally enjoyed my experience. I am getting married in 5 weeks so I called Spavia to get their recommendations on beauty timeline recommendations. I just had the most wonderful conversation with Julia. She knew exactly who she was talking to and it was such a personable experience. She looked up my profile / previous bookings and made excellent recommendations for which types of facials I should do and when I should do them. The new manager reached out to me to apologize and to make up for the mishap outlined below. She kindly invited me to come back to Spavia for another massage and it was an absolutely wonderful and refreshing experience. This time I showed up 25 minutes before my scheduled appointment and was able to take full advantage of the relaxation room prior to my massage. After signing in I was promptly brought to their clean and cute women's locker room where I changed into a comfy robe and then was greeted in the relaxation room with tea and even a warm neck pillow! That neck pillow was incredibly relaxing. I'm happy to say I had plenty of time to color mandalas while I waited for my massage therapist. The massage itself was incredible. Overall, my latest experience with Spavia was wonderful and I'd definitely recommend this place to others looking for a great massage. Apparently there are hot towel wraps you can have while you wait for you spa service... its a shame I never got to experience that considering the terrible mishap my boyfriend and I had. Details about the mishap: My boyfriend and I scheduled our massages together on speakerphone while traveling home from our Thanksgiving camping trip. The receptionist told us to show up at 4:40pm... what a weird time for a massage, huh? I even asked if we needed to come in early and the girl said, "no, just show up at 4:40 and we'll take you back." ...So then we show up at 4:41pm and a different girl working at the counter immediately tells us that because we're "late" and our therapists have appointments scheduled right after ours, we would NOT be able to receive the full treatments that we HAD ALREADY PAID for in advance. I told her what the original receptionist had told us and all she said was sorry and that we could sit together in the men's relaxation room after our massages were over. Then we were rushed to our separate rooms for our treatments. I spent the entirety of my massage stressing out and rethinking the entire situation over and over. I left Spavia more stressed out and frustrated than I had been prior to arriving. How awful! She is the friendliest therapist I have ever had and I have visited spas in many different states. She made me feel so comfortable. I had my reservations about returning to a chain spa since my horrible experience with Massage Envy but I'm glad I tried this place! I came in with my Groupon and I received the 60 min Hot Stone treatment with Michael (More on that in a minute). I came in with no expectations other than to feel relief because my back is so messed up, and the staff was attentive and helpful. The waiting room where you wait for your aesthetician or masseuse(r) is so relaxing. There is a bubbling water fountain and an assortment of all kinds of teas and heating pads for your neck while you wait, coloring books.. the works. I was equally impressed with the changing rooms as there are customized locks on the lockers, a full shower, huge bathroom and changing area with every accommodation you can think of that you would need. The robes are soft and nice and you get sandals that are your size (they ask you what your shoe size is when you make an appointment, now I know why). I did have a bit of a wait but I was in no hurry as I was so relaxed in the waiting room I thought "Well.. this could be worth the price right here". Michael came and introduced himself. He showed me to the room as we walked through the hallway with these candles everywhere. The room was simple but I'm gonna have my face down and eyes closed so I don't mind about the aesthetics there. Michael asked me if the music was ok or he could turn it down or change it which was nice to know that was an option. The tables are heated (or not if you are sick of being hot in Texas). Michael was very professional and very attentive to my needs as I am not one to be shy about where a certain area of my back needs more attention. They use coconut oil which was new for me and I didn't mind going home smelling like a coconut cookie so this was no problem for me. Michael wasn't too talkative and was conservative when I engaged to help break up any possible awkwardness. I asked him to work on certain areas only and he complied. The hot stones were AMAZING. I feel soooo much better now, especially after having my back worked on by Dr. Jones at Lonestar Chiropractic. I'm back to walking with a bit more pep in my step and almost no pain (which is amazing because I have lumbar scoliosis). I highly recommend this place! I don't usually post reviews, but I just want to express myself since I can't let it go for a couple of days now. I just want to tell everybody who is going there that you can not be late. If you think you can not be there 20 minutes in advance - maybe you shouldn't come at all. My mother-in-law and I were very excited to get wrapped, but stuck in rush-hour traffic and couldn't find parking spot, so we were 10 minutes late from our appointment time (they mentioned on the phone that we should come earlier, but we didn't say what happens if we don't come earlier). Then we got forms to fill out. Then we got a tour "restroom-towels-lockers", then did all of it and finally started the procedure 30 minutes after original time. And we finished just on time, not even a minute later. So, we got 30 minutes wrap instead of 60, and for sure it was our fault, the only problem: we didn't know this is going to happen. I just wish I knew that they are absolutely not tolerant to being late. I would fill out forms faster and change my cloth faster... or would not come at all, because it was just a waste of time and money. Our wrap procedure was super rushed, 3/4 legs, arms and back only. Belly didn't get any services at all. And my body was actually wrapped for about 3 minutes only. And this is not how wrapping works. So, 0 effect noticed on the body (not surprising). Not much of a joy either, because it just wasn't done right, because it is not 30 minutes procedure. So, I don't feel like I can give feedback to services, because I hope it wasn't done how they usually do that, but I can, and I think I should to warn you: COME 20 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME because your time starts even if you are not there.
