I had been looking for a new place to get a facial because my last place was not living up to my expectations. I had stumbled upon Ann Marie Skin. What sold me was she does reiki facials!! I am a huge fan of reiki and also have been trained as a level one. I had given Ann Marie a quick text and find she had an opening that evening. Score!! I have since been back twice with another appointment on the books. I would recommend booking in advance as her schedule does book up. The location is a little odd but she had told me she had been there for years. Her esthetician room is comforting and relaxing. The pillows she uses are wonderful! After each facial I always feel relaxed and refreshed. She uses eminence products which are a luxury skin care line that always smells amazing! Her room is lovely (you don't feel like you're at a gynecologist's office...) with nice sheets and great lighting. I came in with no expectations of the pain level, and it ended up hurting a lot less than waxes I've gotten in the past. When you arrive you'll need to take off your shoes at the door. There's water in the waiting room and plenty of seating and reading material. Lucianne was super patient and provided a lot of information on the process. She was gentle (as far as hair removal goes) and made my first sugaring experience super relaxing. If you're used to waxing, the pain is no where compared to a Brazilian wax. If you're nervous l, highly recommend taking a Tylenol beforehand. They sell natural skincare products in-house, and I purchased their serum created by Ritual Union (ritual_Union on IG) to use and help with ingrowns and moisturizing. It's full of great ingredients and I'm excited to be using it. If you're into skincare/body care, Lucianne recommended to check out Earth Commons on Springdale Road. They also do events, sell tea blends, and offer holistic services. Absolutely loved my experience and I think this has converted me from using hard wax to sugaring. Highly recommend if you're looking to try sugaring!
