Everyone here is friendly, professional and speedy. The nurse who started my IV did it in the hand which is a difficult and usually painful place to put it. I hardly felt it all, which is amazing! What a pro! The next day I could hardly see where it had been located. The nurse anesthetist came to see me as well as the other nurse in the procedure room and the doctor as well. My husband and I have been in several surgery centers and it usually takes forever (I'm talking hours) for the physician to see you after the procedure and discharge you. Not here! They are so busy they have to be efficient to stay on time. My procedure was at 8:30 and I was discharged at 9:35. Unbelievable! We will be back.

Good luck getting an appointment with a specific doctor for any reason. They also don't schedule out a year in advance and when the window to schedule a well-child appointment comes around you'll be given a date two months or more later than you want. They also have several workers in the office but can't figure out how to stagger lunch breaks because the office is closed from 11:30-12:30. It's September 2022 and they still won't allow patients in the waiting rooms due to COVID. What other doctor's office still has this policy? I understand the FDA recommendation for masks but to not allow patients in the waiting room is rude.

They also never submitted any of the documentation I provided needed for my ins company so that I was dropped. all while I was going through Chemo. They are horribly understaffed and beyond rude. I hope anyone who is considering this practice values their health, because they sure do not! "makes a lot of sense for a medical practice?" The Manager is beyond rude and violates Hippa on several levels. when you need to make an appointment the receptionists will actually decide for you if they think its necessary, after at least a 45 min wait. I am currently going through legal action because of the complications they have brought to my health. We had a moment of confusion concerning my gender, but the Medical Staff was only unfamiliar with my paperwork dilemma. ("Is this an Insurance form or a Medical Form?" is the sort of question a Non-Binary person has to ask when there is only a binary checkbox and it is almost never labeled with the correct terminology. Obvs, nobodies fault stuff like that happens all the time. :) The Medical Assistants were all quick, efficient and genuinely pleased to be of service! They got me in early for my appointment too. I won't say my Doctor's name, but they were openly and respectfully curious as to how they might be of service to a Transgender Person, when so often the past told a different story. :( My Doctor addressed my every concern and meeting with them was very pleasant. The fish tank next to the check-out desk has an _Actual_Literal_Sea_Urchin_! They are very black, except for their orange rude part, and about nine inches across. The Staff Person at the check-out desk was friendly and enthusiastic! They walked me through every step of the check-out process with a smile! The Medical Assistant thanked me for coming in today! I am totally 100% assured that they will follow up with me at every opportunity and that our relationship will continue to be successful and pleasant.

She never did, went there the next day in person and spoke to a nurse practitioner (Beth)who changed the prescription. Her attitude was horrible, told me I was rude for asking to speak with someone in person. She said that my situation was not an urgency, and that it was rude to show up in person to ask for the correction to be made. Then she went on to claim that the reason behind their ineptness was lack of employees. Let me be frank, she is an awful person with a passive aggressive attitude who should not be allowed to speak with patients. Please avoid this place

Capital Area Medical seems to control a lot of doctors in the Lansing area. They set up appointments, decide who gets to transfer their medical file, and which patients to 'ban' from going to their doctors for 'nonpayment'. I am on that list. I got so pissed off at them for the drama on the phone that I decided to find a doctor close by who DIDN'T use this billing company. Yes, I would have paid the 87 bucks by the 1st of the following month, but the female who answers for Lansing and Mason decided to throw a temper tantrum, pretend she talked to the doctor 'about my situation', and in general showed herself to be a vindictive, petty, drama queen. She even called and told me I 'wasn't allowed to transfer the medical file' to another doctor who uses her services. So Dr. Laurain personally made sure my file got to my new doctor who was not so far away. Sorry doc, but I hate your billing service, and we know I lived too far away to come in regularly like you pointed out I should. Meanwhile, Dr. Laurain, you need to have a talk with the company who waited NINE MONTHS to bill for my last visit. What was she doing besides making nasty drama ridden phone calls? Doing her nails? Hopefully you changed billing companies in the last year since I called. Meanwhile, I recommend the doctor. He's good. He doesn't make you wait forever for an appointment. Worth a little drive once in awhile.
