I came here yesterday to get a full set of acrylic nails. It was chosen completely randomly, just because it was close to my work where I had to be after my appointment. My usual nail tech is on maternity leave, and I was extremely nervous about going to a new place. I was automatically greeted with a nicely organized, clean salon and friendly staff that showed me how to check in. I was seated immediately and my service began. My nails had a bit of tricky nail art, but this place rocked it!! It was quick, only taking 40 minutes for the full set, and the nails look amazing. I visited sparkle nails today after work. My first pedi 3 months postpartum. I was looking forward to finally getting something done for myself BY MYSELF for the first time in months. The lady who serviced me rushed the entire process, was careless, and not gentle at all. And she repeated the same type of unkindness and carelessness during my wax that I cut short. I always tip no matter what but I couldn't let service that was uncomfortable and rude get my extra dollars. She didn't want to service me from the beginning and she let me know. 1-star is only because I had to choose one to post this review. Long story short... DO NOT EVER GO HERE. EVER. I had just left my nephews Christmas program at a church close by and it was also my 48th birthday. I wanted to pamper myself as I do every few weeks getting a pedicure and acrylic nails. I had never been here but it was close by so I thought I would try it. I normally always go to Vivi Nails, Deview or Madelyn Nails. To start the pedicure, I picked my color and I started to soak my feet and the water was so hot I wasn't able to keep them in the tub. You could've boiled a chicken in it. Moved onto removing my existing gel polish & left much of the red on my left big toe and most toes still red still visible at the cuticles. I was asked if I wanted my toenails clipped down and I replied yes. She cut my toenails down to the wicks. Two were visibly, lightly bleeding. She proceeded to do the exfoliant rub which was VERY aggressive. Very fast rubbing and very heavy pressure to the point it hurt. Rubbing soooo fast on my leg skin it felt like a fire was going to burst up. Digging her finger knuckles into the bottom of my foot soooo hard that it was crippling. YOUCH! I had to pull my foot and leg away from her a few times during this. Rubbed the 2 stones on each leg for seconds each which was too hot as well. Explained to me that there was not enough polish in the color I picked to do both my toes and nails and I picked another color. She started applying polish and I stopped her because the polish was soooo watered down it would've taken 3-4 coats and at this point the pedicure was exactly the opposite of what it's supposed to be. Instead of pampering and relaxing it was uncomfortable, painful and frustrating. She was trying to wrap up the service with an overly watered down polish and had not done any cuticle removal/trimming, filed my toenails, buffed my toenails, moisturized the heels and foot, filed calluses, no base coat, no gel color coats, no top coat, no oil. I stopped a miserable pedicure service, told the Manager at the counter up front the experience and why I stopped her, I refused to pay, he followed me outside aggressively videoing me and my vehicle and called the Sheriff's office. I left there and went to a nail salon I visit frequently, had the gentleman fix my toenails to the best of his ability and was in the middle of getting my nails done when I was called outside by an Officer Necaise who cuffed me, took me to jail, and booked me for misdemeanor theft and resisting arrest. Both of which never happened. I have been visiting nail salons for decades. I have NEVER had an experience where it was so terrible I stop it, refuse to give my money and walk out. I've paid for crooked nails, nails where paint or design isn't what was expected, pedicures that were done quickly and cost a fortune... you name it. And I've always paid. And tipped. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. They are rude, irrational and have no idea what a pedicure entails nor how to give it properly. Painful! read more

I have been getting my nails done since 1996. It has been a treat to myself for hard work. Today was the worst experience I've ever had and it was at Sparkle Nails & Spa. I got there at 1:45 and did not leave until 4:20. I was virtually the only person there. I asked for gel nail polish on fingers and regular on toes. With OPI, they have the same color in both. I noticed when "Steve" started putting the nail polish on my nails, it was very thin and strange. He literally had to put 4 coats and it was still weirdly patchy. I've been looking at OPI for years and this was odd. I thought the color was not what I selected, but thought maybe I remembered the color wrong. Well, after my pedicure, the nail polish on the toes was a totally different color even though he initially insisted it was the same. It was not. So, even though Steve eventually admitted it was wrong, and because I had to go because I had to pick up my mom, his only solution was to take the nail polish off. He then was very rude and ugly and suggested I wanted a free manicure and didn't want to pay. He said this repeatedly. I've been paying for manicures since 1996. It's not what I ordered. I wanted a real solution. I just paid and left because he was being a total ugly nut job. I then thought about the fact that I was just bamboozled and called and asked for my money back because it was wrong. He said, "well, you left with polish on your nails didn't you?" I said it was an awful job and now I would have to go somewhere else and get it fixed. He just kept insinuating that I didn't want to pay for a manicure, while at the same time admitting something was wrong with the color. Just nuts. He said why don't you come back and I will fix it. He was rude, ugly, awful and nasty. I'm never going anywhere near that place ever again. My first red flag was that the place was empty. Second was that the polish he put on my nails was cheap gel polish in an OPI bottle. That's why they don't match. Smh. Save your money and a headache. read more

I arrived a Sparkle 10 minutes prior to the time on their door said they close in dire need of a refill. I stepped one foot in the entry door and and asked the tech sitting closest to the entry door "am I too late to get a refill?" And she responded, "yes, we close a 6:30". . I referred to the time on the business door saying hours of operation 9am-7pm but she responded "we just haven't changed the time on the door. Well it also seems it hasn't been updated with Google, yelp or probably any where else. Or did they just not want to service me . I typically go to Queen Nails (which by the way is an amazing and welcoming nail salon) on Hwy 190 but their business actually has their operation hours as closing at 6:30pm. read more

Everytime I come here I am very underwhelmed. The language barrier was so bad with the technician that she did 1. Did not give me the correct pedicure I asked for 2. Laughed hysterically in my face every time I said anything about my toes instead of just getting assistance from someone who could understand English. Customer service here is always very sub par and I have given the business numerous tries before leaving a poor review in hopes that it would change, but it never does. read more

Tips were glued to my fingers, acrylic on the top of the fingers, a HOTTT mess. None of my nails are the sale shape that I asked for. Just because someone isn't a regular doesn't mean they don't know what is supposed to happen. And just because someone is not your culture doesn't mean they don't know what you are saying. The place is filthy, nail clippings all over what they suggested was a clean towel, my daughter immediately had to go to another salon after leaving (Bella) to fix them right after walking out the door. First time trying this salon which was recommended by a co-worker. Walking in I was greeted and sat down right away and the employees were nice. I requested the powder dip as this is my second time getting it done but the first time was on the Southshore. Everything went well and I was happy; good price too. However, two of my nails cracked the very next day (yesterday) and when I woke up today, I found a third cracked nail. I haven't done anything strenuous to cause the cracks so I don't really know why three cracked within two days of getting them done. Also, I was unusually dry (and obviously still am) after she was finished and I bled once during the process. If my old nail salon wasn't so far away, I wouldn't have changed salons even though they were kinda pricey. I guess they are right when they say, you get what you pay for. Great selection of colors for my Pedi and relatively clean stations. My daughter comes here often & I wanted to give Sparkle a try, although I'm very hesitant about trying different nail salons (I'm kinda a germ-a-phobe when it comes to nail salons) It was 1pm and we went right in and sat down. The chairs are turned a little to the side, so talking with the person you come with is a little difficult, but if you come alone, then it's perfect because you have a little privacy. The nail tech was good, but my water was a little cold. I asked to make it warmer and she did, so no problem. There are TVs and the massage chairs were comfortable and have a little side table for your purse. The tech also asked if we wanted a water, which was nice. We were done in about an hour and I paid $50 for both pedi's with tip. read more

I will NOT go back to Sparkle Nails again. Find another salon!! This was my 2nd time. The first time I went, it was because I was given a gift card. The staff were not friendly. My 2nd time, my friend wanted to try it and was convenient to her home. We were greeted and was told to pick the color of polish and waited over 10 minutes before we were asked to go to the back to sit in the pedi chair. There were only 2 other chairs occupied, so they were not busy. After sitting, we waited another 10 minutes for someone to put water in the tank for our feet to soak. My feet were not in the water, that was much too hot, for less than 1 minute. Then, the man came to do my pedi and sat down and proceeded to do my pedi. He was not friendly. Not even a HELLO. He spoke to his brother that was doing my friend's pedi, the entire time. They were speaking to each other the entire time in Vietnamese. This was very rude. I told him my big toes needed trimming since I wear tennis shoes to play ball. He looked at me and mumbled they looked fine and did nothing to the nail. This was August 2020. I had enough of the vibrating chair and it would not turn off. I mentioned this to him and he just shrugged his shoulders. The owner checked us out and I told him how my pedi went since he asked me. He did not respond. I WILL NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE AGAIN! I could say more, but this would turn into a book of complaints there are other nail salons. read more

I went in for mani/ pedi Tuesday 3/26/2019 when I left I had to redo my toenail polish at home because it was absolutely horrible. It was lumpy, uneven and not covering the entire nail. The guy didn't even remove all of the old polish before putting new polish on. I paid for a manicure which I didn't receive. The guy just went straight to polishing my nails without clipping cuticles or anything. I asked for the dip with holographic on top. I received dip with pearl on top. I could have dealt with the color even though it is not what I asked for but my hands were also lumpy, uneven and not covering the entire nail. I called the owner the next day and she asked me to come in for her to fix it. I informed her that I wasn't too concerned about her fixing my toes but I absolutely wanted my hands fixed. The color is what I asked for and is now covering the entire nail but it once again is lumpy on a few fingers. I've tried to contact the owner today because now 5 days after she "fixed" my nails they are chipping. She still have not heard anything from her regarding the matter. I will never go back there and do not recommend them to anybody. read more

One of the few bad places I've been too. The lady that was doing my pedicure kept poking under my nail after i told her it was tender and sensitive but she continued to keep poking at it until I yelped in pain. I would be careful if you have anything on your hands or toes that are sensitive . Also the owner ( I assume , bald gentleman) kept me waiting for over an hour . I originally requested to do both a manicure and pedicure but eventually I was only able to do a pedicure because I didn't have time . All he did was put acetone on my toes to remove the previous shellac and left me there for an hour. I was sure if he was waiting for the lady to come back from her lunch but no communication to me about it at all. I just sat there with acetone on my toes for an hour. Only reason I gave two stars is because the shellac on my toes were pretty resilient and stayed on for weeks! read more

Decor is nice, salon is clean and staff is friendly- however when you charge 48 for a pedicure and 30 for a full set of acrylic the work needs to be up to par....I'm not even going to say stellar, because it should be, but up to par. Average. At least average! Pedicure polish chipped the very next day(normally lasts at least a week before it shows sign of wear and tear) and the Brand new full set I had put on.... Lasted three days before nails were lifting, and one week later all 10 had popped off like they were press ons! So now, I'll be trying another salon and paying to get shoddy work fixed. I have gone for pedicures 3 times at this point. Staff is friendly and salon is clean. Second pedicure polish was not done well but the first and third pedicures looked great and lasted about 2-3 weeks as typical. Massage chairs are nice.
